Yay, I'm so glad so many of you got to play with this collection today! I was actually pleasantly surprised. I don't have time to regurgitate it all right now, but I did post swatches/review at my blog, so check it out, and I'll try to get them on here too soon.

But one thing I wanted to post:
IMG_0182.jpg

l to r: Equality, Close to Real and Fleshpot

Equality HAS to be the LIGHTEST MAC lipstick I've ever seen! Makes Fleshpot looks so dark!
lol.gif
I love it though, just what I've been wanting!

This may have been asked before, but this site is too too slow to search. I need to know if any of the e/s in the collection are comparable to any of the colors in the permanent line? Thanks!

Got back from Mac a while ago and it took me about 10 minutes before I could get to this darn page. Ugh.

Anyway...I bought Banshee and Cross-Cultural shadows and Preppy lipgelee from Lillyland. I am happy with 2 out of the three. I love the shadows.

Banshee is like a dusty pink with glitter. The description on Mac.com is very accurate. I love this color and can't wait to wear it.
Cross-Cultural is a gorgeous brown. It can be used for the crease or even the lid. It's not too light or too dark.
Showstopper was interesting to me, but I decided against it. It's so brown, it's almost black looking. I don't really go that dark on the eyes and I'm not big on matte's anyway.
The other shade, I found to be too pale and a bit chalky. I couldn't see myself wearing this at all.

I completely skipped the lipsticks. Myself was way too pale for me. I was wearing Naked by urban decay and it's the same color, but with WAY more kick.
Empowered was an interesting color. If you like browns then you should like this. I am not a fan of satin's or brown really, so I passed.
5N is a pretty plummy brown color, but i found it unnecessary since I have hold the pose and other similar colors. It is pretty, though.

I wasn't impressed with any of the lipglasses enough to buy them. I debated on Glamour for All, but I decided against it because the texture is so milky (?) it settled into the lines on my hands I know it'll do that on my lips. my lips are too full for that kind of disaster.

I also bought the 224 brush that I've wanted for a while. The lipgelee is going back. It's pretty much glitter with a little tint. I knew I should've stayed away. I hate returns. I'll have a more details on lillyland in that post. If that page wants to load today. LOL

Abbyquack made mention on her blog that Univeral Mix reminded her of Provence Pigment. I just did a comparison, and they are very similar. UM is even sheerer than Provence, with a tiny bit of blue-green shimmer. I doubt the difference would be detectable on the eye. I am just shocked at how sheer this pigment is. I had such high hopes for it, but I seriously doubt I will be keeping it, especially since you get so little for your money. I forgot to mention in my other post that my jar wasn't even full

Makes me sad.

Went to mac today to see the new collection and here are my thoughts.

Pigments: Universal Mix was like a more golden version of vanilla pigment. I thought this was very pretty and sparkly. I bought this even though I was so disappointed to see the new pigment size and jar design.
Rich Life is a really pretty dark brown with golden sparkle. This reminded me a lot of Nars galapagos e/s, but darker. I almost didn't get it because it seemed so similiar to that Nars shadow, but I'm weak and I caved.

Eye Shadows:
Lightest color (forget the name)- Was not even noticable on my NC25 hand. Skipped.
Banchee: I'm not a huge pink e/s fan, and its a luster. Skipped
Cross Cultural: I was very close to gettting this, but it reminded me of other brown e/s that I already have. It wasn't unique enough if you have many of the perm mac e/s.
Show Stopper: I thought this was really unique for mac. It is a blackened brown. I think this would be great to add depth to a neutral look in the outer corner. This came home with me.

I have a ton of lip glosses and I'm not a lip stick girl, so I didn't even swatch them. I had a ton of blushes so I skipped those too.

I think the standout products were the pigments even if they are in miniscule crapty jars >.<

Yep, The Perfect Cheek might be perfect if it was a little more pigmented!

Does anyone here remember the lipglass stain that came in like the lipgelee tubes called Briefly Pink???

I LOVE LOVE that color & was wondering if Myself or Glamour for all is even close to that color.

My Briefly Pink lip gel is, well like umm, clear motor oil after all this time

I forgot to mention the beauty powder blushes. They are too similar to the ones from Makeup Arts. In the pan, the darker one has shimmer, but it's not noticeable on the skin. It's just a bit more brown than notable, but only a bit. The Perfect Cheek was death on me, so I'm not getting the pale one from this collection.

Well I only got personal style, since I know for sure that's what I wanted. There was a mother daughter hovering over the display for awhile, so I really didn't look at anything else. I will tomorrow.

Personal Style is just awesome! I am a NC25 & like purttykitty said perfect blush for a smokey eye look!

Honestly, I didn't even swatch it. I had my 2 boys with me (they are 6 & 7) and I was terrified that they were going to destroy the place. I just quickly looked over a few things and got them out of there.

From all of the reviews I have read, and the pictures that I have seen, it seems to settle in the lines of the lips, which is not pretty.
nope.gif
I think I will be exchanging the pigment that I got for something else though, so I will check it out for you and let you know what I think

Mine too...well, all my Lipglass Stains are. Briefly Pink actually reminds me a lot of Underage lipglass. I think Glamour for All may be a tad darker. Feeling Dreamy l/g from Warm & Cozy actually looks a lot closer.

Really?, I didn't even look at Feeling Dreamy. Briefly Pink really covers my pigmented lips for the perfect nude/pink lip. Wonder if they will ever bring that color back.

Thanks Karin

here's my review pretty much copied and pasted from my blog. For reference I wear NW25 in studio sculpt and a mix of NW25 and NW30 in studio fix:

The lipglasses are very nice and all quite pigmented. I really liked Naked Frost and Liquer in the tube but they didn't actually flatter me once I put them on :/ I did end up getting Glamour For All though. It's a pigmented milky pink shade and if you're a fan of super nude lips like me, it's a must. It's a paler and more pigmented version of Underage l/g.

The lipsticks didn't appeal to me much. I was interested in Myself and Empowered initially; Myself is too sheer for my super pink lips and Empowered is the least flattering colour I've ever tried on. I mean, it probably will work for some folks but the MAC Gods did not create it with me in mind, lol!

I liked the 3 matte eyeshadows but I'm not a Lustre fan so I didn't swatch Banshee. Showstopper swatches very similar to Embark on my skin so that was a skip. The surprise for me was All Races as it was very pigmented and not a colour I have in my collection; it's sort of a grayed lilac colour, super pretty! I definitely recommend this eyeshadow and I picked it up.

For the rest of the collection, I skipped the brow pencils as you all know I have full brows and on the rare occasion that I do fill them, I use power. The blushes have lovely texture but All's Good is too dark on me and made my cheeks look muddy. I think it's meant to give a darker person a natural flush. Personal Style gave me a hint of colour but not enough to get me interested. I also skipped the pigments. I'm still not over the jar reduction and the colours are not "me".

So i ended up with Glamour for All and All Races and quite happy with my small haul

I got All Ages, Cross Cultural, and Showstopper e/s from this collection and that was it.

I am debating going back for Personal Style BPB since so many NW15-ish girls seem to love it.

I also really like Myself lipstick but I have a lot of other things similar.

A very pretty collection but not much wowed me which I guess isn't a bad thing!
