MAC Sharon and Kelly Osbourne Collection (June 5, 2014)

I got a few tidbits today about this collection  There IS a KELLY YUM YUM. That's the name and everything. It's CYY as an Amplified. Please do not all scream at once! There's also a pale lavender, as well as the peach nude she's wearing in her promo picture and one more that is slipping my mind.  Both Kelly and Sharon have an MSF that are designed as duos with a frosty strip of one color along the bottom. Kelly's is more peachy and Sharon's is more neutral, but neither of them sounded theatrical - they both sound very "use all the time". Each has a blush (standard blush, though, not Mineralize) and an eyeshadow quad. Kelly's quad has soft purples (I bet that's what she's wearing in her promo pic) and we've seen Sharon's.  Sharon has PATENTPOLISHES instead of lipsticks, including 2 new ones that aren't in the current collection, in soft rose and a caramel. It's interesting how MAC went full out with the Patentpolishes. I just got my haul today and I think it's a great product, but it sure seems like the Huggables have grabbed the zeitgeist more than these, even though the PPPs have some advantages over the Huggables. I'll argue that another time in another thread, lol. 

I'm excited for the msfs and blushes! I'm curious what the last lipstick is. Thanks Liba. :bigheart:

We're in a weird place with MAC, because on the really high end runway style makeup, all makeup (not just the cheeks) is very subdued, with maybe just a touch of color on the lips or some dramatic liner on the eyes. As a company that has a full-on runway image, more than just about any other cosmetics line, it puts MAC in a weird position. Even if the public wants strong blush, the trend is saying soft, barely there cheeks and the designers want that on the catwalk too. I still think we will one day get a great purple blush from MAC, but it'll be LE for sheezy.

I would not actually mind some light blushes (like Bareness). I often have barely there cheeks to avoid clown-ness.

Wow thanks for the tidbits Liba!! This sounds really promising! I like the Patentpolish I got and thinking about getting more, so that's cool. Kelly Yum Yum will be mine for sure and maybe the lavender. I love her lavender hair. And Sharon is my style idol for when I am her age. So awesome, love how she manages to be edgy yet classy.

this is going to be trouble. GOtta start saving my pennies for this one especially since it falls on my daughter's birthday. This is the first time that I've started off the year stalking mac collections and i can already tell its going to be an expensive thing to keep up. KYY sounds nice, I'm not sure how the lighter colors will do on me. Sharron's lippies are probably a no go for me. The sounds of Kelly's quad is appealing (I love purples) but i've never purchased a mac quad before. Cant wait to see the MSF and the blushes.

Well, so far I'm only interested in Sharon's blush (I hope it'll be a nice neutral) and Kelly's quad. Maybe the fourth lipstick if it is the same colour as in the picture with Leona Lewis. Otherwise it'll be easy to skip. We'll see.

Thanks for all the compliments! I've thought about blogging here and there, since I enjoy writing about all this stuff for sure! The only thing is, I wouldn't feel right about basing it on info I get in confidence. Hell, usually I get info a lot later and we already have color stories available. It being so early, especially knowing how short the counterfeiters' turnaround time is now, makes me pretty iffy. But enjoy the info, since I already spewed it.

If you already have regular CYY, maybe get Happy Go Lucky and mix the two together if you need to. KYY is in special packaging, which looks cute, but you know that will also cost a little extra. I don't know for sure, but my guess is KYY will be lighter and brighter than HGL.
