i would buy everything in a Gem collection if they do make one!!!!! LOVED Gem and the rockers growing up. i loved Gem and the purple one. the dolls were metallic bodies and huge earrings, spandex and shirts tied on the side. ahhhh amazing. i loved the 80s so much.
SERIOUSLY. They still need people for different things. I'm following their tumblr and definitely interested in doing something for the movie. I used to love Jem when I was little.

An old witch
Whenever the criticism(tired and oft repeated) is made that someone looks like a witch or looks dead, I think to myself : they are most likely describing a look I would find attractive. I guess I like some drama and mystery in my appearance. I vote for Theda, when it feels like we're in a Tracy Anderson/ Beyoncé holding pattern. We don't have to all look like spritely neophytes or slaves to Haute Couture.

While semi on the subject of Jem, I found an old cassette tape of the Jem song "Glitter & Gold" the other day. I totally put it on and rocked out to it. lol

She just looks like an old witch to me where you'll see in a movie. I don't think she's ugly or unattractive, I actually like her but her makeup choices are really what washes her out and ages her by 40yrs.

You know the funny thing? I either wasn't around for Jem, or too young, but the cartoon was on reruns for the Hub Network and I had to admit I was jamming out to certain songs, lol. One thing I'll say for a show about a young all-girl band...lot more explosions than I expected, lol.

Turns out Lime Crime will be making a Jem collection, not MAC. At least it appears that way.

Well, maybe MAC will do one also. Maybe? I like Lime Crime's lipsticks. I only have two, but their prices have gone up and I don't know if I am willing to pay the price...unless it's something unqiue and a must have. Guess I will have to keep an eye out for the collection and items.

In that case, it's a definite skip.  Wish it would have been MAC or another nice brand.
I think Lime Crime is a nice brand. I know that they have had controversy in the past, but for me, the dust has settled. Plenty of makeup companies have had controversy, but we usually always come back for more. I love their lipsticks and velvetines!

Pass. Their previous history/controversy put me off ever buying from them. Not only that, but I hate their packaging. Purple unicorns.. the prices they charge, I'd expect the item to not look like it came in a child's make-up thing.

I think @mosha010 is right, and it's not a make up collection but a collaboration for their new Hair dyes. I'm still hoping someone will have a make up collection though! I think UD would be a good brand to do it, if MAC doesn't do it.

I recently got this lipstick from a small company on etsy called ImpulseCo.

Psychedelic Opaque Matte Lipstick

I am very happy with the color, it's really close to that photo.

It has some issues, tho. It comes in a "chapstick" type tube - which means it's not as easy to control as a regular lipstick, but it does say so on the site, so no surprise. It says it's moisturizing, but it's drier than MAC mattes. So I put MAC Mineralize Tinted Lip Balm on first and then it's OK.

On the other hand, it only cost $6.99, so it's cheaper than some of those other non-MAC odd colored lipsticks.

I am ecstatic that i now have a true blue-violet lipstick.

I looked at the site and impulse has some really interesting colors. I've never bought lipsticks from an indie company before.

I've bought from them and I really like the lipsticks I got. You do need a liner because they tend to feather and they are definitely drying so I recommend wearing a balm underneath.

That make sense that you'd need a liner because judging by the picture they look like they'd have a bit of slip to them. I'm seriously considering buying Tango and Melancholy though.
