I use a Canon PowerShot A 620 and usually don't photoshop a lot my pictures but I resize them. I set my camera and never use the automatic mode or any flash mode. If your pictures look blurry try a tripod.

If the colors don't stand out well you'll need an other light (no bathroom lighting) Natural lighting near a window always works.
