work look for NC25

Help meeeee! I've desperately been looking for a neutral eye look for work, but my browns don't look brown on me. They mostly look bluish. Any recommendations? Colors? Placement on eye? Liners? (Don't like Fluidline tho. Too hard to use.)

I LOVE MAC but all brands r welcome.

Try using a base underneath to get a truer color. Urban Decay Primer Potion is great. I get about 12 hours wear out of it. Also, MAC Shadesticks are great.

I'll tell you what I do...for a work look, I'll probably be sticking with conservative neutrals (since I'm pretty sure bright shadow in court is a no-no). What I will usually do that is quick, easy, but still interesting is a light to medium color on the lid, with a medium to dark color in the crease and a light color to highlight. I then use a pencil liner and I soften the line using an angled eyeliner brush. Finish off with Mascara on the top lashes only, blush and lipstick and/or gloss.

Neutral staples:
Woodwinked
Tempting
Brun
Patina
Bronze
Satin Taupe
Antiqued
Twinks
Smoke & Diamonds (get it while you can!!)
Clue (also get it while you can!!)
Chocolate Brown Pigment
Love Connection MES (get it while you can!!)
Grand Entrance (get it while you can!!)
Dreammaker (get it while you can!!)
Shore Leave (get it while you can!!)
Phloof
Nylon
Jest
Dazzlelight
Blanc Type

Colors that are also "neutral-ish":
Mink & Sable
Sumptuous Olive
Memorabilia (get it while you can!!)
Illegal Cargo (get it while you can!!)
Shale
Pen 'N' Pink
Play on Plums MES (get it while you can!!)
Two to Glow MES (get it while you can!!)

Liners:
Feline Kohl Power
Orpheus Kohl Power
Stubborn Brown Powerpoint
Engraved Powerpoint

I know this is a lot of info to throw at you, but I hope it will help!

R u a lawyer too? I'm a divorce atty. "Divorceanator", get it? Lol.

Bc of all the rave reviews on Mink and Sable, I bot it and wore it today. I put it on in a wash on my lid with black mascara, Orgasm blush and Chanel nude liner w some random clear gloss on top. I felt like a '70's Barbie and not in a good way. In my bathroom lite, it looked ok but in the Courthouse bathroom, it looked v pale eerie pasty blue! Truly awful. Lucky for me, hearings r recorded and not videotaped! Cd u imagine?!

I also bot Smoke and Diamonds too but haven't worn it yet.

i will pedal this look until the day i die. when i'm not being a lazy bum in the morning, or if i need a pick me up when i'm in a rut with my work, this is the look i go to:

mac vanilla e/s on the lid, mac cork e/s in the crease, mac ground brown e/s to deepen the crease, mac dazzlelight e/s as a brow highlight, mac coffee e/l to tightline and a few coats of mac brownette plushlash.

i like this look because it leaves you alot of room to experiment with different cheek and lip colours and can be darkened and damaticized alot just by adding a little more ground brown e/s.

fyi, i'm nc25/30 with green eyes and brown/blonde hair.

What about this look, I use it on customers a lot and always get good feedback from it. It's great for a casual, but not too casual day look and then if you are going out in the evening just add some smolder :0)

Groundwork Paint Pot as a base
Naked Lunch Highlighter under brows and on inner corner of eyes
Grey Utility Eyeliner on top lashline
Cork Eyeshadow in Crease of Eye
Knight Divine Eyeshadow on outer corner of bottom and top lids
Mascara of your Choice
with
Viva Glam V lipstick
And Ample Pink Lipgloss on top?

Wow. That sounds hot! I. don't know if someone as nerdy as me can pull it off. But I'm going to try. Lol. u Specktra ladies r killing me! Ur makeup skills totally rock.

Btw, u must have sooooo much fun as a MA. Sounds like a dream job. If it were me, I'd b playing w everything all day long. Hee hee.

Yes I (almost) am! I just finished the Bar Exam and am waiting for the results. I also just started my new job yesterday. I love that there's such a diverse range of people on here. I know there's a few other attorneys, too!

it's a pro colour, but any dark matte brown will work.

you can try espresso e/s or handwritten e/s which should be at your counter.

Congrats Purrty! The hard part is over. I've been a atty for ten plus yrs (r dating myself) and I still luv going to work everyday. How many people can say that abt their work??

And Kimmy thx for the info on the ground brown dupes. I get so frustrated bc browns ALWAYS look BLUE on me. So annoying. I just want a simple neutral look for work!

I can't wait until lunch tmorr so I can go to MAC and swatch stuff. I wrote down all of the colors so I have my list. I'm ready!!!

I know I def want to get some sort of brown liner. I bot feline bc of the rave reviews on Spectra and hate it. It smears like crazy and I just don't think I'm a black liner person. It looks so stark. Maybe I'm just not used to wearing liner???

i love feline because of it's smudgy goodness haha. but, if you want a clean, crisp line that'll stay put, you might want to try a liquid liner (or even a liquid last liner, but that will stay on for many days so be careful to get the right shape

) or a fluidline.
