MAC Glitter and Ice Discussion

How is everyone using Winterized? I just got it and I'm not sure about it. The colour is complex, that's for sure (blue, grey, taupe, purple, brown) but it looks a bit dirty on me and takes quite a bit of building up to get the pigmentation I want. I'm wearing it tonight with Moon's Reflection on the lid, Winterized in the crease blended out with Omega, Creamy Bisque as a highlight and in the inner corner, Unflappable Mega Metal in the outer v and Moth Brown under the lower lashes. I'm really pleased with how the look turned out but I'm still feeling a bit iffy on Winterized... The winner from this collection for me is definitely Soft Sable lipstick. I love it so much and I'm definitely getting backups! Snowglobe is pretty too.

I wore winterized in the crease with shimmermint on the lid with let's skate as a base and it was sexy! There are about a million combos I want to try with winterized.

Use something dark for a base, if you want a dark smokey eye, then the entire lid, or use the dark base in just the outer crease. I've used "For Effect" and the Diamond Bounce and the black paint pot, all work well. Or, you could use the black grease stick. Then, using a smaller brush, find the darker veins in the Winterized shadow and pat it onto the areas you want dark. Then, if you want a lighter inner eye or even all over, using a larger brush, find the lighter veins in the Winterized shadow and pat that onto the areas you want light. I've also used a light or pale lilac shadow as a wash over the inner corner up to the brow (Her Alter Image). I have also used the "For Effect" all over the lid and washed the Winterized over this and then used a dark violet liner. This will make green eyes really green. At least it did mine.

Hope this helps!

Got my 2nd haul from this collection!
How Beautiful b/p- When I first opened it I was like crap its dark (for my superpaleness) I dont like bronzers so I was scared. But when I put it on my face I LOVE it! It warms up my pale face while giving me a warm glow, I didnt expect that! Perfect subtle bronzer color.

Pleasure Principle and She-Zam d/g's- Love them both! They are so pretty, But d/g's are my fav lipgloss so that was to be expected. I do really hate the little amount you get for the price cause I use them up pretty fast, but I love them so much I get them anyways! lol Good thing is it's so thick and sticky that you dont need to use much. Both look great over Gaga 1.

Gaga Viva Glam lipbag- Loving the red bag that it comes in! I never got to see Gaga 1 so I was super excited to finally see it. And I absolutely LOVE it! Not chalky, too dark, or too pale. Its the perfect blue-pink lippy. It looks great with PP n SZ d/g's. I already own Gaga 2, but it's not really flattering on me so I'll prob give it away.

Couple questions...
I just cant seem to get soft sable to look right on me, any suggestions?
Does anyone know what page mac-guy talks about preserving paint pots in the Posh Paradise thread? I tried searching for it and cant find it. I still got my two p/p's from this collection in the fridge and I'm aching to use them so bad! Esp after hearing all the wonderful things about them. I'm this close to getting back-ups so I can use them, even though I've got 5 p/p's from PP and 5 aqua creams, should I just wait?

Soft sable is great over cool toned lipsticks. Try a purple. Wearing it on its own its hard to pull off. It's mostly for layering.

Yep, it's definitely easy to spend a few hundred dollars on this collection. If you got all 3 paint pots, a beauty powder, and an MES that puts you at $100 already!

I ended up with 2 paint pots (Morning Frost and Let's Skate), 2 MES (Fresh Ice and Snow Season), and Snowglobe from this collex and I am super happy with the items I picked. I even have a backup each of Snowglobe and Let's Skate on the way to me and was thinking about backing up my MES. But I figure there will be lots more MES and other lovelies to come so instead of getting more of the same I will save to get new things later!

Snowglobe was the sleeper hit for me, I didn't understand it at first but after talking with a really lovely MA and her showing me Snowglobe with a blush on my cheeks I was sold.
exactly! i don't feel like i bought much but i spent about £100!

Winterized is in stock on the Debenhams website and there's 10% off all beauty at the moment! I knew this would happen, having chased it down and ordered it from Mac mail order having to pay postage as well. Oh well, never mind. ;)

Thanks - I think I'll try it over a dark base today :)

RRRRG, why did it take them so long to get it up??? I am now totally set having bought one via mail order and another on ebay (it was the only way I could see the veining to choose one I knew I would like!). Whatever, I am happy that others can now enjoy this awesome shadow! I am wearing it again (5th day in a row!), today in outer "V" with Sweet Sienna pigment on middle lid and Sunnydaze on inner 1/3, Out to Sea powerpoint and Jealousy wakes on lower lashline. Beautiful as ever! I am in LOVE.

I'm thinking of doing a Whirls & Twirls BU. I am not a fan of back-ups but I have already made a major dent in the lipstick and I've had it less than a month!
I think I might get Frozen Blue too.. and Eloquent Air. Still haven't picked up a Dazzlesphere. Not sure how I feel about them....

Enabler alert: I'd say do it. I back up the things I know I will get considerable use out of, but more along the lines of good every day colors. I got BUs of all three paint pots, and Whirls & Twirls because I know I will use them :)

I stopped in to the MAC store today to look at the Dazzlespheres and while it's a great deal for the Dazzleglass spheres, I wasn't really drawn to any of the colors.
