Ugh. I still want Eugenie.. I already have Rocker, Studded Kiss, Hearts Aflame and Runner... I could do without Eugenie, right?!
Common sense would dictate that, yes, you could happily do without Eugenie. That said, common sense is a scarce commodity when it comes to MAC LE collections so don't be surprised if your Rocker, Studded Kiss, Hearts Aflame and Runner have new friend come September :pp:
So true lol. I'm trying to restrain myself but the pretty bullet isn't helping! BUT I haven't bought any MAC for over 3 months so I might have a chance lol. :haha:

I would say YES!!!!! especially if you have BUs of the other colors.
Don't have BUs but good to know! Thanks! I really want to skip but I'm having a hard time lol.

Looks like we stalked for nothing...
Yeah I just saw an hour ago that it's the 9th.. I vaguely recall BBW was supposed to launch the same day on both MAC and Nordstrom online. Isn't that when Nordstrom went and launched 24 hours early via their App and Live Chat? Somebody must remember lol

I don't remember, but I'll stalk the app and see if this follows suit. I get frustrated with Nordies because sometimes I think they let little old MAC push them around on these dates. I would like to think that with the general reputation of Nordstrom, that they wouldn't typically be posting launch dates then changing them. I like to think that is only reserved for when dealing with MAC lol

So Nordstrom is launching on July 9th. That's going to be the first day that cardholders can access the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. The site will be busy! (keep in mind, Nordstrom usually shuts down the site during the middle of the night for a few hours to update it for the Anniversary Sale, usually there is a countdown clock till it re-opens).

was mac always this bad about releasing their collections online? or has this been something within the last few years/collections?
I remember a few years ago things use to release to Pro first online, then to everyone else. We even got an early email. Now we can't get a discount until two weeks after a collection comes out which is understandable, since the point of the discount is for professional use.

Honestly I think a lot of the site updates have to do with volume control. As much as we gripe about fluctuating release dates, there's a greater amount of customers that complain that they didn't even have a chance to buy anything a collection because it sells out so fast. As we all know, emails and texts alerting us that a collection has launched come too late to be useful. Reselling for three or four times the retail price on eBay has been a problem for years, but now there are even more platforms on which people sell their hoarded LE things. (And by hoarded, I mean they intentionally bought as many as possible of something specifically with the intention to resell.)

I think the biggest issue with MAC and their LE amounts is that they're not amazing at predicting the "It" product from a collection. For instance, say Tabs becomes the most wanted GV lipstick out of the blue, but they were expecting it to be Eugenie so Tabs sells out. That almost intensifies the need to have Tabs since it's a limited color.

Most people don't have a team of the hardest core makeup addicts in the world counting down to the minute a collection launches. We're lucky in that sense, even if it drives us crazy. :p Idk if this makes any sense. I see if both ways. Don't jerk us around with launch dates, but don't make it easy for resellers to buy out a collection.

Maybe you're right, but I don't see any of that type of gate-keeping functionality in place--do you?

Imo, we're just getting bugs and less functionality--it seems like a nice beta but not ready for prime time. They've modernized the look, but for me it's a design shift.

www.maccosmetics.com doesn't have a login option. You have to specifically go to a different screen to login. What would be the login option is to sign up for an account. And it could be that part of the point is that it's hard to navigate. It's harder to race in, order 3 of everything and checkout. But who knows :)

My dislike of the new site is mostly coming from me not knowing what to expect when this goes live because it's the first collection I'm shopping since the redesign. If it goes smoothly I probably won't mind it as much although I still prefer the old one and would feel 1000x better with site map

Good point. And I think no Site Map will slow down the eBay resellers so YAY for that! The real test will be GV. Hopefully the new slow-as-molasses navigating site keeps those lipsticks in stock so non-resellers have a fair chance to purchase.

I hate the new site because I can't seem to log in from my iPhone, which is 99% from where I stalk the site :/ I don't know why???? But it's very confusing over all and I wish they would go back to the old layout :/

See the "sign in" ---there's a login option on the desktop at the top left... maybe I'm misunderstanding. If so, I truly apologize. Really, I have no real issue with what you are saying---I love this community and don't want to create any conflict. I do appreciate that you are seeing both sides of things. And in the end, its makeup, which should be fun! :)
