Today, I snapped. I looked in my eyeshadow drawer and couldn't take it anymore. So I popped my depotting cherry.
For my freelancing kit, I've always used the palettes. I would just get the regular pots of e/s for my personal use. It was always easy to distinguish my personal products from my freelance products that way. But I'm just so sick of digging through that drawer looking for a specific color I want to wear, so it's palette time for my personal shadows too! I still have to get magnets, but at least I know I can depot them successfully now that I've made the attempt. And wow, that glue is a pain to rub off the bottom of the pan sometimes!
Anyway, as much as I love that the new palettes have clear lids so that it looks all pretty, it does make labeling a bigger nuisance. I'm planning on doing what I see has already been suggested: printing a chart of what's in each palette and taping it to the back of the case. I'm one of those people who needs all my colors labeled, so that's gotta happen one way or another! I'll have to be sure to get really good magnets though if I'm going to be flipping the palette over again and again to check on a color's location. I mean, most colors I know by sight, but sometimes I just have to double check with certain shades. I swear, I have to double check everything.
I'm holding off on depotting any more e/s until the palettes are back in stock. And although I don't like that the palette and the insert come separately now, I'll have to get the inserts too. I'm OCD or whatever you want to call it about everything having its place (which is why it's amazing I've kept a drawer full of probably 100 individual e/s for so long!)
