MAC Art of Powder Discussion

Sorry, all. Not to offend anyone's lemmings, but I have nothing good to say about this collection. I really am wondering why MAC is releasing this collection. What a waste of perfectly good plastic.

The bronzer, which contains bright pink, will make one appear the colour of sunburn or as a victim of unchecked hypertension. Let's call it what it is.....blush. Yeah, I don't want that much of one colour of blush. I am also guessing that MAC will make it overpriced due to the "special" product imprinting.

The shadow. Let's see...where to start? The 2010? Or perhaps the fact that it looks like a crappy, knock-off of a Basquiat that a major retailer hijacked to put on a sweatshirt circa 1986. Yeah, I can see the gang on Saved by the Bell rocking that HARD. The colours couldn't be any duller either. In fact, I am wondering if the photographer spilled his/her coffee over it they when they took the PR photos.

The highlight powder has potential, but if there is even the tiniest of price increase to account for MAC's imprinting that simplistic design, I will not even entertain the idea of buying it.

What a disappointment.

Looking at Karen's swatches, I don't really see anything that looks that original in use. And I don't really want to buy makeup to look at it in the pan...

yeah that is pretty much how i feel. at first i was all over the highlight palette because in the promo pics it looks lovely. but swatched and in actual real life photos it doesn't look that great. i shall buy the chanel highlighting powder from their holiday collection instead.

I gree with you. I like marine life's color, but hate having to be picky about using it cos "the friggin seahorse" haunts me.

Haha, do you have nightmares where golden seahorses attack you and then you are swallowed by a gigantic hibiscus flower? :)

You know, I like the highlighter. But call me cheap, because I am not spending $38+ on one single highlighter that will last long after I'm dead. Like everyone else, I won't buy it to just look at it. That's what pictures are for :p

This collection is weird and a total PASS for me.

I feel like a murderer every time I use ML. My seahorse is fading, gradually having his existence erased by my brushes.

Having seen the swatches of the highlighter, it looks a lot like the Clarins 3D highlighter that just came out, although not quite as shimmery. http://msglitzy.com/2011/08/clarins-colour-definition-autumn-2011-collection/

No, I have nightmares of you convincing me to buy every product MAC comes up with :p just kidding.... no but its like i dont wanna fuck the seahorse up, cos its cool to look at.
Without the seahorse, the weird partition between coral and highlight color is totally weird lol.

Bring on the next collection! This will be a total skip for me. I know I say that often then come home with 2 or 3 products. I'm really sure about this one.
