I got quite a few lipsticks that don't look good on me, but I don't return them. I keep them and still find a way of making them work, I might take me a days or a few months for me to work with them, but I know I will get them to work one day
This is my logic too. I will make it work somehow

I don't like when people have a wasteful mindset! Meaning, regardless of what it is, whether it be food, clothes or any material goods they waste or buy in excess. But in her defense, maybe she isn't as knowledgeable as others about what colors work on her or not. Maybe she is, who knows. Peoples back rounds shape their reality, their thinking. What one might posses in knowledge, the other may not...and those broken lippies seemed like a production issue because I read a blog stating that happened to another individual...When it all boils down to the niddy griddy, to each his/her own. There are things we do personally, that others may frown upon. But judgment is not for us to proclaim. If she happened to be a member on Specktra, and is reading these comments about her, I'm sure it wouldn't make her feel too great...maybe she just needs some guidance from a MUA as to what works for her complexion and lifestyle. My mom always taught me to settle on the best part of people, and seek out the good...

The way I see it, she wasted her money on 10 lipsticks. Complaining that they're not working on her or complimenting her skintone etc. it's pretty upsetting

Since she's returning them, it's MAC's money she's going to be wasting. If lots of people do this, the prices will go up for everyone.

I really think that she may have just been getting into MAC makeup and got a little too carried away. I'm not mad about it. Maybe we should just leave a link to specktra for her :)

Sometimes, I really do not understand other people's logic. Where was the logic in buying so many things, hating on the things and then returning it. What happened to calling a friend? At least the lipsticks wouldn't have went to waste, if she got in touch with her friends or relatives that would purchase them off her etc.

You sound genuinely angry :( Just chalk it up to her not being knowledgeable. I think she said in her video that she had never gotten lustres before. I agree with YarahFlower that she may not have known what she was doing. Yes ten lipsticks were wasted but maybe she did give them away. And she liked at least two or three. I really think it isn't something for us to judge. She posted the video to help other girls her complexion so I think she had good intentions.

Some swatches

Bouffant over Nubile, Wow Factor over Stormy Pink, WF over Half Wild and Preening over Clearwater.

Preening over a very light application of Clearwater, Wow Factor over Half Wild, WF over Stormy Pink, Bouffant over Nubile.

I never wear shadows without a paint pot which seems to intensify the colour. Bouffant isn't showing too well in the photos but it is really lovely over Nubile.

She clearly doesn't know what works for her, unfortunately. But hopefully she can get the help she needs so she won't make purchase after purchase only to return. A link would help :)

To be honest, I am quite peed off about it. I don't think her intentions were misplaced, but she should've went in store and have a play about before committing to so many lipsticks. That's my only gripe about it

Did you try it over Clearwater? I'm thinking of doing that.

Wow Factor looks great over Half Wild paint pot and Stormy Pink paint pot too.
I don't have clearwater. I never bought any of the newest paint pots. I think I have a blue one I've never used. I do have the Half Wild one. Thanks for the suggestions.

If you are interested, I've seen clearwater and stormy pink at the CCO for $14.25. Maybe yours has some.

Those look amazing over the paint pot bases. I never bought Clearwater but if it makes Preening pop like that, I'll consider it!
