Mac Pro Palettes discussion

You could get a small Z-palette to transport your blush of the day, then put it back into your palette.
LOL. I'm glad I bought some backup e/s palettes. I toyed with getting a blush palette or two, but I bring my blush to the office with me for touchups. Depotting them would prevent that, although I love the look of the six-palette.

I asked him, and he said around 27. He didn't know the exact number.

Glad I could help! :) I didn't get to see the double layer ones, but he did mention that they would be like a book.
This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship...wish I had a Pro store to check them out in person, but I bet there will be youtube virtual demonstration soon

I know it'll be more expensive, but I'll probably end up getting the new palette with the double inserts. I like the idea of having my MAC shadows in a MAC palette, the clear lid, and being able to flip through colors like a book. I'm a sucker for this type of stuff. I love boxes and storage and keeping things neat, tidy and together. I'll pay the extra money if it satisfies my (sometimes irrational) need for organization.
I am the same!

He showed me the case and the insert separately. The palette itself had the clear lid, and he said it was magnetic on its own, so it essentially was like a Z palette. The insert didn't have any sort of lid of it, and I didn't get to hold it myself, but it didn't look like it would be magnetic on its own. Since the case on its own is magnetic, maybe they didn't want back to back magnetic surfaces, if that makes sense lol. He did put the insert it for me to see, and it basically looked like current palettes.
Thanks!

So if you just use it without an insert you don't need magnets on the back of the pan but if you use the insert you do?? So confused. I wish this would just come out already.

I dropped by the MAC f/s store after dinner tonight and saw the new palettes. I didn't have time to ask a lot of questions. I was so set on saving money by stocking up on the old style online, but I don't know if I can resist CLEAR LIDS! Trying to convince myself that I'll go crazy cleaning off powder dust all the time...

Wait, the new palettes are available at free standing stores? I was at one tonight and could've asked about them. I'll call tomorrow to see if they have them.

Sold! And this pic confirms that I do need to get the inserts. I don't want my shadow pans touching and I want them to be perfectly aligned.

nudibelle, you can still get them without being PRO. You can call and order them from any PRO store. You'll just have to pay for shipping and you won't get the PRO discount. If you're near a PRO store, you can just go in and buy them.

I think I need the inserts as well. It's one thing to have them unaligned when I can't see them all the time. But seeing them in a disarray through the clear lids would drive me CRAZY!

And yes, i was at a f/s store. I dropped by to see if they had anymore old style palettes in stock and she showed me these instead. Definitely call your local store and find out!

You can get these at a regular f/s store (and I'd imagine they'd be on the MAC website soon). The 12/24 inserts are only available at Pro stores, but you can walk in and pay full price for them (or call in an order if you don't have a Pro store near you). Thanks for linking the pics!
