Ah! I remember that. It was not for me. I saw quite a few bimbos celebrities on TV with that look. Glad to hear you've recovered

I also saw a lot of red lipstick with black liner. But i used to hang out in Goth clubs in the 90s - i wore black or MAC Cyber lipstick. My Goth friends were nearly all professionals, most in their 30s and 40s. There was one woman who looked like she was in her late 70s - she wore old worn out faded ivory and white gowns with diaphanous bits of chiffon and taffeta and tulle - like a sweet and kindly Miss Havisham - she was a vendor of Goth-y accessories.

Cyber in the 90s!! yay!! Also yay for wearing white at the goth clubs - I was one of those (when I wasn't all dressed up in 60's psychedelic go-go outfits).

I did have matte taupe lipstick back then too, but from Poppy King, who now does Lipstick Queen - back then, she had the most pigmented matte lipsticks around. Hot Chocolate definitely reminds me of it, haha. The nostalgia factor pushed me over the edge to get it.

I fell IN LOVE with this collection for the most part. I went to a counter and a store today because after I saw the lippies I was hooked.. I had preordered a lot that came on Monday and I knew I liked Amber glow. It is so soft and creates a wonderful glow on me. Today I got Alpine Bronze. I was scared of oompa loompa but it is very nice on me. I am NW 15 or so and I liked it a lot. NOT to contour but as a blush or a light bronzer. It is a true caramel on me and would be a nice highlighter on darker skin tones. I skipped Gentle because I have it and do not love the color.

Frost at Midnight I have to use wet or the color payoff sucks. Fireside, as I said before is like UD Lounge etc on me. It pulls reddish brown. I might use it over the purple Big Bounce and see if it pulls more purple. WP is copper, cinnamon, but more subtle and not as bright. I initally skipped ICE and SB but they turned out to be my favorites. I got them both today. They are SUPER shimmey but it is fine milled and I have not had fall out issues. ICE is nothing like Invincible Light, It is way more pigmented, smooth, and a light gold. Close to white gold pigment. SUPERB for me. SB isn't really silver like I thought. It is more like Modern Pewter. I love it.

Hot Chocolate and AC were sold out at Macy's. I like them both. HA, is going to replace Creme Cup for me. I can't bu that one enough. It is perfect. Cozy Up was eew, kind of like Mocha maybe. IDK but I was not feeling it. I have nothing like AC. It is so wearable but different. HC is bu worthy. It is like NI and Spice had a baby. I love love it but it is a 90's flashback color to me. WC is a super frost, like a lighter frost Cusp of Dawn. It is a gorgeous light nude color but it is FROSTY!!! However, it is not Tyrone Biggums city with it. YAY! I was surprised I liked it and got it.

Lip balms were ok, still sticky. To me the new lipglasses have been far less sticky than in the past and it feels like them. I got the Stay Warm and I can't see a color on it when I wear it. They are suppppper vanilla scented. They are not worth $20 to me.

Stereo Rose is softer but looks way more metallic than the one I have at home. It must be the gold veining. PP this time seems more chalky than before but it was softer/more finely milled IMO.

The liners are ok, I love the teal and agree that the purple super sucks!
I had the same experience. It's the main reason I passed on Frost at Midnight. Went with Silver Birch and Winter Pursuit instead, plus Hot Chocolate l/s, Mountain Air e/l, and one of the balms, which I'll get more of if I like. My order finally shipped, so should have my goodies in a couple of days! Can't wait to see how everything turns up on me after hearing the different stories from everyone, especially with the lippies and the MES.

Oh and I am nc44 with naturally pink lips for a reference.
I think it'll look nice on you, but only if you're comfortable with the light lip look - it's not quite a mid-tone, even if it isn't too white or pale. It doesn't even look totally mid-tone on me. There's that nude coming up in the Mineralize lipstick collection - that one also looks very nice, but it seemed lighter than Cozy Up. There ought to be plenty of nude lipsticks out this year, though, so no reason to force yourself to get something you're not crazy about.

I hope you get Hot Chocolate to look the way you want. Do you have Dervish l/p - that one might brighten it up a little without turning it too pink or brown or mauve. The light pink balm might work too.

great idea Liba. i will try layering hot chocolate. ihave never seen dervish. I will give it a try. I'm going back to try cozy up. My skin is blah right now bcuz of a cold/sinus thingy. It looks dull and drab from working 50 plus hours a week since txgoiving and coming home and crashing with my makeup on. I've been exhausted.

Sorry for the typos. I'm on my phone. I felt like the lippies were a little dull. I can't wait to get my strength items tomorrow. I'm probably the only one but I'm glad the lip balms are not glittery. They felt smooth and somewhat moisturizing. I love that they are glossy but don't give you the greasy lip look. Id return the lipsticks and get backups of these. The pink one looked great on top of haute attitude. I think id even give up my tendertones. Rosy romance was so pretty on. I also got the teal liner. So pretty!
Hmmmm.... *contemplates the balms*

begibg to tell you how horrible that was. But I wanted to see if I could play with it. It is a lot lie the center lip pic on me.
I too am an NC44 and i love cozy up. I looks almost like i'm not wearing anything yet still gives great color payoff...not sure if that makes any sense. It's almost like my nude lips but better and my natural lips are pink as well. I say this is worth giving a try if you're NC44

Makes total sense - that's the mark of a nude that is working for you!!! I can't wait to grab all my stuff tomorrow!

I hauled! I got Alpine Bronze, Porcelain Pink, and Black Ice & Mountain Air liners. Amber Glow blush actually looked a lot like PP on my skin, but more shimmery than glittery. It didn't show up on me at all, so I got Alpine Bronze instead. I skipped Stereo Rose because I have an original SR that I only wear once every few months.

Mountain Air is so pretty! It's a vibrant, deep teal, and I'm such a sucker for that color eyeliner. I read that these are great in the waterline, which is why I got yet another black. They're very creamy and smooth to apply. Plus they're long-wearing and shouldn't smudge once dry. Me likey.

Wasnt there a nude coming that was comparable to tropical mist?
Are you thinking about that reference I made to Tropical Mist when I was talking about how Nice & Simple Mineralize Balm looked on me? I really wanted to like Tropical Mist (lol, I think about Tropic Thunder every darn time I type that), but it was just not the right shade for neutralizing my red lips. Meanwhile, N&S TOTALLY does that perfectly - 'looks just the way I was wishing T.M. would have. You bought all the balms - you're covered!

Thanks Liba! But did you really say beef feet? LOL. I'm going to add my kale smoothies back in this week. We had prime rib for Christmas instead of turkey. Hopefully that will help.
