It is an interesting product that kind of defies description (at least by me).

I don't even know what that is, so I can't compare it.

I have and I like it. I am still going to pick the MAC one up as I hear it's amazing. I just wondered what if any differences there were.

the texture reminded me of benefit's dr feelgood.... but not as thick. I stopped using benefit's bc of the thickness

As I've said elsewhere, I am really looking forward to the serum, now that my daily hydrating serum from Rodial has been discontinued. Here's hoping the MAC one is just as good - it'll certainly be a better price, as the Rodial was $$$.

I don't like to go a day without a good moisturizing serum as a base for my moisturizer. It's easy for me to get away with just a little concealer or semi-transparent powder (like Careblend, MCLP or the magical Elude), when my face is properly prepped with the right sort of serum + moisturizer.

All the folks at my store have been raving to me about the pore minimizer since last November

so that's bound to be a good one. Anything to avoid using foundation is my motto

The MI serum is well priced, especially as it comes as 50 ml instead of 30 ml (like a lot of serums). As it is quite liquid-y, you don't need a lot either, so it will go a long way, even if you use it daily. I'd say it will last 4 - 6 months (if used once per day). Not bad at all!

Is the serum a primer aswell as a hydrating serum? I love my clarins hydraquench serum and I was looking at smashboxs hydrating primer for days when my skin is particularly bad but if the new mac serum is also a primer then I would go for that as a worry about the silicone in the smashbox primers. I can not wait for the compact. I am really excited. Ordinarily I have large pores on the face but since I became pregnant they have decided to crop up all over my face. My local mua were very excited about the compact and I got the impression you could wear it under or over foundation

If that is true I will definitely stick with the compact. It was amazing at hiding pores but I just didn't like the idea of applying it over my foundation.

I'd say it is more a hydrating serum rather than a primer. You might call it a primer if you think if the hydrating qualities as a primer, though for me, it is only about hydration and getting a dewy finish, which is so fashionable this season.

I think you can wear the compact over or under your foundation, though if you want to make sure to scoop product out of the compact to avoid double-dipping.

Another thought: If you have larger pores, you probably want to stay clear from light-reflecting products, which are likely to emphasize pore. Have you tried photo/light therapy and cleansing devices such as the Clarisonic to deal with enlarged pores? It might be a better option instead of trying to cover them up (which will be impossible to do).

I am actually planning on buying the clarisonic Mia but since my skin is so hypersensitive and reactive at the moment with the pregnancy I am going to wait to get the clarisonic until after the baby is born. Most of my skincare problems at the mo are hormonal based so there isn't much I can do. I am just striping back my skincare routine to the basics- items I love that I know work for me- so as not to irritate my skin further during the pregnancy but I am really excited to try the Mia when I do get it

I didn't know you were pregnant. Congratulations!

I'm not sure if it is available in the UK, but Clarisonic just released an acne brush head (don't know the exact name), which is supposed to be suitable for super sensitive skin (as in not irritating it anymore). It might be something to keep an eye on when you make your purchase.

Good to hear that the serum is moisturizing. I use the Skin Brightening serum which I love but I find it a bit drying sometimes. I was thinking about mixing a bit of the new serum with it to see if helps.

I wouldn't mix it. But you could use the brightening serum at night (if you want to stick to it) and the MI serum during the day.

I think that serums works best in concentrated form, so mixing them would probably dilute them. I hope this makes sense.

Is there a website where the ingredients of the serum are listed? My skin is very, very finicky. I am pretty happy with my current serum but this MAC one is pretty good deal for the amount in the package!

I can post them tomorrow (if you can wait).
