Or try shroom on the lid, BB in crease, SB as transition, anf the dark in the outer corner.
thank you so much. I was in a rush as usual in the morning when I applied it and it just seemed off. I'll retry tomorrow with some of your recommendations. Switching the lid and the crease actually already makes sense now that you say it. I don't know what I was thinking. I'm not artistic in that way so I appreciate your help.

It's ok! Sometime you just get excited and or in a rush and things happen. Lemme know how it works! By the way, BB or the darker one will work for the bottom lashline for either look

Medgal, here are my eyes... Please don't quote, I'm probably gonna delete it. LOL So with an eye shape like this, where does the transition color go?
Pretty eye look Prettypackages! Your eyes are kind of like mine. I usually just put the transition color a little above that fold on the lid.

@Prettypackages: your eyes are gorgeous and WHY can't a gorgeous blue e/s look that jaw dropping on me? Nothing wrong with those eyes girl! Nor the brows.

Ugh, I just went and looked at the quad and feel like a complete fool for switching the colors like I did. It is so obvious. I knew better.

I'm firing myself from my face! I am not a morning person and am always running late. I often quasi fall asleep while staring in the closet, in the mirror, on the commode. I just space off in the morning for minutes at a time. I did use the darker color on my bottom lashline and it looked good. I usually never do that for work, but it just looked off and I was trying to fix it. I'm not creative enough to try new things before work.

Thank you!! I don't wear blue e/s either. I told the MUA to have his way.
Very pretty, Pretty! Do you remember if they used Blue Flame damp/dry?

Aradana, you can use Shop & Drop e/s in the meantime---very close in color--different formula. BF is a MES---so, so pretty!
I do believe he dampened the brush with fix+

That's why i try new things at night! I had a big meeting the other day with a salon owner who wants me to do makeup for events for her, and i did a complete eye look the night before on one eye. It's the best time to try new things!

So when you guys say transition color, do you just mean crease color? or is it a color you use in addition to the crease color?
For me, I use a transition color to blend the crease color into the browbone, bridging the two.

Here is a diagram from The Fancy Face: http://thefancyface.blogspot.com/2010/10/tips-for-beginners-eyeshadow-placement.html. You can find additional diagrams on there for reference. Hope this helps.

I've been trying not to cave and order Banafsaji but I think Richelle's swatches are pushing me over the edge. Now that people have gotten theirs is this really a must have shade? I need to be swayed one way or the other!

That's a very handy diagram! It's similar to how I apply my makeup too except I don't have a separate browbone and highlight colour. The transition or crease colour I fade just above the crease as well so you have a nice transition into the browbone/highlight colour. When I use a transition colour I use a second crease colour too and apply it less far out. For me a transition shade can also be a lighter version of my other crease colour like a blue or green and not just a brown. My eyes are also a bit hooded and that's why I apply colour just above the crease as well, so it shows up when I open my eyes.

If you're trying not to buy it, would it help to hear that I found mine a little dry and powdery? That said, it's still a cool color...

I got my order of Parrot and Hajar Karim and I actually really dont have a problem with the green, I used a brush and it didnt take much to get it true to pan. I did comparisons one swipe at a time with parrot and it took about 2 apiece to get it nice and solid color on bare skin, I think using a brush is key with this one

Threw on HJ just to see how it looked, I dont have any similar colors so I will be keeping it! Used Parrot around the edge
Edit: I used NYX as a base on my eyes, habit for me when I use bright colors that I want to pop, and SugarPill's Lumi in the tearduct

Built up in 3 passes on left, 1 pass on right ( using patting with brush)
Bare skin

I swatched my shadows today on my arm with a brush and love them all. Especially Parrot. It leans more green than blue on me, which I prefer. I swatched them all on my bare skin without bases or primers. I don't think I'll have trouble applying the colors when I use them for real on my eyes. I also realize I have very few mattes in my collection. I mostly have Veluxe Pearl, Frost or MES. I had to keep reminding myself that Hajar Karim, Gameela and Farasha are supposed to look dull.

:agree: i don't like that it labels the browbone as where the transition colour goes, because your browbone is where your highlight colour should go, not as two separate areas of the eye. The browbone is the most prominent feature of the eye, and thus the area to be highlighted (with the exception of a protruding brow). The transition colour should ideally be placed in the upper part of the crease area, with the bottom portion overlapping, and transitioning into, the upper part of the crease colour. IMO. And as you mentioned, it doesn't always have to be brown. I've used purple tones such as trax and haux as transition colours before too. Softer corals are great transition colours when using, say, red brick or orange in crease. All the transition colour should be is a colour softer/lighter than the crease colour, so as not to create a harsh line occurring between the crease and highlight color.

Btw Erin switched my lid and crease color today and it looks as intended. However the Najm el Lail didn't even last 4 hours on my eye and was patchy. And I don't put the transition color on the brow bone either. That's where I highlight. I was curious about that area having two labels.
