That's because that is exactly true, there are more fakes than authentic products. 95% of mac products on ebay or online in general are fakes. Same goes for Coach bags, Rock and Republic Jeans, Tiffany Jewelry, baby food/formula etc etc etc. If you have bought any kind of high end product on ebay, chances are very good that if you showed pictures to someone who knows their product, they would determine its a fake and they will tell you exactly why they know this. I can go through a search of designer jeans on ebay, and I can tell you in most cases within seconds if it is fake or not. And 95% of them are. It's profitable and easy to get away with apparently. Seriously, this money goes to fund some projects that would truly make you ill. Terrorism, funding dictatorships, arms trade, etc etc. I simply do not go to ebay for my products because of this. I only get fabric there lol.

My original message:
I trusted you when you said they were authentic but I was able to get Cocomotion, Revved Up, Apricot Pink and Your Ladyship from Mac and the pigments you sold me are undeniably fake. They are part of a new lot of fakes sold by "wholesalers" in mass quantities. The telltale signs are that the pigment colors are different between the fake and authentic, plus the fakes from you have the tiny deeply imprinted numbers that are the hallmark of high-end fakes. I would like to return these to you for a full refund, including shipping as I feel duped. I have the emails where you lie to me and assure me they are real--and whyile it was a lot fo work and money on my part, I have confirmed you are peddling fake MAc which is illegal and unsafe.

Blissful Beauty denied GlitterLid'srequest for a $90.65 USD refund.

I am hurt and confused. You said that you were offering friendly input regarding my pigments. You had said you didn't want a refund? Please send all of them to me and I will refund:
3/2/2009 13:02 PST

Also, they were all confirmed again as authentic last week at Saks, all of them.

These are not fake, I am not a liar and have been nothing but kind and honest to you. Please just return them for a refund, this had gotten out of hand.

Did you report me to Ebay as well?????

They are FAKE. I am returning. I have the real ones from mac--I spent the money to replace these and they turned out to be fake. Yes--you have been nice and maybe you've been duped but they are fake. Period. How am I supposed to return them--you just declined to refund me.

I am sorry you feel hurt and confused--i am hurt and confused too. These are FAKE. There is no doubt. I don't know what the people at Saks know or not but they are not authentic--they are part of a new highly sophisticated batch of facts--ad how would Saks know about naval Blue and French Violet? they are pro-only colors.

AM i a major sap to feel bad? UGH.

I got my money back but I also felt like absolute cr*ap! I started doubting myself and feeling really bad and I felt sorry for her.

I was going to drop the whole thing because I felt so bad!

These people are professional scammers. I just don't know how they can just keep lying to people. How can they sleep at night?

You should never buy from ebay. High end items are usually fakes from China. Many girls on here have access to mac, so next time get a cp. It ends up being cheaper because you don't have to pay the ebay/paypal fees plus the seller's normally inflated shipping prices. Tighter knit groups are generally more honest.
I've had my fair share of bad luck on ebay. It's not even worth it anymore. I just go directly to the site that makes the product if i can't cp it or get it in person.
You are very lucky the seller didn't remove her bank account and funds before you got the refund especially since it was near 100 dollars.
Raise a dispute with ebay, paypal, fbi cyber crimes, the better business bureau...report it to as many agencies as possible, even notify mac corporate. record all your info, telephone calls, dates and times, responses, log it all, make copies for each instution and yourself. Eventually, as people realize the amount of scams, action will be taken, but you have to do your part and stay on it.

yeah, according to the link you posted they are fake. the label is too big and bottom of the jar doesn't match up to any of mine. I'm sorry, but lesson learned without losing any money.

I've been following a lot of these threads about fake pigments, and see lots of 'signs' people use to tell if a pigment is fake. (like the small lettering example used in this thread)

Can anyone point me to a good thread where there is a concise list of tell-tale signs to look for when determining if a pigment is fake???

Thanks!

You have to keep updated by reading in this forum http://www.specktra.net/forum/f257/
new better looking fakes are constinenly coming out so you have to check back often.
Your best bet is to buy directly from m.a.c. if you can.

Off the Radar pigment is very obviously not real mac. it says 837 as the batch number. the 8 should be a letter, the sticker is too large the base is thick...
Not only is it one of ebay's policies to not sell fake items, it is illegal to sell fake cosmetics in the u.s under fda guidelines..not to mention sending counterfeit products in the mail is mail fraud, these are serious federal crimes.
Profits made from makeup forgery crimes are used to fund other serious organised crimes such as drugs and arms smuggling, people trafficking, identity theft, money-laundering and child pornography. As reported by Interpol, there is even evidence of profits from counterfeiting funding terrorist activity! The cosmetics company has been hit extremely hard with counterfeit products.

Honey, it's only slander if you can prove you sell AND sold her and others authentic product. The onus is on you for proof. If the product is fake and the others you sell are determined to be fakes, with authentication by mac, then it is not slander. By saying you get it from a legitimate wholesaler is not enough. To say you would never sell fake product because of X reason is not enough. PROOF that her product and your other products up for sale, currently and in the past are authentic as verified by MAC and none other.

So enough with the grandstanding and threats ok?

There really isn't one that i know of since so many different "companies" come out with new fakes all the time.
This thread is over 400 posts long, start with the newest post and go backwards. Some members have original bottles and then a fake to compare. This is the only concise information to date that the public has. The whole forum is dedicated to fakes, just to let you know how many different items are being faked and each time they change to make them look more real.

http://www.specktra.net/forum/f257/i...9/index18.html

You literally can't miss a post or thread because there isn't a database that can keep up with the number of changes they make. Luckily new technology is being created to prevent the packaging from being faked. The use of holograms, u.v. inks, and micro print will help reduce the number of fakes.

It would be awesome if there was database

Maybe if I get to reading all these threads, I could try and make one as I go... it would probably take a long time...

Anyway, thanks for the help!

i agree with you....the 2 fake Mac i got off ebay, the packaging was very poor...one of the boxes actually fell to bits as I was tryin to get the pigment out!
angry.gif
The fake Mac Zoom lash mascara box,had few minor diffrences mainly typeset and Mac logo was different... my genuine Mac box had sort of smooth quality of the paper ....if you see what i mean but to people who have never seen an authentic Mac zoom lash mascara, the counterfeit product could look genuine!!
angry.gif

BTW the UK seller of my counterfeit Zoom lash, was shortly Narud after my complaint to Paypal!
