Agreed! It's def more blackened on me. Color must have changed a bit.
Might be the swatch but this Dark Deed looks a bit lighter and not as black-tinged as the one from VV Collection :dunno:

Thank you ladies :bouquet:  Dark deed didn't remind me at all of rebel. Rebel is much more lighter on me. Here's a creepy screenshot of my lips with rebel lol

Dark deed is a bit darker and more on the brown/plum side compared to rebel. If anything, it reminded me of hang up. I don't have the original dark deed from the vv collection but I think the color changed. I was expecting it to be darker but I'm content with it. I can't wait for you ladies to post more pics, I want to see it on everyone :) P.s I love lavish living! It's so gorgeous IMO.

I don't mind the return policies here. For the most part, I tend to keep what I buy. I do wish that drugstores would offer testers AND more sanitary safety seals on their products/ I think it's more absurd to not have testers for drugstore lines, than it is for MAC to offer products blindly without swatches. Either way, stores get limited supplies of items (both MAC and drugstore), and I think companies would best utilize beauty bloggers if they reverted back to sending the items earlier, pre-launch, so that there's a frame of reference in regards to shade range and product performance.

I've returned items, specifically those foundations that break me out, or oxidize on me throughout the day (but I test the shade beforehand). I returned the Nordstrom NARS face palette because I just couldn't get it to work. The application was patchy, and I wasn't pleased with its performance. Often times, when it has to do with the color not suiting my skin-tone (Save for foundation), I will resell for the price I paid to friends in my social circle, or online.
I expect, on the whole, they sell more by people knowing they can return it if need be than if people knew it was final sale, in which case they would be a lot choosier. Most people probably don't return things that often because it is a hassle unless they really hate the item, so, on balance, they probably get more sales overall as a result of having a return policy. People buying to wear once for a specific event and then return probably does happen, but likely not in enough numbers that it's a problem. I expect it's all factored into their pricing as well, just like advertising, marketing, etc. If there wasn't a business case for it, they wouldn't do it. So it's more of an environmental/waste of LE items issue, really, although at least Mac has a recycling program.

Here are swatches and comparisons from my collection with Lavish Living.I feel like Sin from NARS is close, just a little lighter and the shimmer is more fine and is gold compared to the silver specks in Lavish Living.

Top to bottom: "Lavish Living," NARS "Sin" and Milani "07 - Fantastico Mauve."

I'll never understand why people always say stuff like "her lighting is off" or other things to indicate that there is something wrong or bad. Colors just look different on different people, it's not the person's fault. For example: Aristo-Cat, Courting Lilac, Purple Rite, Radicchio and a couple other lipsticks...all look beautifully purple on everybody else, on me they are straight up brown without a hint of purple. For the life of me, I have no idea why.

Let me start by saying that I do appreciate what she does because it helps to give everyone an idea of how the products look, quality etc. God knows how we all desperately wait for her swatches every time a collection is out. I personally don't think her lighting is off, I think her lighting is what it is for what artificial lighting should look like. I do think a lot of her swatches are off from what the product looks like in person though and that's obviously because artificial and natural lighting are totally different. I'm not just talking about lip or arm swatches but also how the color looks on the tube itself. I wish she would give us different swatch versions like some of the ladies do here (indoor/outddor etc) but I'm not ungrateful about what she does. Her reviews alone just don't make it or break it for me, but that's my personal opinion.

I get a feel for the colors but her items even in the tube look nothing like what the items are usually. It is like when you look at a counter and then get it home or outside. It is always different.

Yeap I've fallen for that one many times, and I agree with what you're saying; I think we just need to learn to have more realistic expectations when it comes to her swatches. And I think that its important to clarify that not everything looks worst on her reviews necessarily, many of the lipsticks look way better on her reviews than how they actually look in person.
