Cyndi Lauper & Lady GaGa Campaign

After reading comments, I feel so left out for not getting Gaga.
I got Cyndi through mac online, but due to weather there, they haven't shipped it yet.

I am sure Gaga is gorgeous, but I tend not to like baby pinks or nudes or any light realistic non offensive everyday color on my lips. I do wear those colors when I have dark shadow on...Other than that I feel like it washes my NC20 skin out ...I also have strong dark brown brows, dark brown hair, and green eyes, and I just think light pinks and nudes look weird on me...It's like I need a pop of color on my lips no matter the lack or load of e/s going on.

Maybe I'm weird? lol And by pop of color I don't mean dark or bright, but just something that is deeper than my skin tone.

I love Angel, but it looks a bit milky on me...Maybe also part of the problem is the pigmentation in my lips? I would say they are light/medium...

I dunno, but now I want gaga....

I think Gaga Lipstick is popular, because Lady Gaga, reaches to the mac audience better.
Her color is an everyday color, and loads of people in general are afraid of red lipsticks. Also it is for a good cause, and I'm not saying it isn't a gorgeous color, because I have seen it...It just isn't my thing really (but slowly becoming my thing). I know I wished the colors were reversed, just because my mind thinks it would be cooler to say I'm wearing "Lady gaga's viva glam" over Cyndi's.

Just my marketing mind working overtime.

I saw both of these today and Cyndi doesn't do it for me at all. I liked Gaga l/s on me ( my MA loved it on me). But I still prefer Snob, Pink Nouveau and St Germain. I just like my lipsticks to be opaque and lustre formula doesn't do it for me.

I'll prob still buy it in a week or so just coz the money goes to a good cause. I can prob use it in the summer when I give my more opaque lipsticks a rest

I've been playing around with Gaga a bit and almost any liner with some warmth in it (I tried LM Natural Lips) or a gloss (I tried VGVISE and Almondine) make it really wearable.

I am definitely in the minority here when it comes to liking these lipsticks. I bought both, because it is for charity not b/c I am in love with the colors. I think that Cyndi is the more wearable of the two.

Lady Gaga.....I don't understand all the raves for this lipstick. It is a light pink and I think it's a hard color for many to pull off. I was at 2 Mac counters yesterday where several of the MA's we wearing it and I've seen tons of pics on line - just my opinion, but it really wasn't flattering on most of the people I saw wearing it. In several cases it looked like pink lipstick mixed w/whiteout (when applied heavily). Not a good look. I wore mine today (sheered out) w/the VGVI LE Lipgloss and it looked ok.

I think alot of people are buying it b/c Lady Gaga is hot right now not so much b/c this is a great color (again, just my opinion). Since it's for charity I'm all for it.

Have to agree with you that I haven't seen alot of pics where I thought Gaga looked great, but I do like it applied lightly and topped with VGVI SE. Try Cyndi with Cha Cha - that is *really* pretty, I think.

I agree! Lady Gaga could have launched any color, even black. Her fans would have bought it. It took me a while to figure out how to wear the Gaga lipstick but now like it.

So true! The lipstick could have been blue green and would have still sold like hotcakes.

I was wearing a dark, smokey eye today (being anti-Vday) and tried it on and it worked that way. An MA agreed that a dark eye and lady gaga worked supremely together. And it clicked later for me cuz (even though Gaga could wear her own lippie everyday of her life with her color) she is making it work in the promo with a big dark smokey eye, so there in lay the key maybe.

Yesterday I bought the Lady Gaga and Cindy Lauper l/s and the Lady Gaga doesn't look very pigmented on my lips but i like it a lot beacuse i can use it more in a daily basis and the MA recommend a l/g from the Spring collection called Culture clash and it looks very nice together.

WORD.
Hopefully that's someone trying to make fun of her by photoshopping her teeth yellow.

That's exactly what I thought when I looked at that photo.

^^ Yikes!. That definitely has to be photoshopped.. I saw her in concert and no amount of smoke and mirrors would've hid that for the 2 hour duration. She sported all kinds of funky m/u.

I agree that Gaga's lipstick isn't too original -- originally, I was hoping she'd release something along the line of Lavender Whip. Considering she was sporting something that looked really similar in Love Game's music video, I was surprised when she came out with a pink lustre.

At the same time, I'm thankful it's calmed down from being Saint Germain-esque. The only reason I bought it was because it seemed like the perfect excuse for a shade I've never tried -- not so much for the originality compared to other lippies. I wanted a milky pink that wasn't TOO bold and since I saw her in concert, perfect.

On a side note.. Does anyone feel they'll be looking back at 'Lady Gaga' years from now, or do you think she'll still be around?.

Just curious since she's made it to MAC collections. (I imagine Alexander McQueen/MAC's collab are interesting/something to have now.)

Cheers and Happy V-day to all.
