*sighs* I'm starting to think my quad just isn't meant to be. I really can't afford it next week, and all of the swatches we've seen so far loo pretty bad with the exception of the perm Lucky Green.... So, just the BPs since I can't pass them up, Ever Hip, and Now In Season. Possibly Bows & Curtseys as well.
i use my beauty powders as blushes but that is becaise i'm pretty pale so they show up on me. some people use them as highlighters too.

lol this is exactly what I'm thinking - I don't NEED the beauty powder as it probably won't show up on my NC35 skin but I WANT one cause of the pretty imprint! :/

Thanks LMD84, I have 2 beauty powders that I use as blushers but I find them too big for just a blusher...will never hit pan on it...lol I'm a NW25...so far most will show up but are they suppose to be a finishing powder?

well i'm not sure to be honest. most of them seem to have some ind of sparkle or sheen to them which wouldn't be best for face powder - either that or they are the wrong colour to match everybodies skintones. but i have only been collecting mac since 2004/5 so perhaps they did earlier ones that you could use all over?

Just wanna say that I love, love, love the promo pic for this collection. So beautiful and feminine without being too cutesy. I love flowers, ruffles, bows and lace. I'm a girly girl like that, but in a fresh, sophisticated way. Well done, Mac. ETA: Now that I've seen Green is Green mascara in practice, I'll pass. It's not very noticeable. I'll stick to my Chanel Inimitable.

I agree on the promo pic. It looks like a late 19th century painting brought to life. Makes me wish I wanted more from the collection. I know I'll probably end up succumbing to the temptation of one or two things, but I do miss the feeling of being excited about a Mac collection. I suppose this is just going back to my regular pattern, though, of being indifferent to collections in the first part of the year and then then getting excited when the Fall ones come out. Last year was sort of exceptional in that I found things I liked in virtually every collection.

Yeah the promo pic is gorgeous. The last couple of mac promos have been a bit rubbish (I loved the imagery of Quite cute, but the actual makeup in the picture was horrible!) This is the first promo in a while which has made me think "I want one of everything that they used on her face!" haha.

I have several Illamasqua blushes and I agree they are great. I just don't have Hussy yet and when she said AG was more pigmented than Hussy then that perked me up. Didn't pay attention to MAC's price assumed it was cheaper just because. If AG doesn't swatch better than Illamasqua then I'll just return it. And I never smell my blushes. Ha! I'll go smell them now.

Y'all got me thinking something is wrong with me, or I am missing something. I don't like this collection. I don't care for lip gelees and I don't really understand what beauty powders are for. How are they different the MSF?
Do you really like summer showere? How would you wear it?

[/quote] There's nothing wrong with you if you don't like the collection. Plenty of people don't like lipgelee's. It's a love it or leave type of product. I've said before that BP's can be blush(either if you're very pale, or if a particular shade happens to be pigmented enough) or it can be used as an all over face powder. The ones in this collection don't excite me, personally. I have one from Stylishly Yours that's pretty shimmery and so I use that as a highlighter. Then, I have one from Hello Kitty that is matte and blends in with my skin so I use that to set my foundation. They differ from MSF's because they lack the pigment of MSF's and the shimmer. They are much more subtle. I like the idea of Summer Shower. I had decided to skip it, but that may change once I swatch it. It would go great with any of the lipgelee's in this collection or some of the glosses from Fab Felines (the green and the blue). It's meant to be layered with other products unless your lips are very pale. Then, it may show up well on it's own. I do think it would've been better if it were a lustre instead of a glaze. :dunno:
