MAC Alluring Aquatic Collection (May 22, 2014)

I just had a totally random thought about this collection. I think it's interesting how everything has an ocean themed name except for Delphic and Aphrodite's Shell (I know that one kind of does too but it's different enough), I'm wondering if maybe this collection originally started off as a Greek goddess theme (which I would LOVE) and then they took it in the water direction. I know the shell name probably comes from the Birth of Venus but the oracles of Delphi have nothing to do with water. Just a thought! lol

Yes, I will have to agree. These eyeshadows are super soft and nicely pigmented. I only grabbed Sea worship and Lorelei but I plan to purchase the remaining now.

The shadows do look beautiful but sadly I'm not much of a shadow girl. I've only ever worn eyeliner and mascara on my eyes because I'm such a derp when it comes to e/s. Fathoms Deep and Silver Sun make me wish I wore it though.

I need your help/advice. I ordered on Thursday morning on the Canadian MAC site when the collection launched and got two lippies and a shadow. I wanted to buy two more shadows and a gloss, but I wanted to do that at the store so that I could use my gift cards (HBC/store GCs).

I haven't rec'd my shipping confirmation yet and it's a long weekend here as Monday is a holiday, so it seems I won't get my confirmation until next week now. Yet, MAC confirmed on FB that they are launching the collection on Monday at HBC stores (MAC Counters in dept. stores) on May 19th, Monday.

During Punk Couture I ordered Instigator on Dec 26th and it was shipped on JANUARY 10th!!! YES. I know. Ridiculous. When I rec'd it, it was broken and I had to return it and pay for postage. More ridiculousness. I was not impressed.

I'm nervous about waiting for them to ship it. If I miss the launch in stores next week and my stuff is broken/sold out from my online order, I'll be pissed.

What to do??!???? I don't know if I can cancel my order or not. I don't have a lot of online ordering experience with LE collections.

I've decided not to get any of the blushes since they're a bit shimmery for me anyway, plus I'm getting both blushes from Moody Blooms. So I think my final list shall be:

Now I am kicking myself for not getting any es! But at the same time just can't get myself to spend $60 on three eyeshadows especially after just purchasing my new vanity girl set , I shouldn't be allowed to buy any makeup for a long time! :/ aww but I really want the shadows!! Oh what to do... What to do!!? I'm so torn.

I have light brown eyes that have a hint of gold in them. Which shadow will be best...Legendary Lure or Fathoms Deep? I have Modern Pewter, do I still need Sea Worship?

I'm feeling a little better about Nordies though. From what I have read they seem to be pretty consistent with the time they launch. With the MAC release I was up all night for the most part.

Yes, all of these. Plus Doc martens Nine inch nails Black red lipsticks Raccoon eyes Shirley Manson and garbage Clove cigarettes I just bought tickets to see Veruca Salt on their reunion tour. And I live in Portland where the dream of the 90's is alive. Love it all.

Okay, I'm still catching up, but yes to all of these! I love Garbage. Saw them at the OC fair in Cali in 2006 -it was a fantastic concert. I have 4 pair of Doc Martins now and I doubt I'll ever stop wearing them. I'll be in my 70's with my Docs. Maybe I need to move to Portlandia.

Put 'em on top of the gel!! Regular nail polish comes off easy peasy with remover and the gels stay intact!

Buy it at the counter. At least if anything goes wrong, you'll be safe. If it all goes right--you can return what you don't want or sell in the CB! Either way it's a win-win.

I'm surrounded by babies. I was an 80s girl. I know all about frost lippies, neon, rocking bold eye, cheeks and lips at the same time, spiky hair, final net and those little butane curling irons in my purse and eyeliner that came to a point in the inner part of the eye together with a cat eye. My own personal rule is that if I rocked it the last time the trend came around (skinny jeans, neons, etc.) then I'll leave it for my daughters and not look ridiculous trying to be something I'm not again.  The last time I was in Aeropostale (getting a Bethany Moda tee for my 12 year-old) one of the girls working there tried to sell me an ivory lace miniskirt from the collection. I'm sure I looked stunned for a minute and explained that I wasn't shopping for myself (at Aero, no less). She assured me that they have my size. I had to explain that just because someone can fit into something doesn't mean they should wear it.:haha:

I hate to give my age away, but I was a teen in the 70's. But I went back to college in the 90's so I love all of that, too. Plus I've always been into alternative music, etc. I try not to stay stuck in a specific time, I keep up with new music, even if I don't love much of it. I'm trying to balance that line between looking foolish because I'm trying to look too young, and looking/acting old. A lot of people my own age are getting boring because they're in ruts.
