I had parrot from before so i didn't pick it up, but I did get Ochre Style and Charred. I'm on the fence about Charred though because I swatched it against Knight Divine and Pandamonium (Balloonacy Quad) and they look almost identical. The Originals collection wasn't too exciting for me though. It's great that they are repromoting these dc'd items, but dc'd items are dcd for a reason...cause something similar and better gets released. So i may end up returning charred...but I don't have anything like Ochre style yet so I'll definitely be keeping that.

I agree with you. When I saw Charred I thought it looked the same as Pandamonium so I passed. Ochre style is pretty unique compared to anything in the permanent line or any LE's that have come out in the last couple years so I think it's one to grab.

I agree with you on this. I was not impressed with anything. I guess that's more money for something else.

Yeah, I only bought Parrot and 2 of the glitters. I figured I could pass on the other 2 glitters and get them another time because they are pro items so I can always go to my pro store someday and get them. =)

Clue, Diesel and Sante Fe are all discontinued eyeshadows. Ochre was a limited edition colour that came out in a collection called 'Sleek Chic' about 6 years ago.

I for one loved Parrot, I wore it with club and carbon. It looks lovely, I'll make sure to post a FOTD when I wear it again. I got the blackened red and teal glitters.

Is this going to be for all the reflects glitters going forward from Originals and on? On my Curiositease sets where we got the mini reflects blue and reflects gold, the pullaway on the bottom with the upc says:

Warm set--
"Warning: Keep entirely clear of eye area. If product enters eye, rinse with water. If irritation occurs, consult your ophthalmologist: Reflects Gold"

From that warning, I'd be worried about it falling into the eye area so I'll have to figure out how else to use these....maybe lipstick/gloss?

weird. our update books says that the reflects glitters are ophthamologist and dermatologist tested, meaning eye (ophth.) and skin (derm.) tested and approved. all of us at my counter wore them on our eyes when the collection came out. i just wet my brush with fix+ and applied it on top of shadow. and i wore the regular glitters mixed with ezr all over my face and eyes for halloween. i didn't have any problems with irritation with either of the glitters. some did get in my eyes buy it wasn't painful. it was just like an eyelash in the eye.

i would suggest that you use the water-based mixing medium or ezr to use the glitters on your eye if you are afraid of irritation. oryou can use it on the lips, with nail polish, hair gel, or just on the face and not around the eye area.

The answer seems to depend on whom you ask.
An online MUA with whom I chatted yesterday said that while all of the glitters are lip safe, none of them are eye safe.

Since I wear contacts, I'll probably keep my glitters away from my eyes.

I asked a MUA in my area this today, and he said that they are not eyesafe, but what you do away from the counter he can't control (I think he was implying he does it at home).

I received a postcard in my order today that says you can enter the "One of a kind" contest online...

Quote:
As we pay tribute to all the shades that have made us unique, show us what makes you an original. To enter this one-of-a-kind contest and have a chance to win The Originals colour collection and a MAC gift card, simply upload a picture/headshot of yourself in your signature style at M·A·C Cosmetics Original. See official rules for details. Contest ends 11:59 P.M. EST on January 31, 2008. Void where prohibited

I went to maccosmetics.com/originals and there are already entries there. Seems you get to "vote" on an entry. I wonder if that's how the contest is going to be decided by the number of votes an entry gets. I haven't read the official rules.

Wonder if any Specktra members will enter....
