How have people found the quality of Mac nail polish in the past? Half-decent or just average? (Wear/streakiness/pigmentation etc.?)

You can add a contour basically anywhere you want to create a bit of a shadow to make the bones seem more prominent. I usually sweep it under my cheekboones and up to my temples. You can also apply aorund the nose, jaw... basically anywhere you want to create the illusion of a "relief".

Kind of inconsistent, actually, although I will say that I think they've been better in the last couple of years. I know a lot of people don't care for their formula, but I think it's generally good. The biggest problem is that I find there can be a lot of variation from one polish to another.

I didn't like cheek contouring on me at all when I was heavier - there were no bones standing out there and making pretend ones just didn't cut it for me.

I did like a little contouring back then down the sides of my face from the temples down to the jawline and then a bit around the jawline, just to make my face look less round.

Now that I'm back to being thin, I definitely like the cheek contouring again, since I've got a pretty flat bone structure, but it's still something I only like to do very carefully. Equilibrium blush has been my #1 choice to use, but eventually I'd like to find a cream blush that would do the job. Maybe Tea Petal Cremeblend Blush, since I like that formula, but it's not as perfect as I'd like.

Definitely going to check out Strada & am looking forward to the contouring collection coming out next year.

I always get compliments on my lips but ONLY when I contour them lol a lil darkness bellow lower lip and highlight on cupids bow!

ALWAYS do my nose and cheekbones and temples. Contouring is the most fun part of make up (to me)

I have only tried a few but immediately sold them all when it took me TWENTY cotton rounds to get 3 coats of Ming Blue nailpolish off my nails...and my fingers will still stained for the next 36 hours. Even after a bath and multiple lotion applications...and more remover....etc.
Which was really too bad because the color was spectacular. But I also found the brush slightly too skinny, I prefer the size of OPI brushes.

I think Mac polishes have improved so much in last two years! The first Mac nail polish I tried was Something about Pink from the Hello Kitty collection, and it was the worst nail polish I have ever used. I then swore I would never buy a polish from Mac again. But Blue India from GMLOL collection won me over. It was so much better. And ever since the polishes I've gotten have been great except for one (Little Girl Type)! That's so good because I love some colours Mac has put out. Yay!

I can't wait to see how these polishes look like, they sure sound great. This is btw the first couture collection that I like. Packaging and all.

I think I might skip this couture collection. The only items I'm interested in are the Metal-X cream eyeshadows and the pigments. I'm just not sure if I like the colors and special packaging enough to justify the special price. I've never tried Metal-X before. Are they good?

You've got more natural cheekbones than I do for sure! Definitely try it and worst case scenario, try it more down the sides of the face and at the jawline, rather than swooping all the way under the cheekbones towards the middle of the face.

I already thought that you contoured your cheeks! I'm sure that it will look really nice on you

I'm also a pale skinned round faced lady, and while I don't contour my cheeks everyday, I certainly like to for some looks. As long as I use a light hand I think it can look really nice, adds a little oomph to my look. I can't wait to buy Strada

I've been on the look out for it ever since I saw Leesha using it as a contour in a few of her tutorials.

Well, the metal cream e/s were crease city on me, but I was hoping these would be different...

Lou you got the most incredible cheekbones, for sure you can contour if you want! Go for it! :) Strada is the way to go for ultrafair people, I already have two of them so no need for more. I like it as a blush too.

metal x is going to crease on the eyes.. the formula was revampled slightly, but a duck is a duck is a duck.. quack quack.

if worn on the eyes, these will crease unless primed and powdered over with es or powder.

Thank you, HerGreyness! This makes it easier for me to skip.
