I am going on record now. If I do not manage to snag the requisite 4 GLAMs due to website tomfoolery I am going to be beyond peeved. I totally dread the waiting room. I haven't been to MAC-land since ummm riri the first I think it was and I'm telling you if they haven't managed to improve things I will be freaking out. I have been leading a major campaign at every free standing as well as counter and online shop for this particular shade for a good 8 yrs. There isn't a single MAC counter person in the greater St Louis area that hasn't heard me ask about it.
haha clearly your efforts have paid off! Teach me your ways, I want to lead a campaign to bring Heaux back permanently, lol.

Who are you telling?!? I cannot wait to go to my local freestanding store and shove a tube up in this one girl's face who swore it never existed. When I brought a tube to show her, she told me it was fake (I bought it via mail-order directly from MAC). I can't wait. I have no idea why I can't get over that girl's ignorance/attitiude. I missed my beloved Glam. Would it be wrong for me to take a vacation day to make sure I get it? I know some of y'all have planned around your (OK, our) addiction before. I won't say I haven't done it.

The only green eyeshadow I've had from mac was green smoke. I wore the heck out of it with the gold one. Gold mine? I don't even remember. I know they're not alike. But in terms of brightness I'm guessing fiction is brighter? And greyer?

I hear you. I once asked a gal about it and she insisted it still existed and walked me over to the Viva Glam options. She refused to believe there was a color just called Glam. It does make it hard to find swatches. FYI I don't recall it being part of the Viva Glam release tho I think that is what they {either bloggers or the by request vote page} claiming it was part of that. Umm no? My friend used to wear Russian Red and I wore Glam. I don't recall Viva being released until I had been wearing Glam for a couple of years. I could be misremembering since I am old and it was a long time ago. over 20 yrs now. shhhhhhh

No, you do not misremember. This is true. Glam had been around for quite some time, I remember mail-ordering for several times for AIDS awareness before MAC came to counters near me, and it was after that that Viva Glam came around. I wish I could remember the magazine I cut the order form from. I remember opening that tube of matte fantastic-ness (is that a word) after waiting so long to get it. I remember wearing it with Mahogany lip pencil when I was able to finally buy MAC from stores, and with Vino when I wanted to be dramatic, which was often lol. I went to a school where people were unnerved when folk came to class coiffed and made up, AND wearing shoes no less. Pepole would ask me what my deal was lol.

I was spending time in Montreal ok 24 or so years ago and used to go to the MAC counter at The Bay. I purchased all my brushes and a brush roll and the little cube shaped nail polishes and my lipsticks there. I only had a handful because I was all over Glam once I discovered it. I used to take it over the border for my best friend who lived in NYC at the time. I remember when they opened up the flagship shop there~~ she was so excited! And that is why I thought the Viva Glam campaign started later. I was in San Fran when Viva came out and remember seeing Ru Paul signs and buying my MAC at sigh Henri Bendel I believe. I used to trek down there for the Caron and MAC counters. It was the only shop I ever saw Caron in huge flacons but I had been wearing Bellogia for about 10 yrs and mail ordering it from a wee shop in Harvard's Square until then. I was all agog.

I'm about to BTM my lasr cube shaped NP. It must be near 15 years old and it's still good. The colour is Chili.

I remember buying my first MAC polishes, Black and Blue and Kid Kat, and being shocked at how much I had just paid for nail polish!

Make sure to bring the packing slip with you, otherwise she'll probably still think it was a fake.

I feel like an old coot talking bout back in the day I used to blah blah blah

but honestly I was wearing MAC before it was available state side due to spending so much time in Montreal. I remember being shocked the first time I paid over $10 for a MAC product. It was always the relatively inexpensive pick me up. I told my husband that I needed a new lipstick and that it would be under $10 and nearly went into shock when it was $15. It took me *that long* to get through my stash of Glam. And it was gone! In the meantime I was living in a college town with no counter so I had travelled hours and hours to get to the counter in first place. I was so upset they didn't have my color. I went in the totally opposite direction and purchased Craving. Eh it was my honeymoon. We drove 8 hours to buy me a lipstick in Chicago. You know he wouldn't do that after a couple of years. Which is why he is the EX. I don't think Glam has been gone that long... maybe they were just out of stock at the time. My eldest just turned 18 a couple of weeks ago so it was a while ago.

speaking of which I have several tubes of craving and I think I still have that particular one I bought back then. I tend to go to counter and buy the same color over and over again because it is what I am drawn to. Not the same color in different formulas but different tubes of same color period. I have several tubes of Rebel for example... I get home and go aww shoot and throw the box into a back up box. I am trying to decrease my back ups esp of LE stuff because I know people want them. I don't imagine anybody knocking me over for a tube of Rebel or Craving so I don't bother listing those

lol I feel much the same way.. some things I have are from when MAC was about 3-4 years old. Not an EL company.

and although my colours are more varied, I am kinda stuck in my matte mode since the beginning of MAC's existence. And I still love them

I have and love Craving and Rebel too!

LOL you make a good point. I may bring the whole black box. Because I really need her to know. The SA's in my local MAC store always say they never know about online collections. So I am going to educate her.

actually you can always ask her to look in the substitution book… counters apparently all get a 3 ring binder with what to suggest for discontinued or LE products and the official suggestion for Glam is MAC Red. Which I also love but seriously one is matte and because of that looks a smudge darker and the other is glossy and the reflected lights give it a different tone.

I agree - they look very different to me (MAC Red and Glam) I like them both but Glam is my love. I didn't know about the book. Thanks for that heads up.

I agree 100% erine which is why I said that Mac Red and Glam are not the same color. One gal did suggest Cherry liner followed by Mac Red as a sub but still I don't think so. Of course it has been years since I have worn Glam and my memories may be far off but I am so excited

the eyeshadows do nothing for me... butterscotch? that is yellow based yes?
