It's got to be due in part to the cost of the pigments. Certain red and blue pigments are the most expensive raw materials out there, even in the synthetic, non-natural mineral versions. Colors that use a lot of crimson, scarlet lake, cerulean blue, etc. are going to be more expensive to produce than colors that have a lot of yellow mixed into them. Quick Sizzle, Scarlet Ibis, Prince Noir, etc. all use those sorts of pigments liberally so I'm not surprised they haven't been brought back as perm (yet). When the MAC lipstick prices go up enough across the entire range, it might be more possible to see colors like that come around a little more often, subsidized by popular colors that are also cheaper to produce. If there's one that I think will come back one day, either as a LE repromote or more, it'll be Scarlet Ibis or maybe Party Parrot.

Sushi Kiss, though, is amazing. I love it. Wore it out last night, as a matter of fact. It's one of the best corals to wear in the evening in low light situations…makes your lips look huge and brilliantly glowing. I use my SK all the time and didn't BU it when it first came out, so I am very happy about the perm status.

One other thing - all those peachy coral orange colors are super fashionable right now, very runway forward, so MAC is making a good choice to bring so many of them into the perm line, where most other makeup companies have been a little scared to commit all the way and only offer maybe one or two. Look through current issues of Vanity Fair, for example - all the movie stars are being photographed with pale orange corals and apricots on the lips. It's a basic trend that's going to be around for at least a few years…it's seriously going very mainstream.
I want to know what the non mainstream trend is now, that we'll see people wearing in 2 years. I swear Orange lips were popularized in Summer 2012.

And again in 2013.. lol. I agree though.. things seem to be on a two year cycle. I know there's only so many colors.. but still.. they don't think our memory is that bad do they?

I kind of like that some things stick around for decades. Sweetie, Twig, Plumful. Also, Moxie has had many close ones, Red Baloon, Pleasure Bomb, Love Goddess. They are all so so close IMO. If you want SI try Mangrove. They are only a hair different.
I love some of the perm colours and it is nice they are always around. I have Red B on the way and am looking forward to seeing how it swatches, but I see differences in the others you mentioned, esp Love Goddess which is very red on me (I'm amazed at how pink it leans on others) but thanks for the recommendations! Looking forward to Mangrove, good to know it's not far from SI.

I got into orange lips around 2007, and MAC didn't have any orange back then (I got mine from MUFE). Then in 2012 orange was the THING.

This looks so nice on you and kind of bad on me. It looks like an orange-brown on me. But I notice a lot of people love it.
Isn't that just frustrating when they pull a different color than what you expected/wanted eh? Now if I can just wear Russian Red without it pulling brown on me I would be one happy chick lol

I'd love lippies turn orange on me (don't mind brown either), but it never happens (but pink happens). I don't even see any orange in the tubes (like Toying Around)!

I've just ordered a non-Mac orange-brown lippie. I have high hopes for it! And will put KS on my list, too.

You guys really feel like frosts are making a comeback? Hmmm. Well actually I could get on board with it if we're talking frosts like the Marcel Wanders 2 ones. I looooove Annemiek.

I agree with you. I feel like frosts will be the thing.
I hope they are the coming back because that will allow me to buy other stuff that I can't seem to ever get around to buying thanks to LE collections. I just can't get on with frosts, but they look really nice on a lot of people.

I like some frosts. So it would really help me too lol. So I can buy perm stuff over LE. Because it would limit my buying to one if that.
