MAC x The Simpsons Collection (Sept 4, 2014)

Someone broke into my apartment and stole about half of my makeup collection - lipsticks, lipglosses, brushes, blushes etc. I live in a gated apartment complex btw. The fuck?!! I dont wear makeup everyday, so I have no idea when this happened. Must be in the last week, because I went out with my bestie last weekend and everything was there. My limited edition retromatte lippies - AFU, RR are gone. All my nude lipsticks and my Rihanna lippies (Nude, TT as well as Heaux) are gone (luckily I have backups of Heaux in the closet). The KYY and cranberry lip pencil from Osbournes that I JUST got and haven't even tried on are gone! Even my fucking false lashes!!  I am upset but also scared. Who is to say this bitch (I assume it's a woman) didnt try on all my lippies and lipglosses and left what she didnt want behind? Or that they won't come back? I have to check the rest of my apt to see what else is missing. It must be someone living in this complex, who knows when I am not here.  My bf is livid, he is about to hurt somebody. He is worried about my safety, and so am I.

I'm joining with all who posted support and expressing how awful this is for you. Thieves suck. I second Debs in her recommendation to make a list of what you remember having that was taken. I am thinking many of us on here will help you replace the makeup. What we cannot replace is your sense of peace and safety in your home. Hopefully you can get a security alarm or even a dog. I second the idea of a nanny cam. You may be surprised to learn who has the nerve to come into your home and take things. I agree with others who suspect an inside job. I had some makeup taken by a client when I left her alone in the office to go discuss her care with my supervisor. At the time it wasn't an expensive item, but I was in residency and it was expensive given my limited income at the time. If I can help you replace anything lost with my back ups, I will.

Oh, geez--that's awful!! Our house was broken into a few years ago, and all my daughter's makeup was stolen. It was grab-and-go, they just scooped up the baskets that were on her desk. They took a lot of other things too. It's so, so disturbing. I really feel for you (hugs!!!) A few weeks later, they did find the thieves and they did get arrested and pled. We got a lot of things back, but not all. Oddly, the makeup played a big role in finding them. The cops had a suspect, then approached them just as they were putting our computers into their trunk. The cops spotted the makeup sitting in the trunk in the baskets, that's how they knew these were "our" thieves. Obviously, she couldn't use the makeup anymore but at least they had to answer for it.

I think my makeup didn't get stolen because I had it in drawers that were tot-locked. They did take a lot of valuable stuff that I never got back, I still miss it.

Anyway, still remember that like it was yesterday. I hope that you can get an alarm or something so that you can feel better about safety.

I'll try and get a pic this week. It's hard to get a good, decent pic since it goes down onto my bum and wraps around to my front hip. But I'll try. Yeah. The most i did was 4 in one month. I was rebelling. I'll definitely post a pic. You really have to ask around and ask people that you trust. It's like finding a good MUA, but on a whole other level! I was just talking about that today with my artist. It's all word of mouth, looking at their work on people, and going into their shop and looking at their cleanliness/sanitation and their BOH records. I always said "no sleeves, no legs." Oops. Me too. And i have things will skeletons. Sooo skeleton geisha it was!

I bet that is so beautiful the way it works with the contours of your body! I can't wait to see it if you are able to do so, but I imagine taking a pic would be quite difficult

I could never get a tattoo unless I had some serious faith in the artist. I don't think I would ever get one, but if I did, I'd definitely be willing to travel if to find the right artist

You have to trust too.

I'm sorry this happened to you. I hope you are able to get some closure and regain your peace of mind. If there is anything I can find for you please don't hesitate to let me know. I don't do backups but I may have somethings laying about that I can part with.

Beautiful work erine. I like to say good tattoos aren't cheap and cheap tattoos aren't good. Usually. I find my artists by asking people I see with great tats who did them. I wish I could do color like some of you other ladies. I'm going to see someone about my next piece. She recently started my roommate's half sleeve and I'm in love with it!

How did you find him? just randomly ?

I met a complete stranger who sent me to this shop...the guy was good, he did my sisters tattoo on her arm.
He was always drunk and high...we didn't know at the time he had this addiction. He is clean now but idk how that affected his tattoos.
I haven't seen much of his work since he has been clean. But his work prior was brilliant!

I agree, as you have to be able to trust & have faith in that person. My tattoo artist had been my friend since 1st grade lol. So I knew him & trusted him to take care of me, his work was awesome & he's been published. Sadly he had to move, being a single father & the area here is small.
