MAC - Peacocky discussion

I did a look tonight using Dalliance and Unflappable over a pinky-peach base, Feline along the lash line and I Get No Kick on the inner corner. I probably would never have paired a green and black, but it made my eyes look huge. Unflappable is a really interesting colour, it pulls to different undertones depending on the colours you pair it with and your base. Tonight it definitely looked like a black, but over a dark grey base it looks like a deep purple and with a beige base it's brown.

I think these might be only sometimes shades for me, because my eyes felt kind of irritated and it was a massive relief to take them off, but I've had allergic conjunctivitis for weeks, so I don't know if that's a contributing factor? I don't usually wear eyeshadows unless I'm going out. Anybody who doesn't normally have a reaction to eyeshadows have a problem with these? I'm hoping it's the conjunctivitis and not the eyeshadows themselves!

I already had conjunctivitis before I got the eyeshadows, and it wasn't bacterial, it's from having really bad hayfever for weeks and weeks. Yours could possibly be from the testers? If people are touching them with their grubby fingers it's possible. I order most of my makeup online, but whenever I go to a store, all I can think about it how much bacteria must be growing on the tester products. LOL!

I've tried dalliance on the lid and unflappable on the outer corner and crease too but on me was a grey-gold look ^^ unfortunally unflappable doesn't seem really purple on me

After over a month from its release here, I finnnnalllly got my Peacocky haul! (Except for the amazing Dalliance).

I can't wait to try them! I will most likely try Center Stage tomorrow along with Woo Me. Sadly, the only other thing I got was Noir Plum. I would have loved to divulge in more of these e/s, or at least be able to swatch them in store...as they all just look and sound so lovely from all of your pictures and descriptions!

Makes me wonder if I am missing out on a potential staple....

I have been skipping a lot of stuff, even things that I really want..but there are times where an item really stands out and even becomes a part of your daily routine

I think Center Stage will be that one for me....I'm sure Dalliance & Mehr would have too if they were not sold out :(

^^^ And I thought I was the last one to get my Peacocky haul :) Hope you like what you got. I love the texture of the eyeshadows, they all swatched amazing. From them I got Dandizette (love this nice smooth blue), Prance, Unflappable and Mating Call. Like a lot of others said, the colours are not super special, but the texture is incredible. But I was not able to find a dupe for Mating Call, it looked very different to the other purples in the permanent line. But the real standouts for me were the lipcolours, I got Flaunting It , Scandelicious  and Woo Me. They feel great and are super-easy to apply. Today I went back for Love Peck. Unfortunately Super was sold out.

There are a few other colours I would have loved to try! Really can't wait to try Center Stage, heheh. I did try Woo Me today, I lovvvve the feel! & it is such a nice nude without washing me out one ounce. I could look like I wasn't wearing anything! I did one swipe for the whole lip and it almost felt like it seemed to "set" itself, or "lock" itself in rather, lol.

Jenn - thank you so much!!

Hehe I got my 2nd Peacocky haul today too!

I'm so happy I decided to get SoY. The reddish glow in it is gorgeous. Also got Dalliance and I must say, I would've regretted not buying it. Just want to take a moment here and thank everyone who kindly enabled me to buy both

OK, I swear, this time I'm really done with this collection, for sure, no fooling, I have to stop. It's so funny, because I started off loving the lippies, but the shadows just continued to stick with me for so long that I just kept picking them up, one by one. I now bought So Vain (first lippie I purchaed since my initial splurge) and Tweet Me... So that brings the final list to:

Shadows:
Dalliance
Prance
Mating Call
Tweet Me
Paparazz-she
Noir Plum

Kissable Lip Colours:
So Vain
Temper Tantra
Peacocky
Scandelicious
Love Peck

Beyond a doubt my favourite collection so far this year.

Ugh UPS delivered my package with Dalliance and Mating Call to the wrong house or something. It says it was delivered at 7:21pm and there were people at my house, but no package came.

UPS won't do anything, and I called MAC but they say I have to wait 24 hours before they can reship my order and file a claim with UPS.

I didn't expect it at all, but it turned out to be my favorite collection too!! I find every eyeshadow color is great and the only restraint I have is when I could convince myself I'm not wearing that color too often or there's a similar tone in my collection. It's the only collection I've spent 150 Euros on.

.

My thoughts so far on the stuff I have:
- Dalliance: best texture ever, so creamy, smooth, and pigmented. Unfortunately, it's not the most easy to work with for me because of the contrast it has on my skintone.
- Tweet Me: this is easily my go to shade. It's one of those shades that would make my eyes look brighter and awake. No brainer.
- Paparazz-she: a surprise winner! So far my experience with orange shades was a let down, but this shade is super pretty AND it's very flattering on me. It made me look luminous somehow. I think it's because P-S is less red than the other orange shade I tried on. Texture wise, it's also one of the prettiest!
- Odalisque: I love the color, but it needs effort to make it work on me. I see it as one of those special shades I don't get to wear when I'm in a rush. I like it as a special shade. I just wish I could wear it more often though!
- Spectacle of Yourself: I couldn't think of anything special on this one. It's very pretty for crease color. I don't have anything close to this shade so it's good. I have yet to use it with other color than P-S, so let's see.
- Unflappable: It's perfect for smoked purple look. I have a color similar to this, but nowhere as near pigmented and easy to put on!

I also love the Kissable lips texture. Although for me, it doesn't do much for my dry lips. It is more moisturizing than MAC lipstick, but I still get dry lips after a couple of hours. I didn't go crazy on the lip colors because I've been buying lots of lipcolors before and I think it should be enough for the next couple of months. I have Flaunting It & Super.

I agree that this is going to be the IT collection for me for this year. Everything is just so wearable...

I am goin to purchase a fair bit from wonderwoman (not launched here yet though...still waiting :( , but i don't think i'm goin to purchase as many items as i did as what i did with Peacocky.

Honestly, this has by far been the best collection from mac for quite sometime. Ty MAC for releasing such a wonderful collection and keep up the good job. Maybe they could release eyeshadows in a similar texture but in smaller pots? Cause i don't think i can ever finish using the ones from peacocky. They are so.... HUGEEE..

Just a note of caution, I noticed that the eyeshadows from this collection are more fragile than the normal ones, pls do NOT drop them onto the floor, they will break into smithereens... Handle with care.

Hi Ladies ,

newhere.gif

I am new to Specktra and new to MAC. I have only ordered 3 items from Peacocky so far including Nior Plum, Prance and Super Kissable Lipcolour. There's a few others I need including Dalliance but I need more fundage!

I placed a fairly large order for those 3 and quite a few standard MAC shadows, lipsticks and blushes via Debenhams but have to say their service is worrying (having only ordered online at MAC UK before...). Have any of you ordered from Debenhams? And if so, how did you find the whole process?

I'm looking forward to becoming an active Specktra memeber. Btw, do you have a FOTD thread?

Thanks guys!
