Why oh WHY did I HAVE to go into MAC last night and just "Take a look" at the FofF collection??? I was (still am actually) wanting to get some more things from the MN collection and thought that I wouldn't want anything from this collection. I thought that pinks and pastels would never rock right on me. But DAMN IT!!! I tried all the lippies on and I LOVED them all on me. I couldn't pick which one to get. I am now shifting my focus to getting all the items I want from this collection before they sell out and hopefully be still able to snag the last of my MN items before they are completey gone. Snap Dragon and Rose Lily have captured my heart and made me so happy that spring is right around the corner. I have never been able to rock a babydoll pink. They never looked right on me. But that has all changed. I can rock them for my BDay in April!! I had such a hard time picking which ones I wanted. I purchased SD first then left the store but on the drive back, I was going nuts thinking that if I dont at least go back and get HH tonight, then I will never be able to get it because its already sold out on line. So I turned around and got HH. I am now preparing a plan on how to get the other lippies plus SR, PP and the fluid lines before they are completely gone. SMH. I really think I may be addicted.

Wearing Pink Lily today

I think one of the keys to wearing this one is dabbing the lipstick into the lips, not a real heavy application which will make it look weird & like cupcake icing. Almost letting it warm into your own natural lip shade. So darn pretty.

I'll try this as right now after applying Pink Lily I feel like I look like Magda from Theres Something About Mary!

I loved that movie!!!! I need to take pics of my goodies. I haven't even gotten to try them on due to catching a slight cold. My PT looks like a beige PT, barely a hint of lavender in it, but I used it and I like it. My first ever MSF so what do I know. The lippies all look very Springy as does Phlox Garden. I just wish my lips weren't so dry and chapped so I can try on my new lippies.

I just bought Stereo Rose[SUB]Imposter[/SUB] after mailing off Stereo Rose[SUB]Real Thing[/SUB]. ;)

I trotted off to MAC with a bunch of highlighters in tow and this is not like anything else I have. It has a stronger sheen that I'd wear to the office, but I really do like it. I don't agree that it's a light to medium peach; on me (in natural sunlight - car mirror w/ skylight) it's a sheeny light salmon. It's nowhere near as strong a colour as the original, but I don't think that it's a near dupe for Amber Glow. AG is much lighter (and has a much more subtle sheen). I also compared it to Adored, which is both pinker and much less metallic.

I'm not a lover of metallic finishes, but lightly applied this buffs into a light salmon sheen along my cheekbone. No question that it emphasizes pores a lot more than its more subtle cousins, but I'm happy to have a single stronger one when the base colour is this flattering on me.

I specifically went through the ones they had to find one with the least amount of gold veining.

I haven't bought much in a while and I'm proud to say that the addiction has finally worn off. The only things that excited me were Playful Petal and Petal Power. I purchased those 2. The lustre formula is just a waste on my NC45 complexion. I was initially interested in Phlox Garden but I'm trying to stop buying things that I will never/rarely use. I also liked Sassy Moss but I remember that I have a bunch of the older colored fluidlines, Ivy from Bobby Brown and Ivy from MAC that are green and I might wear those once/twice a year if that. I'm just at a saturation point with makeup and I'm only trying to purchase things that take my breath away.

We could use your words of encouragement and any helpful tips on the low-buy thread! Sounds like you made it to the other side unscathed!! There IS hope! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!!

Thanks PixieDancer. I think there just comes a point for each person. I was cleaning up my house when I was home for the "snow storm" a couple of days last week and I was literally disgusted by the amount of makeup I have. I kept finding bags and bags of stuff that I have never opened and use. I have stuff from as far back as the Felines Collection and Surf Baby that are in pristine, untouched condition. I often fall into a rut where I wear the same things over and over. For instance, during the week I only carry my brown neutrals (saddle, cork, brown script, embark, etc.) and my Naked 1 palette and do my work looks. I can play on the lip color but even then I have been sticking to my RiRi Woo/Strawberry Melt combo and Heroine lp/Something New ls/Girl About Town lg combo.

The RiRi collections and the outselling of almost every lipstick just began to drain me. I'm also in my career now. I can't leave a courtroom or my client to say that the new MAC collection just came out and I have to race to Dillard's. I'm just over it. If it's not there when I get off it just wasn't meant to be. Oh, I also make myself actually wait and try things on. I have way too many purchases just sitting around because I liked them online and in swatches on others but then hate it on me.

Well said. I know some of us feel this way too.

I know I do, thus the low buy system is the way to go for me. I waited until yesterday to check everything out in person. Definitely saved me some dough that way.

I just have to have Pixie on my ass to tell me to chill on the HL and lippies every once in a while.
