Thank you Allie! Coming through again for me :tee: pulling me back from the ledge...lol!

I do have The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% ($6.79 for a 1 oz bottle !!!) I believe it be stronger than the GG but it contains none of the supposed "soothing" ingredients.

I am thinking what I need to do is: Use the Ordinary LA 10% straight through for a couple weeks and perhaps find a "soothing" beneficial serum that can be layered over it. It would certainly be a fraction of the cost. Time for a little experimentation.

The other thing I am considering is the use of face oils in my night time regimen Because of course they gave me samples of the SR Luna Oil...sigh...The Ordinary has Squalane Oil and Marula Oil both of which I think would be lightweight enough. I am still on the fence because I do have combo/oily...however my skin is aging and I do have dryer spots around my eyes/top of cheeks.

p.s. For that $105 - $158.00 I could stock up on more than a year's worth of numerous Ordinary products...insane!
One of my friends finds the Good Genes comparable to Drunk Elephant's Glycolic Night Serum but it's only slightly cheaper than the Good Genes. She likes the Drunk Elephant slightly more though. I ordered the DE mini duo kit with the Serum and their Marula oil to try after I try the Sunday Riley set I bought during the fall VIB sale. A youtuber (StefNicole) I was watching the other day did a review on the Ordinary vs their higher priced line NIOD and she said she actually preferred DE's Marula oil to the Ordinary's version. When talking about their acid serum she didn't seem keen either, but she did preface her review on the fact that she's used to strong chemicals and that if you generally didn't use an acid serum you might enjoy the Ordinary's version. Can't beat trying it for $10 though lol.

I got the Tatcha The Essence Plumping Skin Softener & so far I really, really love it. It makes the skin so soft & smooth & pore-less looking. I also ordered the Tatch Water Cream late last night because it was sold out but came back into stock very late. It gets really great reviews like The Essence Softener. Early in the sale I ordered a bunch of the Nars Charlotte collection before they pulled it - LOVE everything. I bought some Dior mascara & YSL double ended eye shadow/highlight pencil in dark brown. It got really good reviews as well. I wish I would have bought the black shade too. Also bought some Bumble & Bumble hair products & that new Smashbox gel liner in black because I love the brown shade. It was sold out too at the beginning of the sale but came back into stock late too. So many other things that I wanted were OOS :(

So we're not allowed to continue to shop during the VIB sale LOLOLOL???

Yaaas! I am subbed to Steph Nicoles channel :tee: I have watched several of her videos on skin care. She is definitely advanced and experienced...having used pharmaceutical/prescription grade acids/skin care. So I could see how entry level products from Deciem/Ordinary would not do anything for her skin.

My personal experience with Deciem/Ordinary has been great so far. No adverse reactions to any of the products I have used. And I am seeing some definite changes for the good...they have not happened overnight, but over the past year+ of consistent use. Still, there are things I would like to see improved. You and I have chatted before about this...where someday I would love to have that skin confidence to go with the bare minimum. Working on it, working on it...

You might want to try mixing the drops with a gel highlighter. I mix mine with
Bourjois Sculpt Light Highlighter. The highlighter alone is just okay. But, together they blend beautifully.
I might try that! Thanks for the tip!

So my intention for the sale was to buy things to consolidate my collection. Mainly more MUFE tins and some brushes. They were already sold out of most of the sizes and on the morning on the sale EVERY SINGLE ONE was OOS. *sighs* My haul as a result was much smaller than planned. I got 2 new Amuse Bouche lipsticks from Bite. The colors Porcini and Portabello. Porcini is described as a rich caramel. To me it's a caramel with a rich yellow base. It can read as concealer on some but on me it becomes a strange nude with a little extra. Portabello is described as a deep golden brown. As far as nudes go these are very unique to my collection. I also picked up the Sephora Pro brush in #79 . Online I grabbed the new NARS concealer, the Viseart Petite Pro and a Caudalie serum.

Have you heard that Zoeva is coming to Sephora? What do you think?
This is exciting!!!

Is Deciem the same as Ordinary?

I hear great things about DE, but I want samples before taking the plunge. I only have SiJCP and no DE skincare at this one unfortunately. I can't wait to hear what you think about your kit compared to SR.

She's really thorough isn't she? I'm trying to take better care of my skin too so I'm paying more interest in ingredients and that stuff now as well as my diet and water intake. It's a bit overwhelming but we'll get there. And we'll wake up one day and be like "I woke up like this!" and drop the mic lol!
You were the first person I heard raving about the Ordinary when you mentioned the one that helped keep the oilies at bay! I'll go back and look when I've waded through some of the loads of deluxe-sized skincare samples I have laying around. *shame*

I haven't started the Sunday Riley as yet. I've been trying some Korres Wild Rose stuff that I really liked and some Dr. Brandt. Once those are used up I'll start Sunday Riley take a break and then use the Drunk Elephant. Don't want to be giving DE props for the SR's work lol. But I'll definitely let you know how they compare for me! DE's little duo travel sized sets are pretty reasonably priced for use as trials so I picked up the day set and night set during the sale last week.

Oh yeah, I tried the new coverfx drops. I need to leave those alone. They are a greasy mess on me.

Are they really? Oh my gosh, I foolishly tried them with my daughter and we ended up buying three; Celestial for her and Moonlight & Blossom for me. I've only had them for a couple of days, but I adore them. The skin on my cheeks is dry now though (as is hers); maybe that makes a difference. I wouldn't have liked these when I was younger and oilier, but they give a great glow without glitter and last all day. :cloud9::cloud9:

I returned Kevin Aucoin Starlight; it was just too small for the cost. It's no bigger than a Nars single pan eyeshadow.

Now I really am done until the fall! :)

I've used most of DE's stuff for the past few months and just recently started with The Ordinary. I like TO's AHA/BHA peeling solution over DE's Baby Facial and I think TO's marula oil is just as good as DE for much less money. I still use DE's TLC Framboos as I didn't like TO's 7% AHA. I've also replaced DE's B Hydra with TO's Buffet.

I'm a big fan of green tea so may try those Tatcha products too. I'm so bummed I missed their Cherry Blossom nude lipstick that was exclusive to their site. I guess it sold out at lightning speed and many people were disappointed. I didn't even hear of it until after the fact.

When was the lipstick on their site? I can't remember if they bring the lipsticks back. I can't wait to try the water cream. I'm really loving The Essence Softener. It instantly makes the skin feel so soft & good. I am so happy to read that you like the ingredients.

^^^^^THIS! I missed out on A Plum Blossom last year...still hurting over that one :(

The website has been down for the past week too!

I actually received an email last week (a couple days before the site went down for maintenance) when it was supposedly in stock. I clicked through and it was already sold out?!? I honestly do not think it was ever in stock and if it was, the number available was like luxury exclusive?! I am holding out that it was a glitch on Tatcha's end and that it will actually come into stock once their website is back up and running.

p.s. I will be sure to post as soon as I hear/see anything. :tee:

Hi Molly! I am pretty sure you and I both posted on Sephora about Deciem/Ordinary :tee: ~ I also have the AHA/Peeling Solution...I have only used it once so far as it is a "once a week" product. I have hope for it. I just placed an order for Buffet and the Squalane Oil (Marula is still out of stock). I also ordered the High-Spreadability Fluid Primer. I have read reviews that it is like the Hourglass Mineral Veil, which I am just about out of...so what the hey...lets give something a fraction of the cost a try.

I have squalene, too, and I think you'll like it. Marula is hard to keep in stock, probably because it's having a moment and is much less expensive than any other brand.

Some people on their FB page actually did get it. They say on there that they were shocked at how fast it sold out and they will try to bring it back but as they are hand made in Japan it will take some time. I notice the red one is sticking around for a long time so it may be hard for them to figure how many to order.

Thanks! Well let me know if it comes back ;) Yes, I did notice that the red has been there for awhile.

No glitch. It was in TM's sites. I don't think Tatcha was prepared for the onslaught from her followers. I mean, Chanel wasn't even prepared, and they have 'it' items frequently enough.

I sincerely hope so because it looks just lovely, and I'm so bummed to miss it. I also really hope they will and in time for summer because it looks great for the warmer months. I think their main/traditional/returning customers that will buy more than a one-of will get turned off by this if they don't do something.
