Paint Pots

I hope they don't DC paints. I will have to buy hundreds of back-ups. They are easy to travel with and easy to use, in my opinion. With fluidlines, I have to use a brush, but with paints, I just use my finger!

This is a really good point!!

I really don't know how I feel about this. I don't think I'm happy, though!

i am looking forward to the alternative to the paints in the metal tube.

yah yah. unroll the tube at the end. well...when you travel internationally for work and for play, decompression and heat do not work well for this product...and i don't care mow much you unroll that tube, it leaks, it oozes, it is ugly and messy. i finally had to give up on them altogether. then i discovered Guerlain cream to powder e/s. the gawdiest packaging ever, but the most gorgeous product in a pot...doesn't crease, and is my fave e/s base.

however people love these paints...i hope they don't discontinue them!

MAC, i am looking forward to you challenging the quality of the guerlain product!

my tubes don't ooze after like the first 3 times i use it and even if they start to "ooze" i just put the cap back on RIGHT away and it stops, duhhhhhh

I'm actually excited, the packaging they're in right now lend themselves so nicely to damage... I've had two of mine crack open and two others have caps that refuse to screw on. I think they'll be much better.

I love paints, but I hate that the tubes get so mangled and chipped, so this is a good thing in terms of that, but maybe less sanitary because you dip your finger in it? I don't know. I'm excited to see them though!

Thanks for that, but I don't think that anyone here is implying that their tubes explode with great bursts of paint. Even a little ooze can be inconvenient if you are making up multiple clients at a sitting and have to work quickly (then I like to keep a little paint in sample jars if I am using a new tube, as I don't want even a little speck of paint on my hands).

I'm interested to see what MAC comes up with - I love my paints, and I hope they can absolutley perfect it.

That would be ideal!

hmm... im skeptical bout this one.. no i do not like how the paints ooze out when theres an air, and the pot packaging sounds cool.. but do you guys think that it will cost more? im guessing a pot will cost more to make than a squeezy tube.. ill prolly still buy em though! but maybe i should stock up on the paints too.. any ideas on the shelf life of a paint?

I'm kind of excited about this. One reason I don't use the paints are because of the packaging and all the waste

I guess I'm not very hard on my paints...I haven't had anything but the "oozing" thing, but managed to squeeze the tube just right to suck it back in or push down on the stuff & it mashed back into the tube, and I never needed much to come out of it to use. I thought the main reason these work so well is because of the dryer texture than something in a fluidline type tube with a sponge-tip applicator or something, and I truly hope the new formula can be relied on for all the things I love about my paints! And I hope they keep the same shades exactly the same, because otherwise I don't want to hear there will be no Bare Canvas, Stillife, Untitled, and a few others I use every day. If someone could warn me/us here before we can't find them anymore, I'll hoard some before they're gone. I am anxious, though, also to try the new kind & hope it's the most wonderful stuff ever! If it's not, I'm going to go look up the Guerlain stuff!

The Paints def ooze and waste a lot of product in the beginning, but they also preserve the product really well and since almost no air gets inside, the paint doesn't dry out. I think having it in a pot would suck, tbh. I'd rather they just IMPROVE the tube packaging that the paints come in right now to prevent the oozing, then it would be a perfect product!

I've been using paints for years, and I've had them like have a little come out after but its not a huge deal or a big waste of product, I like the fact that it looks like a paint tube, and my oil paints last years in the same condition as my mac paints, so I'm thinking the paints will last just as long. I'm going to be picking up back ups just in case of a few colors, I hope they can keep the tubes because I'm sorry I dont like fluidlines or the pots, I have had them and they just take up alot of space and dry up on me. mac is just making it easier and eaiser to pass on new products now.

but anyways these wont be coming out until sometime after jan, I was able to look though my ma's book for a while and these werent in it.
