Wow, I would say the opposite. As the polish is clear, it does not look at all like the promo pic. It's plain ol' clear n/p with glitter thrown in it. I tried to love it, but it did not work out for me. At all.

I didn't find it to be anything special(and I have been really into MAC's polishes lately)....But then I saw a girl next to me at the counter layer it over her purply nailpolish and it was gorgeous...she was so happy she just about squealed

Yes, maybe layering will work. I didn't try it out.

I tried mine layered too, over very dark green - it certainly helps to play up the texture and downplay the pretty standard opalescent color. People will need to try it out for themselves if they're interested in this one - it's on the edge between nice and junky.

I'm sooooo in

with both b/p. SG is the perfect all-over highlighter for me, whereas HB is a very natural, subtle cheek flush. I'm rocking it with Seaside on the lids + Sand & Sea e/s on top + Carbonized in the crease. A hint of Seeds of Desire sheered out on the lip. OMG, it's gaaawwwgous.

I think I might go BU-crazy for both b/p.

This is definitely a collection one should play with before purchasing if at all possible. There are certain collections that I buy alot of every year and the holiday color story is one of them (Antiquitease is one of my all time favorite collections). Last year was a disappointment for me and this year I was more selective.

I ended up with:

Winterize and Shimmermint MES (my Winterize is gorgeous with lots of navy, burgandy and silver veining). Shimmermint was a surprise purchase. I don't wear green shadow. I only own 1. But this is a gorgeous shade. Someone likened it to a mermaid type color and I agree. Lou, you will love this.

Unconditionally Fabulous n/p Love this for layering.

Snowglobe b/p Elegant, you have to get this one.

Let's Skate and For Effect p/p Surprisingly my favorites of the collection. They are beautiful colors and will layer well with MES and just about everything else. I may b/u these products

The duo fiber brush set Haven't used these yet.

I wasn't as thrilled with the lipsticks this year. Such Flare just doesn't seem that unique to me and I just bought a beautiful new Chanel red.
I have the repromoted dazzleglasses already.

The gift sets were nice for new collectors but nothing special for hardcore MAC addicts especially if you've been with the brand as long as I have.

No technakohls for me. I just got one of the new UD gift sets and I have several MUFE pencils that I adore. None of the colors were that special.

My sell out predictions (based on board chatter, sales at the unveiling and personal opinion):
