I wasnt going to say anything but a lot of comments. I love bloggers esp Karen and T for the quality of posts and high pic quality. Though I often check musingsofamuse, I dont regularly not bec of her headband or teeth or lips or whatever other " constructive criticism" you meant. Its just bec the lighting is diff and doesnt give an accurate shade. As long as how she looks or dresses up doesnt affect the product she is reviewing, I dont understand how it is any of our concern.  Just because she posts pics on the net, doesnt make her have to loose her headband or whever style she has been following from the beginning. There is nothing constructive about all this. The only thing we can hope is ask for a diff lighting and that may count as constructive criticism. Everyone has their individual styles whether we like it or not and speaking candidly about that and hoping it will be taken as postive criticism is just wishful thinking. Although we all lip swatches and love to see how it looks in person those arent going to be accurate either anymore than the hand swatces. A lot depends on the lip pigmentation and the basic undertone, so the same lipstick can look a lot diff on two. Sometimes MAC does have quality issues. Why can we not just assume that when a blooger has problem with a product but we could get good perfromance out of it, its just bec of a fauly batch than assuming the worst out of them. Blogging though looks really cool, is actually a lot of work esp for serious bloggers and I believe T and Karen are among them. I know I am going to get a lot of constructive criticism for this, but I had to say this. ;)
Very nicely said and I agree wholeheartedly!

I can only speak for myself but if she asked and I could tell her myself I would.  I never insulted her physical appearance or even the headband thing because like I said before I wasn't even sure if it was something religious or not...and even if it isn't I don't care...if that's the way she chooses to present herself to the world so be it.  The repetitive side way pose and the limited amount of swatches bit I stand by.  I feel that if you're a professional blogger and especially if you get free products to review, you have a responsibility to the public you're making money of to present the products the best way possible....and 2-3 pictures doesn't help us much. I hope so too, I stopped checking her blog long ago... I agree
If anyone considers this a mean girls club, I feel they have had a very sheltered life. Mean to me is a whole other realm of existence than anything I have ever seen here. Maybe it is because I lived through the Socratic Method in classes daily for years. That can give a whole new meaning to mean but it is for the betterment of the individual through criticism. Give me a break. I have not lived a "sheltered life". I simply feel that this site can be very catty. Plain and simple.

I am rocking a headband today to cover my lace front's front part of my wig, lol. Been told I look like Wonder Woman! I practically never ever wear any hair accessories. Anywayz, loving everyone rocking their purple goodness. You are all looking really pretty. I am so tempted by PH to give up my beloved glosses, ha ha, nah!
Get it will looks fab on u

Cattyness and non-constructive criticism have no purpose and or use but so does over sensitivity. We're all different and therefore perceive things differently, I think that as long as you do it respectfully and avoid personal attacks everyone has the right to express their opinion.: )

I think the problem here most of the time is misunderstanding the differences between catty or mean and pointing out something or being blunt. I guess what gets me is people getting so butt hurt when it is not mean or not even about them. This goes for the repetitive questions too. When someone says check back a few pages then the whining starts that we are a bunch of meanies or whatever.

Has anyone ever seen her teeth either? Maybe we should send her some headbands with some bling or maybe a sock bun thing if she likes to keep it up? Something. I mean, we are already planning the intervention with T and her shadow application method. OMG does she wear the headband everyday IRL? They are all matching her clothes. :pretty:
Her teeth, though? You really didn't need to go there.

The problem is people think it's okay to talk about others and tear them down. There is nothing to be gained from it so why do it. You may not think it's mean but most people who are mean usually don't think they are. I can't help but to think that maybe if we all would just think first before we say things this world would be a better place. It's not about everybody winning or always stating our opinion because we can. It's about respect for the individual.

Nobody here is being mean.  I agree--it's constructive criticism.  Muse's blog annoys me (and apparently some others too) so I choose not to read it.  I use to give her the benefit of the doubt with the headband thing, but then she posted one day that she wears those headbands because she is too lazy to wash her hair.  ???!!!  My opinon is if you have a commercial blog, which I believe Musings of a Muse is, you should put your best face forward.  Your face is being broadcasted to the entire world, so why choose to represent yourself and your brand in such a way, and then make a lame excuse for it? I actually hope she is reading this!  She really does have a lot of potential, and I hope that one day she would put more effort into her appearance on the internet. People go innnnnnn on T over and over here, but at least she tries!
If it was a hair blog, I'd agree with you, but it's not.

I call BS. Because people find certain things out of order doesn't mean they are sheltered. How is talking about the girl's teeth helpful?

THAT is how you give constructive criticism.

I was asking a serious question, as in does she ever smile and show them? That is a serious part of a lipstick color for me in how it impacts the color of the teeth. I do love that about T because you can see how a color can make her white teeth appear yellow. It is totally legit and not making fun of her teeth.

I should never have even mentioned Muse's review of this lipstick. I feel like I inadvertently opened up a can of worms.

I did not make fun of her teeth. I asked if anyone has ever seen them, as I said in the previous post, I look at how lipstick colors can change the appearance of the teeth. That is important in a beauty blog IMO and was not a joke or to make fun of her. If I said "OMG HAVE YOU SEEEN HER teeth", as in they are messed up, that would be being mean. GFG.
