MAC Glitter and Ice Discussion

I picked up the 2 items that were must haves for me: Shimmermint and For Effect. For Effect is absolutely gorgeous and really made Shimmermint pop! It has the most gorgeous multi-colored glitter ever. I can't wait to use For Effect with Cinderfella, Young Punk, She Who Dares, and my BB Black Sparkle e/s. I also love Shimmermint and did not get the fall out that a lot of people have mentioned. Mine is rich in color and wonderful. I asked the MA to let me see all that they had in stock (8) and I chose the most varied one. Like others have said. the combo of Shimmermint and For Effect is to die for. I bought two (2) of the brush sets. I got the Mineralize and the Essential. After using MAC's regular brushes for a few months, I can't say from initial touch that the SE ones feel significantly different.

Thank you for your swatches and brush reviews!! Really helpful and pretty and makes me want more than I have ordered!! I'm a girl that loves banging colour eyes to and over the mixing medium is something I had never thought of as I tend to use primer and paint pot for pressed shadow and mixing mediums for loose shadows and pigments... You have got me thinking and wanting to start experimenting... Thank you!!! :bouquet:

Loving all the reviews and swatches especially the brush photos... So glad they are getting good reviews after the bloggers weren't feeling them. Just wondering what you think of mixing medium shine. Okay, so I'm really trying not to cave in and buy anything but that duo fiber brush set looks and sounds really good to me right now. Must maintain self-control!

This won't help, but MAC MA told me the 282 SE and 286 SE are new brushes and limited edition. That's what pushed me over the edge lol.
I think the tapered brush is being released just after Christmas in the naturally collection. I am still getting this collection tho cause I love duo fibre brushes, the sizes are handy for travel and the handles look fab!

I finally got time to play with my goodies!
Shimmermint: Hello lover we will get along fabulously! Oh my goodness if you like glitter (which I adore) you really need this shadow. With NARS primer and a little Fix + it was very much the hotness. Too bad my husband was out of town or I would have made him take me out immediately after I put it on I was feeling myself that much.
Yes, this is a winner in my book.
Snow Season: Thanks EngineerBarbie for the recommend! Love it. Rosey-champagne color on me. Good color payoff that was easy to build. It's great by itself which is always a winner in my book.
Hold that Pose: Well I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. I bought it thinking it might look odd on me but will work for my neice. Sorry neice, you'll have to get your own.
On me, this shadow kind of turns a bit silverish, but it's just warm enough that I don't look like I'm channeling Tammy Faye Baker (RIP). I combined it with UD's Gunmetal shadow and was pleasantly surprised. It also looked fabulous with black.
Now seeing all the reviews on the brush sets I may end up with those. I was hoping they would end up at a CCO, but they seem to be quite popular so maybe not.

The only set I am usnure will end up at the CCO is the Mineralized set. IMO it gets the most buzz. The others (IMO) are much more likely to end up there.
