MAC 2008 Icon Speculation and Dame Edna Discussion

Now that we have found out the price of the eyeshadow trios is $32.50 (thanks Randy Rose!!!

) I am seriously considering both of them...

A single eyeshadow is AUD$32 in Australia, so this is an absolute bargain for me! yay!

Ooh I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures for this collection. Sounds fab! I especially like the sound of the Wisteria eye trio and the highlight powders.

I thought you said that you liked Liza Red. That was an AC, unfortunely. And yes, I'm disappointed too. It seems like a lot of the l/s in upcoming collections are ACs. Well, not a lot. Really just this one and Manish.

Haha, good memory!

I love the color of Liza Red, but I've never owned it or even worn it (it was before my time) so I didn't really know that and have drooled over it regardless.

I have to start budgeting. Good thing I might have a boyfriend by then- and good damn thing he's a pro photographer and totally understands the importance of MAC- i might've hit the jackpot this christmas.

I neeeeeeeeeeeeeed these! I seriously feel like im going to cry with anticipation. I need help.

I've never used a Highlighting powder from MAC before, so what is it?...

Are they supper glittery or matte? I'm really looking for a nice highlight thing but I don't want Glitter, just shimmer. TIA!

Aw, thanks! On the (rare) occasions when I do don the drag, my girl friends / total strangers often make the "I wish I were as pretty as you" type comments . . . my response is always, "girl, if you spent as much on makeup and wore as much and spent an hour and a half applying it, you would look just as good as I do!"

I mean, I think I look damn good in or OUT of makeup, but me in drag is more a reflection of the time and skill involved than my actual self. Lots of people don't recognize me, because I don't look like "me as a girl." Via contouring and the standard "beauty" makeup, I totally change the shape and look of my face - they eyes, the mouth, the bone structure, the brows. Basically the only thing that stays constant is my nose. (Incidentally, in real life I look a *lot* like my late grandmother, but in drag I look *nothing* like her. We have almost all the same features, which in my drag almost totally disappear.)

Um, that was kind of a tangent, but it's all part of me saying thanks!

Edit: PS - if I *were* to walk out of my house like that, I think that people might be like "eeeeew" on account of all the chest hair.
