The brush sets are $35 but only at Nordies, I brought 2 sets today!

Yay! I just got back from Nordies, with my holiday haul! I'm sad that this is going to be the end of my reckless spending on MAC though...

Gotta focus on other things for a while. I got the eye brush set and the basic brush kit. After looking at them, they are still cheap quality (even the bag is crappy), but I think worth $35.

Eye brushes:
All of these are pretty decent. The one I'm most concerned about is the 252. It's by no means unusable, but seems a little rigid and stiff compared to the full size one. Again it's not horrible but the only one I'm questioning. All the other brushes in this set are pretty safe, and soft.

Basic brushes:
The 129 is usable which is music to my ears! It's not super soft, and I imagine in not very long it might be too rough to use, but we'll see. The 266 is an utter disaster! It looks NOTHING like the real 266, the bristles are thick and it's fanned out almost. It's obvious that the hairs are really cheap. I don't find this would serve at all as a eyeliner brush, but it does seem possible that it'd work as a brow brush.

Then, I got the Smokey and Warm Palettes. I have never gotten a cool palette before and was tempted to try this one, but it just didn't seem like it'd work too well.

The smokey is super nice, even though some of the colors are perm. I like the dark brown, it's kind of unique for MAC, because even espresso and handwritten don't really compare to being that dark. It reminds me of dark chocolate! Mmm!

I feel that there are a lot of possibilities with this palette.

The warm palette is in my opinion, full of "safe", but one could argue some unique colors as well. It seems nice for fall and the holidays.

Abby Quack: Would you recommened purchasing the full size brushes? I want a few that are in the kits.

I know I'm in the minority but I just do not like the short Brushes...I like fullsize long brushes. The shorter brushes just bug me..I feel like I have to put my whole face up in the mirror when I am using them. Like I said I know I am in the minority!

Yes, that's exactly what is happening to my orders/shipping. It used to be so much faster. I don't think ups changed anything but who knows.

I laughed out loud when I read your 'too many packages lately'

yeah, I can relate. I had my boxes stacked in the garage & hubby said, 'boy there's a lot of black boxes out here'

I just received my Rose Lips set - Gorgeous! I love all 3 colors & they had really great color payoff - at least on me.
I'm not sure there is anything close to the colors in the perm line.

Put Love Alert over Romancin (the darker ls) & it is HOT!

i agree 100% all the other lip sets pale in comparison to this one. they are soooo pretty, i lurve them

^^That's awesome! I didn't look, but they sure didn't seem like lusters & I thought they were so soft feeling. I'm glad I bought 2 sets because I can see myself wearing those colors a lot.

LOL, I think its safe to say that the Rose lip sets will sell out first of the 3 colors since as of right now there are 6 posts in the Carmine swatch section & 4 of them are the rose lips

So i got cool & warm e/s palettes.
i was going to get smokey palette but i already have smokey palette from dior, chanel & some black/dark brown e/s in my mac pro palette.. and i asked myself how many more smokey palette do i want?!?

. so i picked warm palette.

I bought another full size #187 & 217 instead of the set. 187 & 217 in the set are soft but are NOT as soft as the regular. the rest are kinda stiff for my taste. 266 is not good at all. I like the red color on the brush handles but they look like 'toy' brushes. at least that my opinion.

i also got msf petticoat, mes interview & 181. i kinda like mes in this collection, they are so smooth. i don't know yet what i will do with the glitter in the middle. someday i will figure out

. i think red in dangerzone is little darker than red in mi'lady. my ma sprayed fix + on the brush to get deeper red from dangerzone. it's a very very pruttyyyy red

also she put petticoat over star naked on my cheeks. it's so gorgeous.

i spent $230 today

.... time to save money & skip some next collections until brunette collection.

Yes, I absolutely recommend purchasing the full-size brushes, even if you can't get them all now. The kits are okay, they're functionable and nice to have on hand if you're traveling or whatever, but the quality of the full-size is just amazing. If you don't have ANY brushes at all, the kit would be good in the meantime, but any basic brush sets from most brands will probably equal or outdo the quality of the holiday sets. I hope that makes sense!

Man the display was so pretty! I ran out of hand space from swatching everything. I got Smokey palette, Cool palette, pink lip palette, petticoat and stark naked. I wanted more, but a) I spent enough as it was and b) I'm getting birthday money/gcs next week woo hoo!

I caved...I got the eye brush set. For $35 I will take it!! Not for $50 though.
I can just tell the quality in the brush sets have done down. I have a set that I bought when Patternmaker came out & a set from Novel Twist & they quality just seems soo much better. Oh well, like I said for $35, why the hell not!

I did get the warm eye palette & this will be my 1st Holiday pallette!!! I just thought this packaging & colors was soo gorgeous & bunny's review, SOLD!

I did also manage to pick up the last Pure Rose l/s from Ungaro too!

I love every color in the rose lip bag,all 3 are so stunning.

And of course I lovvve pinks so I must have it anyway!I buy all pink lippies that MAC releases lol
