I'm debating How Beautiful b/p. I'm pale and dont do bronzers so I figured this was a subtle way of warming up my face. My biggest reserve is I heard it emphasizes pores and almost in my 30's, I cant have that.

What do you guys think?

I think I picked up about 5 (or is it 6) of them along with the little mini np set that I shipped to my sister in South Korea on Saturday. Some pics are in my Tumblr feed. I wish Specktra had an iPhone app.

The colour should be fine for you but it does have some shimmer. I'm 38 and I find a little bit of glow more flattering than a flat matte but it's true that this could emphasize pores.

I'm NW10ish and I find the easiest way to add soft warmth is with a sheer gel-type bronzer or a bronzing tinted moisturizer.

How Beautiful actually looked really nice on me. I just didn't buy it because of the amount of talc it has and because I have other products that create the same effect.

Fresh Ice is so gorgeous but I ended up buying Chanel's Platine Soft Touch es instead as I liked the look texture & color just a bit more.
I've been thinking a lot about what it is about Fresh Ice and really, the other MES in this collection, that is getting to me. On my young MUAs, they look incredibly smooth and light reflective and yet with a hint of sheerness that is so gorgeous. Meanwhile, on me it's so much work to get equally nice. Was it my brush or how I primed my eyes first or was it just a fact of life that I don't have eyelids in their 20's anymore? I actually have pretty smooth lids for my age, but they ain't what they used to be, honey!

Tonight, I think I just figured it out! I busted out Golden Gaze today - automatically fantastic as usual - and I realized that all the G&I MES have the exact same texture, density and shimmer level, except Golden Gaze has a black base, that hides all sins of time, while Fresh Ice and the other lighties have a clear silver base, which doesn't hide anything. Honestly, that new skunk eye brush is probably the key to the lightest possible application, which would counteract the thickness of these MES, which is what makes them tougher for me (but just fine for someone younger). Using a duo-fiber brush certainly is the ticket to faultless application of glitter MSFs to prevent accentuating the pores and certainly the same principle applies here, but I didn't get that brush set yet, so this is still theory. Spritzing w/ Fix+ AFTER application helps too - fact, not theory.

I really like the direction the MES are going, texture-wise, but with this silverly version, it's not fool-proof for everyone. It's like the Big Bounce Shadows. When those didn't work, they REALLY did not work....they weren't colors that hid anything and had to be perfect for your skin tone and eye color, or else. It just happens that Cool Elite BB was one of the best, while Fresh Ice is another cool white, but much less forgiving. I was hoping to have a few different bright white eye products, since when they work, they can be so new looking and flattering. That's why I posted that pic. of me with Fresh Ice - it's got a lot of potential, even if it's tricky. That Chanel Illusion D'Ombre shadow in white is probably the best way to go for ease of use in a cool white, but so pricey (shiver).

I finally got to open my stuff yesterday! ( My BF kept the box as it is a bday present). First of all, MAC Guy- THANK YOU for convincing me to order How Beautiful bp!!!!! It is so gorgeous, it's not even funny!
I also got Dressed to Dazzle d/g, so pretty! All of my d/g are bright crazy colors, so I thought it would be fun to have a neutral one. It really is lovely on its own, and looked nice over my favorite nude lippie, Innocence Beware!
Snow Season and Fresh Ice are gorgeous as well. Fresh Ice is really just a highlight shade, but I'm a sucker for pretty highlight shades! Snow Season looks really flattering with my green eyes.
Finally, I also got Unconditionally Fabulous n/p. I know China Glaze Snowglobe is a purported dupe, but I think Unconditionally Fabulous looks prettier!! I haven't tried it yet though.

Anyway, I love my goodies! I am also going to get the coral lip Dazzlesphere and the neutral one. I'm debating on the pink.

This was originally on my list, but I had to pass, it did nothing for me. I'm sure it would be pretty layered, but have other stuff to buy this month, and buying it just b/c is not an option right now :/
Oh, & I got my Whirls & Twirls. Its a barely there shimmer. I can't decide how I feel about it yet. Its pretty & meh
hmm.gif
I will try it over other ls & see if I still like it.

Well, I caved and bought How Beautiful. I'm 47 years old and about NC25, so hopefully it won't look silly on me. I'm not too wrinkly yet, but would like a little extra color on my face in the winter but not as much as a bronzer will give me.

I finally picked up my pre-order from this collection. I got seasonally spiced technakohl, how beautiful b/p, the mineralized brush set, morning frost, and what joy. My two must haves from the collection: how beautiful and what joy! How beautiful gives your skin just a very subtle warmth (very smooth and its hard to over do it), while what joy is that perfect holiday berry. I'm still on the fence about going back for winterized. I think silver veining is the key.....

Noooo silly, it will be fine for you because its so finely milled & a very subtle glow . I will be 52 Friday (no wrinkles ...yet) & I don't do anything overly metallic or shiny. Its lovely.

Yeah, I agree with all of the above. It does become trickier the older you get. Fortunately, I don't have issues even at my age but its not quite the youthful skin it used to be

The Chanel Platine has great texture & is only $7 more than the MAC ones. The Chanel Soft Touch shadows are lovely.

You look LOVELY in your new pic!!!!!

I don't do bronzers either & I adore this powder. Its only warmth. If you use a fan or fiber brush lightly, it shouldn't emphasize pores...like Liba said.

If you look at any of the catalog or other photos of the Victoria Secret hotties...they have something like this lightly brushed right over their makeup ;)

My For Effect just arrived a few minutes ago! It looks a bit similar to MUFE #1, but MUFE # is a little darker with finer shimmer.
