All Things Sephora

So my intention for the sale was to buy things to consolidate my collection. Mainly more MUFE tins and some brushes. They were already sold out of most of the sizes and on the morning on the sale EVERY SINGLE ONE was OOS. *sighs* My haul as a result was much smaller than planned. I got 2 new Amuse Bouche lipsticks from Bite. The colors Porcini and Portabello. Porcini is described as a rich caramel. To me it's a caramel with a rich yellow base. It can read as concealer on some but on me it becomes a strange nude with a little extra. Portabello is described as a deep golden brown. As far as nudes go these are very unique to my collection. I also picked up the Sephora Pro brush in #79 . Online I grabbed the new NARS concealer, the Viseart Petite Pro and a Caudalie serum.

Have you heard that Zoeva is coming to Sephora? What do you think?

I had the Bite lipsticks on my list but had to skip them this time around. Still on my wishlist though. I'm glad that Zoeva is coming. I keep putting off my order. I don't know if I can wait until fall though.
I'm a big fan of green tea so may try those Tatcha products too. I'm so bummed I missed their Cherry Blossom nude lipstick that was exclusive to their site. I guess it sold out at lightning speed and many people were disappointed. I didn't even hear of it until after the fact.

When was the lipstick on their site? I can't remember is they bring the lipsticks back. I can't wait to try the water cream. I'm really loving The Essence Softener. It instantly makes the skin feel so soft & good. I am so happy to read that you like the ingredients.
I just used a code for Sephora. Water gets you the new Tatcha moisturizer in a trial size. I want to try the Essence too.

I just ordered the new Milk highlighter. I'm a sucker for anything duochrome. I was eyeing the old purplish one but I just couldn't pass up a peach one.

Oh my my my...Tatcha water cream is A MAZING!!! I used it after The Essence & my skin is glowy & incredibly silky smooth. I love that it absorbs so quickly without any residue or greasy feeling. I hope my skin loves it for the long haul.

I also got the duo ended YSL eyeshadow stick in the dark brown today & it is so creamy easy to blend & smooth. So, I ordered the smoky grey duo last night to get the Tatcha water cream sample - thank you icecaramellatte!!!

fur4elise I think you mentioned 15% off first order at MarcJacobsbeauty.com. After hemming and hawing I put the summer bronzer and summer bronzer brush in my cart. After entering my info, it said the bronzer was soldout. I went ahead and purchased the brush only for the bronzer to restock Sephora and Marc Jacobs the next day. Well the brush arrived today. It is nice but the brush head does not look as large as the regular one. I still don't know if the bronzer would work for me. I might see if I can find it in store this weekend.

That new Dennis Gross eye cream I bought is going back with the quickness. My eye area felt dry after applying it and it seemed to emphasis the lines under my eyes and made my eye makeup look worse. I used it twice a day for a few days and nah.

Ugh!!!!!!! :action1: I am so not liking Sephora. I tried to order an item tonight & it charged me & then said inventory failure. It happens when it says there are only a few left & has happened since they changed the website. It's happened to me 4 times now.

Btw. There is a new Sephora favorites kit with a mini Nars Bound!

Just catching up on the forum tonight. My fiancé and I have been preoccupied with scoping out wedding venues :twirl: :dogdance:

I wanted to share what I ended up getting during the sale though (it's mostly restocking/repurchasing): a couple Sephora sheet masks, RMS un cover foundation/concealer, RMS magic luminizer, Shisedo facial cotton, Milk eye pigment in After Party, Clinique bottom lash mascara, Living Proof Dry Shampoo, MJ highliner gel crayon in Earthquake, and two Surratt blushes (Barbe a Papa and Chaleur), and the new Dior pump and volume mascara.

Not Sephora related, but I also repurchased Chantecaille Future Skin. I really missed this so decided to go ahead and buy it again.

Thank you!! Every venue we toured was a winery/vineyard. It was a great idea - tastings and glasses all day! :gulp: The longer the day goes the better those venues start to look :rotfl:

I am loving RMS too! I used to be all about their bronzer and original luminizer.

Congratulations!!! I'm jealous of the vineyard tours. Sounds like a lot of fun! Seriously, though, one of my best friends did that for her wedding, and it was sooo fun and beautiful. Good luck!

GreenEyedAllie thank you! I'm so glad to hear it was beautiful for your friend's wedding! My dental hygienist did this as well and that is how we got the idea lol!

Alysse011 Congratulations! A winery wedding sounds wonderful!!!

Will this be the first time you're trying the Future Skin reformulation? I have sensitivity issues with the new formula but since I haven't found anything else I love I'm thinking of seeing if I might be able to get away with it over a primer. When I first tried the reformulation I also found it less pigmented and less glowy, and I liked the look of it less overall, but I'm wondering if that might have been at least in part sour grapes on my part. I hope you still like it as much. Please let me know!

I've tried the Tatcha Water Cream and I agree, it is nice and absorbs very quickly. However, that Peter Thomas Roth one, Water Drench? I felt like my skin sucked in the moisture, and I still feel hydrated. It is slightly cheaper too. I think I want to try the Dr. Jart one next.

YEARS ago, I used a gel moisturizer and I love it, not sure why I didn't stick with it. I had to try these though b/c I fell into Sonia Roselli's Glossible group on Facebook and they always rave about her Water Balm. I had to find something similar to try before making the commitment with hers. I'm impressed with the concept and will try it soon.

I got youth to the people's eye cream. I think I like it.

But what I LOVE right now is FAB's Access Denied
It doesn't matter what concealer I use they fall into my lines and I've been getting crepey. I think the lines are just how my eye is made/shaped and the crepiness is from dryness. This completely stopped it. Ok maybe one got through. But after one use, I'm ready to buy it all up. It's obvious a silicone barrier and didn't make my lines disappear, so I'll use this on top of my normal eye cream. For that, I think it is worth it. Not sure it is something that will make lines disappear forever. I think MAC fast response cream has a similar concept, but that didn't do anything for me. The other trick I learned was putting a small drop of oil on top of the concealer. I loved that too.

*sorry for typos.

Thank you!!

This is my first tub since the reformulation, and you're right...it's not as good. I wore it last night and felt that the finish was off compared to what it used to look like. I went online and read some reviews too about people breaking out from the new formula. I'm going to return it. My skin is just beginning to recover from a bad breakout (from a different product), and this new reformulation isn't worth me finding out if it's going to irritate my skin now too. I'll probably browse around Nordies for something else when I make the return.

All of these brands are reformulating great products - Chantecaille, YSL's new version of the Touche Eclat foundation (made me look so dry and matte), and also Lancome. I was excited to try their Teint Miracle but apparently it has also been reformulated and the reviews are pretty negative, so I passed. I understand technologies change and brands reformulate but ugh.

Hmmm...I'm not sure if that makes me feel better or worse. The original had such a skin perfecting look while still looking like you weren't wearing foundation. Oh well. Thanks for confirming. I actually prefer the look of Just Skin to FS now, although some of the ingredients are still problematic for me.

:drinking:Hahaha Yes indeed! We go to this amazing Vineyard for dinner & wine all the time. It's so beautiful that I want to live there...& have my wine lol

I have the luminizer but not the bronzer. Is it a nice shade? I kept debating about it & then just forgot about it.

I have a deluxe sample of the Tatcha water cream on the way, and I am excited to try it! Funny you mention the Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench- my husband has been using it for the past week and he is just loving it! He raves about the formula lol. He even came into the bedroom the other night and rubbed some on my hand - apparently I need to be trying this!

We are also loving Youth to the People cleanser and superfood mask. I really want to try the eye cream, but it's been OOS in Canada for awhile now. I was really happy to discover this brand!
