You are lucky! All of my local malls will be crazy busy on Friday, so I usually skip Black Friday mall shopping. I may order a few things online however.
The mall I'm going to is closed for remodeling. Only three stores are still open during the remodel because they have their own store entrances. Macy's is one of the stores. There also doesn't seem to be a lot of traffic at this mall in general. I'm not expecting a ton of people to show up at midnight, and especially not for makeup.

Damnit, RIS is as sheer as it was when it first launched. I was hoping it'd somehow be more opaque this time around. I don't think I want it anymore. *le sigh*

So far,I'm most tempted by Unconventional. I have a lot of pale, cool pink blushes, but it's also a colour I use a lot, so I don't think another would go amiss. I am a bit disappointed that it's not a true lilac, though.
It will show up more lavender-lilac on pale NW complexions. One more yellow-toned complexions, I'm afraid that this asset might get lost though.

Those comparison swatches are great. Does anyone know what Nocturnal Instincts might be similar to? Still wondering if I should pick it up when I pick up my pre-order on Friday.

Thanks for doing this! I think I may skip Night Blooming and just get the two other mattenes - I already have Pink Pigeon! Hooray, getting my list down to two items!
Night Blooming still looks a bit tempting, but I honestly have Pink Pigeon (which isn't my favorite), and Petals & Peacocks, not to mention Quick Sizzle, Zen Rose and Rare Exotic - don't have Dear Diary, which looks most similar to my eye.

If I skip any of them, it'll be Night Blooming.

Well, after visiting a number of swatch links -- thanks to everyone who has posted them!
bouquet.gif
-- my list is diminishing

Mattene Lipstick
=> Nocturnal Instincts - "Mid-tone greyed lavender" - FOR SURE
Seductive Intent - "Vivid purple - maybe, pass if too plum

Lipglass
Revenge is Sweet - "Vivid Purple" - maybe - looks interesting in the tube, but not so good in the lip swatches
=> Perky - "Mid-tone shimmering lilac" - FOR SURE

Powder Blush
=> Unconventional - Pale shimmering lavender - FOR SURE
In some photos it looks too pink, but in others it's definitely lavender - warmer perhaps than Full of Joy but still lavender, and i think those latter are more accurate, i hope, i hope...

So, 3 FOR SUREs, and 2 maybes... but, of course, this could change when i see them "for reals".

Sheesh, this year i've seen a lot of places where the Christmas lights went up the day after Halloween.

That's better than a few years ago when the Christmas stuff went up in mid-September!

So the day after Thanksgiving is just fine with me.

OUT of TOPIC

girls have you seen the blue collection from inglot??? i may get them all.
Inglot+pacific+blue+collection.jpg
So yesterday i hied myself to a mall some distance away through horrible traffic for 3 reasons:
1. To check out the Pacific Blue lipsticks at the Inglot counter in Macy's
2. To test lipsticks from Estee Lauder's Violet Underground Collection at Nordstrom (yeah, i know i'm late)
3. To test 2 hard-to-find Chanel fragrances at Nieman-Marcus.

I struck out on all three:
1. The Inglot counter did not carry the full range of products. The nearest one that does is about 2 hours away.
2. The lip products are still on EL's website, but i wanted to make sure they didn't duplicate some i already have. However, they were sold out at Nordie's and when the counter sells out of limited edition products the manager throws away the testers.
3. The Nieman-Marcus is a small one and doesn't carry the more unusual Chanel fragrances.

So, stressful driving through terrible traffic both ways to and from, a couple gallons of gas wasted and the stuff is darned expensive around here, and nothing to show for it all! Well, ok, i did buy 3 eye shadows at Inglot...

I'm pretty set on my list too:

Nocturnal Instincts - BU possibility is high, since it's greyer than Fresh Amour (which I also love), less white than Quite Cute (another love) and more lavender and deeper than Double Spin (which is yet another love) - put all those together, there's very little chance I won't back it up, unless the texture is chalky or dry like some pale mattenes have been in the past for me.

Seductive Instinct - Definite yes - looks like a lighter, more radiant Heroine. Gorgeous and will be a great year-round color that will look good with and without a tan on me. Do I back it up? Not sure considering I've got plenty of Heroine (that sounds bad, lol), not to mention I know I'll want the purple coming out with Strength too.

Unconventional - Looks like it fixes what I didn't like about FoJ - not powdery. I love the beautiful sheen. The only thing is it may be really close to Sakura, but I bet it will be much longer lasting on my skin than that one and a little more year-round of a color, because it's less bright.

Passionately Tempted: Oh yeah! Been waiting for a color like this that isn't powdery and dry. I'm not worried about T calling it too stiff to blend. She felt the same way about a few other products that work perfectly well for me - sometimes you want something that won't blend down so easily for a strong placement look. I'm not wearing this color to blend it away (or for casual daytime stuff, hehe).

That's it for me. Not interested in the glosses (didn't like RIS back then, no reason my feelings will be different now). Night Blooming is too pink to stand out from all my other pinks - the one I own that's closest (Pink Pigeon), is my least favorite of all my hot pinks and bright fuchsias. I'd rather wear Quick Sizzle or CYY or something more toned down like Zen Rose. Plus, Haute Altitude from Apres Chic is described with the exact same description (mid-tone blue pink) and is an Amplified, which I really like. Archie will have hot pinks too, so I can wait.

I'm curious about Blue Gaze n/p, but it'll have to be reaaaaaallly perfect. I adore Breezy Blue from Chen Man - the best purplish blue I own, so it could go either way. Mac knows how to do a good blue n/p better than most others.

Anyone want to CP me a few items to Canada? I'm wanting seductive intent, Nocturnal instincts, and unconventional, gonna decide on the others by the online launch date :)

I drove by Macy's at 9:30 and there wasn't a car in sight so I think I'm actually considering going to check out this collection. I feel crazy for wanting to enter the midnight madness, but holidays are pretty stressful and this would be a nice break.

I'm wanting Seductive Intent, the blue fluidline (I know it's perm but I've been wanting it) and Unconventional. Maybe the lighter lippie also.

FYI I have found a great MAC counter at one Macy's in town. Most of the employees know me. Well, I'm not feeling well enough to fight with all the traffic because where this mall is has every single store you can imagine on the strip, I just couldnt handle all that stress. So I called & asked if I could pay for what I want, have them put it away & then I can pick it up when I get a chance. the 1 st the person who doesnt really know me said she had to check & explained how I could do it for Marilyn & she said well things have kind of changed. I said well x employee knows me & will vouch for me. POINT IS IF U REALLY WANT SOMETHING CALL YOUR MAC @ Macy's they may do the same for you, especially of you've bought stuff from every single one of them. I wasn't able to go to Thanksgiving with my family, as I am not feeling well, so I'm already down. I thought they aren't going to want to do orders over the phone (I just couldn't leave the house feeling this way) But I tried at around12:05 & they answered & let me do it, I'm a Macy's cardholder too somimdont know if that makes a difference. Kurt wanted to share in case you feel torn about going vs. not going :) Hope everyone had a great day. S~ LOL, I just saw this open when I woke up. I don't know who the hell Kurt is.
