If it's Kylie then my other half will probably buy the entire collection for me...

I agree that Kylie would be a wonderful choice.

How about Olivia Newton John? She still looks great and has become very involved in issues surrounding breast cancer since her own experience with it. I just hope we find out soon no matter who it is. I always love the Icon collections.

Hello. Thank you for your interest in MAC Cosmetics. My name is Mary-Ann. How may I assist you?
Brooke: Hi! I was wondering if MAC will be doing an Icon collection this year?
Mary-Ann: Hi Brooke, at this time, I have not heard of a new Icon collection coming out.
Mary-Ann: We attend training in June, so we might have more information then.
Brooke: ok, thank u so much!

Kylie would be a great choice. She has had a pretty prolific career that spans several continent and decades. She also fought through breast cancer to come back strong.

She continues to look phenomenal and rocks some pretty bold looks (makeup and costume-wise).

Although she's definitely not "young", she's 73

Although she has made an idelible mark with her beauty, she has a history of outspoken criticism of some Islamic practices, immigration policies and homosexuality in France. MAC wouldn't touch that with a ten foot pole.

They have featured males in campaigns, i.e. Eddie Izzard for the Sexy campaign (as mentioned above) and Elton John, Boy George and technically RuPaul in the Viva Glam campaigns. They have never had a male icon though. That would be pretty cool.

I could never see Janet Jackson or Mariah Carey as Icons in my opinion.

I, too, agree Kylie would be a good choice - both for who she is and her ability rock some amazing makeup.

Yeah definite agreement about Brigitte Bardot...doesn't mix with "all ages, all races, all sexes".

However Gwen Stefani is definitely somebody who I could see in the future as being an icon, but I hate the whole rockabilly look with the passion of a thousand burning suns.

David Bowie would be fantastic! Think of all the Ziggy Stardust and Labyrinth inspired looks! *sigh* and he is still dreamy. lol
