Not to enable anyone on purpose but I highly suggest that you swatch Lavish Living blush before writing it off if you have NARS Sin. I think your skintone will ultimately determine if they are close or not. On my skintone they are not that close so having both is justified. LL muddied out on my the first time due to over application. This would never ever happen with Sin. It's not a muddy color on my skintone Just my two cents. If you are near a store SWATCH! :)

Thank you! This killed my lemm for Lavish Living. I prefer the gold in Sin :)
It killed my Lemming for LL, when I had the MUA at the MAC counter put it on my face. It looked like someone slapped mud on me..LOL! And that was a light application. I think I'm going to check out Sin. It looks right up my alley.

Here are swatches and comparisons from my collection with Lavish Living.I feel like Sin from NARS is close, just a little lighter and the shimmer is more fine and is gold compared to the silver specks in Lavish Living.

Top to bottom: "Lavish Living," NARS "Sin" and Milani "07 - Fantastico Mauve."
Thanks for the comparison swatches Lady! I'm really intrigued by Sin. I'm going to go check that out, the next time I can get out to Sephora.

Yeap I've fallen for that one many times, and I agree with what you're saying; I think we just need to learn to have more realistic expectations when it comes to her swatches. And I think that its important to clarify that not everything looks worst on her reviews necessarily, many of the lipsticks look way better on her reviews than how they actually look in person.
I personally have never had a problem with her swatches. They may not be exact but, at least it gives me a good idea, as to how it will look on my skin. She is a little darker than I am so, I have to take that into account. But, I've never experienced a bad buy, do to her swatches. Better than nothing at all. That's what I say.

The best thing about NARS blushes is that they're totally buildable, too! I considered it might look like my cheeks were bruised with LL anyway lol, but good to know a fellow pacific northwest paley tried it and it didn't work lol :)

Oh I like it! It doesn't look too pale in my opinion, it has a hint of colour which is nice. What I seem incapable of pulling of is the beige kind of lipsticks: I look like a corpse!
I know what you mean! A lot of nudes made me feel like i just slapped concealer on my lips, if thats the case i ll just use my concealer, y buy a lipstick lol

Yeah. I was bummed. But, at least there are other things out there, that I can get my paws on. Have you gotten anything from this collection yet? Just wondering if you got any of the MSF'S. Scene to be seen in particular. I'm wondering how it looks on pale skin cheeks.

I've been eyeing Scene to be Seen but skipped it because I was low on funds when the collection launched. All I purchased from this collection were Private Party and impulse-purchased Exclusive Event from Nordstrom. I kind of worry that the MSF would look too rusty on my skin. I was meaning to go to the store this weekend to look but my car crapped out on me.

I used to be all about the pinks, but got tired of them, breathed deeply and fearlessly jumped onto the reds wagon. And boy, am I glad!

But lately I have been trying nude colours (NICE nude colours) on my nails (love them) and my lips (nice for a change). The problem is that I HAVE to try them and give them a chance, because when I first see them on a display they still look blah to me

I'll never understand why people always say stuff like "her lighting is off" or other things to indicate that there is something wrong or bad. Colors just look different on different people, it's not the person's fault. For example: Aristo-Cat, Courting Lilac, Purple Rite, Radicchio and a couple other lipsticks...all look beautifully purple on everybody else, on me they are straight up brown without a hint of purple. For the life of me, I have no idea why.
I wasn't saying that there was anything wrong, but it just looks different from her other pic wearing the same lipstick so she obviously uses different lighting now. Yes the products look different on different people, that's not what I am talking about.
I always count on her pics, because we have the same coloring. That is why, when I saw her post for the Divine Nights lipstick I immediately wanted Prepare for Pleasure, even though that was the one I crossed off my list. It looked the best on her in my opinion, so that is the one I just picked up at nordies. All thanks to Christine, because I haven't really seen anyone in here raving about PFP, so I would have def skipped it if it wasn't for her pics.

Oh No! I'm sorry your car kicked the bucket! Well. At least you were able to get your hands on a few things at least. I ended up buying STBS last night. I won't get it till the end of the week but, It was the only other color, that looked interesting. I tried it on at the counter and it didn't look rusty on my cheeks. I had to apply it lightly but, It looked like a nice plummy, rose gold on. But. I think getting transportation at this point, is a little more important than a blush! LOL.

StbS is very pretty on my pale skin, but I do have to make sure I don't use a heavy hand with it because it can be too intense.

I second that. LL is unique to anything in my stash. Swatches don't do it justice. And talk of the town is a really pretty slightly mauved cool pink. I have a feeling it will become a highly used highlighter. I am considering back ups. MAC puts out a purple lippy in every other collection but purple blushes are harder to get. This could just be my mineral blush bias talking. If you have a counter near you these must be seen irl to judge them imho.

Totally agree! I was really looking forward to that lavender blush in the Strenght collection, but it never got to my store!
