Mac Pro Palettes discussion

Just picked up one of the new double-sided palettes, and I think I like it. The divider in between is nice for labeling which e/s is where in the palette, as long as you don't mind putting stickers on the clear divider. Not sure how difficult it will be to get empty pans out of the insert, but I guess I'll find out sooner or later. Has anyone found a good way to get them out? I also don't mind the weight or thickness of the new palette, and as far as the price goes, it's actually a good deal compared to buying two single-sided palettes. I'm using this one for my neutrals and my browns, since I use those the most often. I think I'll give it a couple of weeks to see if I discover any problems with it, and if it works out, I'll buy two more to accommodate the rest of my e/s.

I updated my post to reflect this, but I wanted to let you girls know that I have had two eyeshadows fall down onto the clear shield... and they were on the side without the divider. Nothing broke, but it definitely pissed me off. I was walking around the house with the palette, looking for good lighting to take pics for my blog and that's when I heard the little guy fall onto the shield. Unless you are going to be leaving your palette stationary the dividers may be a necessity :( I am going to leave mine the way it is, but I don't want to be responsible for any broken shadows. Here is the link that I am referring to:

Getting shadows out are a breeze! It takes all of 2 seconds.

I used one of my pro pan blushes today and just thought about how dope it would be if MAC made a 2 pan blush palette. it would be so perfect for travel.

Really? I'd love to see a picture of the 2 blushes fitting into a quad palette without the insert. :)

I completely agree.

Some quick notes: - It's really thick!! The old one wasn't really travel friendly to begin with for me, so, the thickness doesn't bother me too much right now, we'll see how I feel 2 months from now though. It's heavy too. Closure is nice, and the palette feels better quality than the old. - I like having 12 blushes all at my hand - I like the closure. - I think it would be great to have blushes on one side and e/s on the other for a minimalistic person/collection. - I don't like the price!! - The magnet base without the insert is really strong, like someone said previously. The only thing I don't like about having the pans loose is that the palette is so deep that I just don't think it looks nice. I like my pans to be flush with the sides of the palette. I'd be curious to see if these palettes could hold MSFs and how many of that size pans could fit inside them. I don't depot those but would consider depotting things like Ripe Peach or Marine Life (flat ones not as fragile) if I could fit alot in there. I really hate the MAC standard pot packaging, it's so bulky. Hope this helps. I don't know if I'll buy more. I may buy one more for e/s but I don't think I'd want a ton of these filling up my makeup drawer.

This is the only reason I'm buying the inserts! I'm using the new ones for my kit only, keeping the old style for personal use (good thing i had multiple backups of empty shadows palettes!). And even mac did have the single in stock (seriously, what's taking so long!?), the double is cheaper than buying two singles.

I would love to see a quad without insert, too! I have been debating buying some empty quads and using them without inserts because I am in desperate need of some small sized travel - friendly palettes. Not 100% sold on the Z palettes.
