I hear you sister! I am giving you giant hugs!!!! Everywhere I have ever lived has been ridiculous earthquake prone and I have been through enough big ones that now I just flip out and start running when anything over 4.0 hits......I have been reduced to a blubbering earthquake panicker and it ain't pretty....let's hope my new home in London doesn't drop a random big one on me!

*hugs* I basically flipped, and it wasn't even that big lol! I'm such a wuss!!

Hi Mac-Guy. I'm so tempted to run to the pro store today to check out the collection. I really want the MES but I haven't really seen many swatches yet so I don't even know what veining to ask for. Unfortunately, this new Pro store has all the products in the back so you can't peek in the drawers to see the different ones. I'm thinking I may just wait 'til launch day and go to a regular store. Next week right? Besides, I just called the Pro store and they said they only have part one of the holiday collection. Will everything be in stores next week?

They probably meant that the next part - the pigments - are not out yet.

I was thinking the same thing.

I've got no idea and can't really comment on how it has been swatched by others.

However, How Beautiful b/p is one of the more strongly pigmented b/p that are out there, so it definitely shows up if applied correctly. But yes, a finger swatch will definitely cause the product to film up and swatches will look dull or do not show up at all.

that I could only visit my haul at my MAC store and not take it home. Ah well, got to see its pretty packaging!

I really do like Soft Sable. I'm partial to cool-toned lippies and that one called out to me. Didn't pick it up because I don't think it will be a huge seller and I can pick it up later. Such Flare was pretty but too warm for me. What Joy! is so pretty in the white packaging. Frankly if it was in the regular packaging I wouldn't have given it a second look.

Oh, I'm sure you know what I *meant*

After writing programming code all day I was lucky to not walk into the mall with toilet paper hanging out of my pants. The white cap on the bottle looked pretty. I got a kick out of watching one of the SAs take it off the display she set up to swatch the polish on her nails.

Technakohl liners are on my short list. Not fond of them. They run, I don't like the twist-up thing (NARS does it MUCH better). I had one technakohl and to this day it is still sitting around hardly used. Ugh. Why MAC didn't come out with more Pearlglides I'll never know. That formula rocks!

I picked up She-Zam and I love how it looks. Would have gone for Love Alert but I picked up Chanel's Holiday 2011 gloss instead. Much thicker formula and lasts longer.

Oh goodness! {{{hugs}}} Quakes suck. Hated them when I lived in LA and flipped out when one hit near here.
Ah ok, this makes sense now. I thought you were either referring to the bottle or the content, both of which looked clear in my store, but I know that in some promo pics, the content looked white. Thanks for clarifying.

Has anyone tried these technakohl eyeliners? are they as bad as Temptalia is saying? I personally have never tried these types of liners and I was wondering if they are worth purchasing!

I did not find the t/k particularly dry. In fact, they swatched rather effortlessly on my skin. See the swatch above that I posted a few weeks back. And this is just one stroke back and forth. I don't find them dryer than the regular MAC pencil, nor were they any creamier. What I like about the t/k is that they are waterline safe and they last a long time w/s smudging. If you apply it, make sure that you waterline is rather dry - as dry as it can get - so you can apply it in one go (this goes for all pencils).

I only buy new pencils once I have used the colors that I have in my stash as I believe in finishing a product. Thus, I haven't bought any yet, but plan on getting the gold and the blue one (though the latter reminds me of Blue Noon).

Yes, Pearlglides would have been a perfect fit with this collection.

As I stated earlier, using a clean brush is crucial. I was the first one to swatch this baby, so I didn't encounter any issues. A few weeks later at the party, however, all the testers were in a rather unattractive state due to finger swatches, which affected the ability to see the real potential of this b/p. It seems that these particular b/p are very prone to getting filmed up, but if you take good care of them, I don't foresee any issue.

However, if you are unsure, go and swatch the product in a store (and ask for the clean tester if the one doesn't work anymore - stores should have enough testers in stock!).

To me, HB b/p is truly a beauty-powder-fied version of Seaside CCB, with a touch of bronze. It's absolutely gorgeous. And yes, I rave about products, but only the ones I really love.

I finally remembered to check out the products I'm interested in on my lunch break today and I was impressed with all of them.

For Effect: amazing! Its very pigmented and if you are looking for a dark gray paint pot, this is the one to get. I hate glitter, and this one seemed to have a good amount without being over obnoxious. I read the review at Temptalia and I was confused, I didn't get too much fallout when I swatched it on my hand. I rubbed over it a few times and the glitter stayed intact. I don't think I would try to use it as an eyeliner like she did, even though its bold and dark enough to do so. Its not smooth like an eyeliner and if you attempt to thin it out and line your eyes with it, glitter is going to fall out. Its nice to get an opinion on it, but I don't think it was used like a paint pot should be used in the review. For Effect will make a great base for grays, blues, and even black shadow. As a matter of fact, its a good base to use, especially with mattes, that way you can set the glitter and still get a pretty glittery effect.

How Beautiful: I really love this BP. It looks brown in the pan, but on the skin its just like what MAC-Guy said, it looks like the Seaside CCB. As a matter of fact, I want to get Seaside now because its compliments How Beautiful well, so I will be able to set it now.

HB swatched fine on me and it offered enough oompf as far as I'm concerned. If you have darker skin, and the color is light, its going to show up... Its not overpowering or glittery, and it offers a nice sheen. Because I am darker, I don't like to go overboard with shimmer and shine. HB is suble, but it pops! I know for sure if you are NW43 and up, you are going to make out good with this BP. Its going to be a great highligher.

What Joy! So pretty. Berries are my thing. I don't like too many of the MAC perm berries, but I love the LE ones. WJ is brighter than Hang Up to me. Brighter can be more flattering and festive especially during the holidays! I didn't think it was too deep, and the white packaging... yes please!

So there is my review on the few things I want. The MES weren't really worth my time this go round. They are just too pastel.

Oh and where are the blushes??? No blush pans this holiday???? that's crazy!

Brown in the pan. On the skin, it shows up with a little gold, a little peach.
When I saw For Effect, I thought about Hocus Pocus. They would work well together

I didn't find it gritty. To each their own. If you can swatch it, do so

HEY! Happy Birthday in advance!

totally agree!
Seaside over and/or under HB looks so beautiful. These products complement each other so well.

I'm on the fence about Snow Globe. Luckily I'm not lemming after anything else. The shadows are nothing unique and I like my lippies to be semi-opaque to opaque. The lipsticks that are opaque are very similar to what I already have. (Seriously, I don't need another red. XD)

MAC-GUY swear you are a god!! hehe every time im confussed about a product i read thru here and your advice and insight on products clears me up every time.

I have my She-Zam, Shimmermint and Lets skate on its way over to me from Canada. YAH!!

I was starting to think alot about getting fresh ice as well but now im swinging towards snow globe as a different option to MSF, i have pale nw20 skin and i love a bright eye and i like the way mac guy described it as giving an all over glow to my face, i dont use bronzers at all but a glow like that would be so pretty in summer with it fast approaching here in australia. I was disappointed at temptalias reviews and im starting to not rely on her opinion as much now. Because collections take so long to get here i like to see the swatches but i just think she is getting a tad critical or maybe tad big headed???

I also recieved my beautysoclean today... and macguy as always 100% correct... cleaning blush brush every time now has improved application and my powder... once a week was just not the way to go for that stunner

What do you all think about the packaging?

I find it a little plain and boring. I wish it had some special design on it and not just a plain white color.

I won't be able to make it to a store once this collection launches because I'll be out of town =(
I'll trust your word, as well as sss215's, and probably just order it online. I've been excited about it since you first swatched it. I'm not going to let one person's not so appealing swatches turn me off :p
