Ya gotta be kidding me with Mac being Mad about people finding photos and product info. When you put out collections that are gone faster than the time it takes to boil a damn egg, what's wrong with people finding out what's in those collections and planning accordingly? It's makeup. It's not that serious. Maybe they're afraid of giving people too much time to realize they're pumping out things that we already have or that other companies are putting out and you'll have all the time in the world to buy it. The Mac brand is held up on reputation built long ago, the cultivation of hysteria and the fear of missing out. It's lame.

Urban Decay did the same thing about the Electric Palette. Of course the damage is already done, but I suspect it's more about not being seen to accept/condone these leaks. Someone will get their ass kicked for this. It's not the fault of beauty bloggers that someone within the organization broke a confidentiality clause.

Now, Naynadine. Hold still while I help erase that image for you. This won't hurt too much a bit.

@Megdal, MAC is that old boyfriend who bores you most of the time and annoys you more than attracts you…but who you still occasionally spend an evening with (nostalgia, alcohol, he has working parts and he'll do exactly what you tell him to with them, etc). We'll always have our memories, I just need to see other people now.

they should be glad we spend our money on them. I know alot more brands I could spend my money on, but i like mac. If I hadn't seen the product photos i would have spent the money Ive been saving for this one already lol

So I'm not alone!!!

I've been joking extensively about this but it was really starting to bother me.
Nope you ladies are not alone. This collex is one I would have grabbed everything of, but it just looks like items I already have and barely use. I"m like Audrey, I'm starting to experiment with more brands.

The only issues I see with leeks is that MAC wants the consumer to focus on the product that is currently out. Will I buy as much from By request, Patent Polish, if I know there are 5 collex coming? PRobably not, I need to spread my money out instead of splurging on the current collection. OR MAC just wants to be a control freak, and control their marketing campaigns. OR They want everyone to have an equal opportunity to see the items at the same time. Maybe they really do feel that early leeks, means less excitement when the acutal day gets here.

Relase dates are never set in stone. Lots of variables.. but, that said, MAC does like to play games. And, we, like the rat searching for cheese, just jump at the trap.. lol

so very true.. but to MAC, makeup IS money.. so it has to be guarded .. knockoffs can be on the market in less than 7 days, and then we would be really really confused.

Before i shop a collection, i ALWAYS make a list of "MUST Haves" and "Want to Tests".

I make sure to take my list to the store.

I make sure they're all set aside first, especially if the place is crowded. Then i hit the testers. Sometimes "Must Haves" turn out to be "Don't Wants". Sometimes items that didn't make it to my list at all turn out to be "Musts". I check swatches under shop light and under natural light - my stand-alone MAC has windows on two sides.

I ignore hype - just 'cuz "everyone" wants, for example, a neon pink lipstick, doesn't mean i want it. I only buy what i really like and what i like on me.

IMO MAC strives for secrecy to build hype once a product is released. The less you know about a collection, the less time you have to compare the products to what other companies have to offer, and the less time you have to talk yourself out of impulse purchases. Their methods help create an aura of exclusivity and help collections sell out. The want consumers to buy products that they think they can't get at another time or place. For me, I was really excited about some of the recent collections. But after seeing online swatches and the like I realized many of the items really weren't my taste at all.

Based on what I see on IG, i'm getting 4 of the EDES, they are gorge and it's time to haul some more! I think the ones I want will make for a great summer eye. Did y'all see that peachstock gloss??? I'm into it! I'm kinda glad Maleficent is a bit of a dud for hauling. More money for this collection.
