I really want to love this collection but there are so many dupes for the eyeshadows in the regular line and they are so overpriced!
I think even the MA's feel weird about it when talking about the collection. Everyone knows that MAC is supposed to be the more affordable higher end brand. Don't get me wrong the lip products are amazing..not lipstick not gloss something in between. Love them but it's sad that they are priced so high and not everyone can enjoy them or purchase more than few..The eyeshadows are nice but not that different from starflash texture. I am really disappointed in MAC.

You can get a Urban decay book of shadows for the price of 3 of these eyeshadows. Save your money and get the Naked Palette..seriously.
This is my honest review of this collection. Sorry to be debbie downer but someone has to say and hope MAC gets the feedback they seriously need.

I ended up getting Flaunting It and So Vain lipcolours and wanted to get Prance eye shadow SOO badly but it's not unique enough to get for 19.50 right? I mean, I loooove the blendability and the color but it can be easily duped. I'm having second thoughts

I was thinking about getting So Vain...but I can't decide. I have also been thinking about Enchantee.

^^^I agree, I have to say when I saw these in person I wasn't as wowed as I thought I'd be after hearing so many rave reviews. I was swatching a few colors & have to say some of them were not really great in texture or uniqueness, maybe its because I have so many shadows already? I was able to walk away with only 1 with no regrets about the rest & I really had thought I'd be buying 4 or 5. *another debbie downer* anyone still on Team No? lol

I have to say I agree with you. I've been purchasing MAC for a looong time but didn't become an avid collector until Warm & Cozy (late '09/early '10). Since then, I've been happy until recently with their price increase and then even more so with their Back2Mac changes. I used to B2M for limited edition products all the time and now my pro store said MAC changed their policy to where you can only B2M for permanent eye shadows in the pot, lipstick, or lipGLASS; no cremesheen glasses or dazzleglasses. With the Rodarte controversy, bullsh** with the Mickey collection being online only (basically) then selling out in 0.3 seconds, and discontinuing some of my favorites, I decided that in 2011 I will be branching out from MAC collections and instead focus on buying 2 things a month to build my eye shadow palettes and maybbeee 2-3 things from a LE collection if it impresses me. Plus, I've been branching out into NARS, MUFE, etc more because I've yet to be disappointed with those brands. Though the Peacocky collection is beautiful, the prices disappoint me. Though the Mickey Contractor collection has it's good points, it was a huge hassle getting my hands on products. But still...I'll probably go get Prance lol

Last night I wore Top of the Posh on my lid, SoY in the outer corner and crease and Dalliance as a highlight for the browbone and inner corner - it was really pretty! Oh yes, and I used Lord It Up as a smudged liner, so it was a very subtle smoky look LOVED this combo!

This gave me the idea for what I'm wearing right now- Dalliance on my lid, with SoY in the outer corner and crease and Lord It Up as liner. LOVING IT!!!!! Thanks for the inspiration!

[/quote] I love it. Here's a tip: Apply a thin layer and then wait a few seconds for it to settle before adding another layer. That helped me.

Couldn't quite capture this on camera how it looks in person, but I thought I'd do another one with Peek-at-You (again, inner-third and highlight), with Tweet Me (wet using Fix+, and let me tell you, this shines!) all over the lid and SoY in the crease. I couldn't believe how easy it was to get SoY to do exactly what I wanted





This is so fun, I feel like for the next week half the gals in my town will be walking around with my experiments while I play with these, lol

The Mega Metal/Lip Colour/Pigment situation is all the same to me. If you like the colors and can afford it, then buy it; if not then sit this one out. These are not permanent prices. These prices are unique to this collection (at least for now). I say these are a better value for a lot of reasons like the amount you get and the formula. However, I know some people, like me will never finish a pan. Having said that, though I love the formula and I have plenty of disposable income. It's pretty impossible at this point to invent new colors, so what's old is new again. I was going to totally skip this collection because of the price and the fact that I have similar colors, but the formula sealed the deal for me. Just choose wisely or skip it all together.

I just ordered So Vain. hboy: So, I think I have them all now except Love Peck and Enchantee. I know I won't be buying those no matter what: Enchantee was clearly made with the fairer beauties in mind and Love Peck is a color I already have and don't wear often. Ok, I am totally done with this collection!

Innocence, Beware! is my HG nude, especially when paired with Devilishly Stylish - I got backups of both and wear them all the time!

ok, I'm a happy camper now. Behold, my pretties, in their temporary home until I decide on the MUFE or BenNye palette. I have 6 more coming, so that is going to make one more than the Ben Nye can hold. ack. And the Dare to Wear are sharing their space for the moment.
And, I was able to fix my Centre Stage. It was still a little mucky here, but I figured if I dabbled a little 190 proof alcohol and pressed with a paper towel and some weight, I couldn't hurt that part of the pan more than it already was. It now is almost entirely smooth looking (better than in this pic. It would drive me nuts to see it all mucked up since they are so new.)

So, I don't know if the blushes have this, but where I went wrong the first attempt was not realizing the lip that is on the plastic pan. I tried to snap that part out like a regular shadow.
On the center of each side is the lip.
I just had to go slloooowwwww on that first popping out.

You mean it's completely different than the shadows? I have to take a look!

Usually the first thing I do is de-pot, but with this collection, I have been dreading it!

Yeah, because that first step of popping out the shadow in its plastic tray thingie (I'm getting all technical with the terms here, lol) is normally a breeze. These, it is not easy. The first couple of ones after I kinda broke the Centre Stage, I was all shaky and nervous. geez. But I really wanted to depot them. I do so much better with coming up with combos and such when I have colors out there at once in a palette.

Now, I've never depotted a blush, so this may be not new, and they may have that lip, but don't try to just pop out like a normal shadow.

I have been thinking about getting SoY, but I already have Antiqued. From side by side swatches I seen on the computer, they look identical. Can anyone tell me what they think? Is there enough difference between the 2?

First, THANKS for the kind words about my looks. I have made my way through about 1/2 of the shadows--have the blues, pinks and metallics to do... Everyone who has posted has done a great job and looks fabulous--I love seeing all the pics.

I have to agree with the comment above to a large degree. I think the formula is great and the shows are lovely BUT there are many dupes. Since I have 125+ MAC shadows, and 120+ pigments collected, I didn't need 90% of these shadows. I struck out with Cham Pale so I splurged...I probably will keep them since they are very wearable and I love the texture, vibrancy and blendability.... but I could have saved a lot of moolah. I am going to do dupe sheets this week and post.
