MAC Pink 4 Friday Discussion

Hi ladies. There was a glitch with Mac UK's website on wednesday morning at 7 a.m. (I was at work preparing for a case and was taking a break!) and I managed to order two of these lipsticks. I then regretted it when I saw Temptalia's swatch. I've received them now and I have to say that the lipstick is pretty and not as cool or clownish looking as on Temptalia. It is a barbie pink and, while a bit stark on it's own, is gorgeous with a sheer pinky gloss or even a clear one. I do think this lippie needs a liner though to bring it out. WOC try it - it does look good on.

Thanks! I mainly just wanted to know if it is different enough from it to justify buying it, because I did, and it sounds like it is!

I decided to take a chance and order it, since I wanted to pick up Catharina anyway and it's sold out in these parts. I tried out St. Germain and, while I wasn't crazy about the texture (often happens with testers) I did think that the colour was quite distinct from anything else I have. If I hate it, I suppose that I'm only out the price of a single lipstick and I can find someone who will give it a loving home.

I don't think it is so much abut her music. She one of the latest girl to come along and actually play with her makeup. That is the same reason they chose Lady Gaga to be apart of the Viva Glam line. She is a cute girl with an eye for great makeup. I can't wait for this lipstick!

I wasn't too hype when I saw the swatches on Temptalia. It looked too much like Pink N. , which I have but I don't lilke how it looks on me. Blue tone lipsticks don't go great on my dark pigmented lips. I am content with my Chatterbox lipstick.

Has anybody gotten theirs yet and want to talk about it? I already have gaga, and I'm unsure about this ls. especially because the swatches because it swatches looks different in almost every picture. I like pink though. I like pink very much.

I could have sworn there was a swatch thread for this lipstick, but yet I can't seem to find it... Anyone know?

I'm going to take some pictures of it sometime today. I have swatched it along with Pink Nouveau, Gaga, Snob, Of Royalty, and Saint Germain. I really wish I had a better camera, because I don't think I am getting great photos. I will say though that none of the lipsticks are anything I would consider 'dupes'. I think the closest you could get is if you mixed a little bit of PN with SG; it's actually the darkest lipstick of the bunch after PN, with the intensity of SG. Gaga, Snob, and Of Royalty all look 'dull' compared to Pink Friday, imo.

As for who can wear it, I am surprised that these pinks work on me. When SG came out with Sugar Sweet, I tried it on at the store and all the girls there thought it looked good on me. It looks really good when I have a tan. I'm NW 20/25 right now but sometimes I can get up to NW30 and to me that is when these pinks look their very best. I am told I am warm toned.

If you have trouble wearing these types of pinks, especially SG, I would skip this one. I love SG and since Pink Friday is darker and more purple, it JUST borders on too cool for me. I would say any more purple and it would not work. Sadly, Lavender Whip is too purple and cool for me. I am hoping to make it work somehow though.

^Thanks for the description! I'm feeling better about this now, since I have LW and it's not too cool for me at all (I'm a cooler-toned girl). I've tried on St. Germain and the only thing that bothered me about it was that it went kind of "clumpy" on my lips. I suspect that had more to do with the tube that I tried rather than the colour itself. I'm really excited to get my package now that I know you got yours!!
