MAC So Reel / Reel Sexy discussion

Agreed!!!!!!

Also here's what I'll be getting, with some advance thoughts on why, how & BU or not:

Lipstick
pink popcorn- lavender (lustre) - This one will probably be darker than the Chen Man lavender lustre, which is labeled "light lavender". I've got plenty of light lavender between Quite Cute (which really works on me...I BUed it) and Fresh Amour mattene (which also really works beautifully, while the other light mattenes didn't). A little darker tone will be welcome.

reel sexy- light bright coral (amplified) - If this is what's in the promo picture, it's coming home with me - perfect Spring ver. of Toxic Tale, which is one of my dear loves. I like that it's Amplified, too. The only way I would skip it would be if it's instead very close to Jazzed - that color only looks best on me when I've got a tan.

watch me simmer- bright pink-orange (amplified) - I'll get this this week with Shop Mac (and probably just back it up this week too). I'm so thrilled with all these wonderful brights.....I know I'm going into overdrive with 'em, but it's honestly the best look on me and certainly what was always "me" since I first started wearing makeup.

heroine- bright violet plum (matte) - BACK UPS. Honestly between the matte, the bright and the violet in this description, how could I not???

Cremesheen glass

private screening- mid-tone peach - This one ought to be a good Spring update for Geo Pink, which was my running out of the house gloss for a big chunk of 2011. Mid-tones work best on me by far too, so anytime I see mid-tone in a c/s/g formula, I'm instantly interested.

cinestyle- mid-tone blue grey violet - see my thoughts on Heroine, hehe. I'm dying to see this color!!

color saturation-dark cool wine - I like that it's a cool wine for a change. I love Richly Revered and Looks Like Sin, but they're both more browned out.

star quality- bright orange coral - Richer, Lusher is my standard coral from the perm line, so something brighter and even more orangey is extremely welcome. If it's anything like Caqui, but brighter, I'm going to be excited.

Eye shadow duo
dynamic duo 1 coral with yellow pearlized pigments (veluxe pearl)/purple (matte) - strong likelihood I'll skip this one - may lean too warm and yellow for me, since even slight yellow casts around my eyes are very bad on me almost always. 'Same for purples that pull too warm....they're better but not ideal.

dynamic duo 2 violet duo chrome with pearlized pigments (frost)/violet (matte) - Come to mamma! No chance against it. I haven't had a nice matte violet in many years and combo'ed with a duo chrome? Hello!

dynamic duo 3 mid-tone purple (veluxe pearl)/teal blue (matte) - I skipped Robin's Egg, even though I was really tempted, so to have a mid-tone purple VP + a matte teal means this one's getting bought, period.

dynamic duo 4 mid-tone pink (satin)/blackened violet (matte) - I'm most likely skipping this because I prefer less blackened purples overall. The pink would really have to blow me away to turn my head and it seems like so many pinks just don't achieve that level of depth and complexity I crave - the pigments to make a really rich pink are some of the most expensive out there, so it's no wonder. If this duo can rise to the next level, I'll get it but somehow I'm not holding my breath.

eye kohl
smolder intense black - 'got it, use it, etc. moving right along.

heirloom a highly metallicized greyed lavender - I looked up swatches of this and it's in the same tonal area as Industrial (meaning the same amount of light vs. dark). Considering Industrial is one of my favorite pencils, and this one's purple and an Eye Kohl on top of it and most likely will be waterline safe, means BU's galore. I won't want to run out of this one or have to ration my usage at all, like I wound up doing with Industrial. Probably will be an embarrassing amount of BUs, lol.

resort- deep amethyst plum -Yep. BUs. Especially if it has a red cast without being too warm, which would be my ultimate for a deep plum liner.

hyacinth- mid-tone blue - If this is a cool blue, with plenty of purple in it, there's going to be a boatload of BUs. It's hard to find a decent swatch of this online, even though it's a repromote, so I've been having a tough time figuring out if this is the sort of blue I love or the sort of blue I'm meh about and that does nothing for my eyes. It's a fine line with green eyes like mine....the wrong blue really competes and detracts, but the right blue makes them glow like rare emeralds.

So basically, I'm buying most of this collection. My bank account is already terrified but my sexy makeup quotient is sky high!

Omgy Hyacinth looks awesome! Heirloom looks like a purple version of I Get No Kick. Both are def on my list! Resort sounds awesome as well.
I'm pretty sure I'll be getting the 2 & 3 eyeshadow duos and of course Pink Popcorn, as long as it doesnt look like Quite Cute (which I have a new found love for after pairing it with Vacant from GP) that I already have. But like you said Liba, it will prob be darker then the chenmen one. Plus I love the name!

You pretty much summed it up. Team Purple and Team Coral are tag teaming on this one, and wallets and bank accounts will be TKO'd

I am loving the orange too! I'm so excited for it to be a popular color to have more options :)

So true! A year ago I would not have been caught dead wearing an orange lippy. Now I find myself contemplating, should I get Morange??? MAC enables me to try colors that in the past would have mortified me.

Seriously!? Purples AND Corals!? This is my type of collection! Now I'm scared to go back for more Shop/Cook & Vera! Aside from the cost of all these collections... I'm running out of room!
