I stopped by my Macy's counter during lunch and my fave sa let me swatch all the lippies yayy NC42 for reference

I already ordered Eugenie off bloomies and I wanted to skip everything else except Tats is calling my name lol . I have Embrace Me already tho so I think it would be too similar . Also the SA showed me their entire stock and they only had about 10 or so in each color which is totally redic. So I wil be there as soon as they open

I asked the SA the same question and she said that VV is pinker. I own VV and Sushi Kiss (which looks atrocious on me tbh) so I'm skipping .

Tell me about it! Basically, you have to take a whole day off from work, drag both your laptop and your smartphone/tablet to the store, fight the crowds/lines/resellers and try to snag a lipstick with your hard-earned money. They may think creating these frenzies is marketing genius, but they are failing to look at the bigger picture of pissed off customers who are buying fewer items from the permanent collections.

My father never lines up to spend his money, he just doesn't. He simply turns around and puts whatever back or doesn't even bother when he sees a line. I admire him for that. It comes with age I think, hahahaaa! It doesn't make sense though, the whole chasing this stuff down. Then I have so many that I don't know what to use in the morning. All flustered. Yet here I am again. It's seriously an addiction. But I was waiting for this collection forever it seems! The last MAC stuff I bought were the two lippies from the Matte Lip. Oh wait, I picked up a Fix+ Extension today because I'm running low on the original. All I want is Bianca B and was even more happy when I thought no one else wanted it but then to see people getting 20 or it being the first to sell out in presales. WTF!?

I don't have VV, but it is more pink than coral/peach I find. SK is Sushi-caca on me. Uggh. I have to use another base I think. That looks more pale than Margherita though, probably what Bianca B would look like on me but I still want it

I asked my sis which one she would want since I usually try to get something for her and she said Tats off the bat. Then she saw a swatch of Margherita and likes that one too.

Margherita looks so pretty, Im intimidated by it though. my SA said its close to Sushi Kiss but matte...I tried SK once and thought it was bloody awful even though i wanted it. That being said i used to dislike oranges on myself and Im warming up to them. the first time i tried Lady Danger I thought it was bad but I still really wanted it...I tried it again recently and actually really liked it so I bought it. I also tend to not like certain lipsticks and then others like it on me like Snob or Pink Fringe from Proenza.
Im so torn on this shade

Tonight/ tomorrow morning at some point-MAC, Nordstroms and Macy's will launch this collection online.

Bloomingdales, Belk and Dillards might launch again online but with reduced stock (or they may really be sold out of everything?)

On Thursday it will launch everywhere (MAC stores and counters, department stores, etc...) with limited or great numbers of stock (depending on where you are).

Is that the final plan for this collection- subject to the whims of MAC?

Even though it's bright, you have to keep in mind how light Margherita is. It needs a liner! If you're more comfortable with neutrals, you could even do Boldly Bare with it. If you wanted more definition, Burgundy or Chicory would look great too!

So I called Bloomingdales since I was worried about my lipsticks melting ( has anyone had this issue?) she said it would be resolved if this did indeed happen BUT she said those who ordered yesterday were the lucky ones…and said they are launching again tomorrow. She didn't give me a time.
I am anxious to just go to the store tomorrow and try to pick the ones I want since its so hot here…..ugh the stress of makeup!!!!

Y'all. I called my Nordstrom and the SA told me that they only have three of the five shades because apparently they "lost" the other two. I asked her if she meant they did pre-sales and sold out of them, and she said "No, they're actually lost. We've been looking for the box everywhere and have no idea where they went!"

Even though it's bright, you have to keep in mind how light Margherita is. It needs a liner! If you're more comfortable with neutrals, you could even do Boldly Bare with it. If you wanted more definition, Burgundy or Chicory would look great too!

I'm new to liners and not quite sure what to do with them, tbh. When you say it needs a liner, do you use it just to line the outside or do you usually fill in the whole lip? I'm probably not doing it right, but lining just the outside always looks stark on me.

If it looks stark, maybe try putting the lipstick on first then feathering the liner around the edges for a softer effect. The purpose of liner is to make the lips look more defined (add definition), to make a bolder color look crisp around the edges, and to keep the lipstick under control (liner usually helps keep things from bleeding).

Liners aren't easy! They were one of the last things I learned. They're hard because no one's lips are even so you have to over or underdraw a little. Start in the middle on both the top and the bottom, press lightly, and go slow. Stepping back from the mirror to see it also helps to see if it's even or not.

Is that kind of helpful? Sometimes I get excited and vomit words.

It looks gorgeous! It really comes down to the application I think. I can easily wear Reel Sexy or Sushi Kiss by just blotting them down. The stain is super beautiful and a great alternative to wearing it full force (which can be a bit much for some people and also what some of the swatches of Margherita look like). I never use liner. If you exfoliate your lips, a toned down application will likely be gorgeous. I do the same for Tropic Tonic.
