The True Romantic I ordered just arrived--I ordered it yesterday! Now that's fast shipping!

It's really pretty a medium pink with a very slight mauve undertone and a pretty sheen. I think I'll be ordering more of these.

thank you!!! for stating the quality of blushes and that theym might crumble during depotting...i've been asking around and it seems as though i'm freaking talking "alien"...do you think through time depotting will be easier once its been used and molded to be more of a not so flat and easy to crumble?

Hmmm...I really couldn't tell you. I've never depotted blushes myself, just e/s, but if I did I think I would probably just leave these the way they are and not risk it.

i didn't have the other blushes to compare if it is the matt-EST, but i still wouldnt call it matte. i can see it shimmer in the pan lol. when i put on sweetness, it has a bit of a sheen of a beauty powder on me. i still wouldnt call it matte anyhow...

i got my feeling in the mail yesterday... its a nice muted browned plum... less plummy than i was expecting... and it has equal shimmer as sweetness when i swiped it with different fingers on my hand, in my opinion.

i cant wait to go to the MAC counter tmr!

I know there are two colors that look like the Fafi blushes. What two colors are those? So I won't buy them.

I heard Joyous is like Hipness, and Sweetness is a slightly brighter version of fashion frenzy.

I tried to go look at these babies today (I had to kill time between classes) so I went to a Nordstrom that I dont usually go to, and asked if I could see them. The MA was like "they dont come out until tomorrow." And i said "I know, i just want to look at them." and he REFUSED to let me look at them! i was like DUDE, its not like im gonna steal em. I just wanna see before I tell my boyfriend what to order online for me. sheesh =/

And the funny thing is, they had Heatherette on display in a glass case. But i couldnt see some freakin BLUSHES that come out the next day?!

some counters don't like to give a sneak peak of stuff. my manager doesn't offer sneak peaks to people, some just don't get excited enough to give sneak peaks. i offer peaks to loyal customers and people who ask if new stuff comes out. it's an personal thing, that's all.

I'm so excited!! Only 10 hours until I head off to my nearest (alright, the only one in the province) MAC store to purshase these suckers. I'm getting True Romantic, Joyous, Sweetness, Secret Blush, and Shy Beauty. I'm seriously deprived blush-wise, and the glowy aspect of the blushes is right up my highlight-addicted alley!

oh yeah, i totally understand, i just thought it was weird that heatherette was out but i couldnt just look at the blushes.

and also he was being a little bit rude about it, it bothered me, like just bc im young doesnt mean im not a serious customer.

I need advice!

I'm in the UK for awhile and I don't want to pay UK prices so I am going to have them shipped to the States. Can anyone recommend shades for me? I'm a N4/NW20 and I am looking for two shades that are varied - one that's a light, rosy color and the other that's more for a darker, bronzier look. Based on the swatches and what I've read, I'm thinking Sweetness and Joyous.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I don't really think joyous would be good for a bronzier look, it's more of just a coral/peach - very pretty still, but I think eversun would be better for this.

Re: Beauty Powder Blush Discussion

Could someone recommend either Shy Beauty or Joyous for me? I'm NC15, blue eyes and auburn hair. I'm worried that Shy Beauty will be too light , and Joyous will be too dark. I can really only afford one right now.

Thanks!

I am NW 20, too. For what you are looking for take Sweetness and Eversun.

Re: Beauty Powder Blush Discussion

yay...they arrived! These blushes are absolutely gorgeous...all 6 that I got I love. The consistency/texture is so soft and blendable...imo...its the perfect blush. They have the perfect subtle shimmer - nothing heavy at all, just the right amount of glow.

I would highly recommend these 3:
True Romantic - the prettiest mauvey, plumy pink - beautiful
Sweetness - gorgeous healthy looking soft bright pink
Joyous - natural flush pretty peach

Shy Beauty - the most subtle feminine very pale pinky peach - beautiful highlighter
Secret Blush - pretty, subtle plum
Feeling - Darker plum

You can also use Feeling as a contour with Secret Blush on top - very pretty combo

I will probably buy the other 2 colors that I didn't get, Eversun & Serenely just because I believe that MAC totally got these right. And, I'm going to get another True Romantic because I think its just the most gorgeous cheek color that I own now.

As far as trying to compare to the 2 Fafi Blushes...they are so not the same color or consistency. I think MAC should not only make these Perm, but I would add more colors as well.

Do you think Sweetness could work on me if Barbie Don't Be Shy looked awful (just really fake/off on my skintone)? The only non-plummy pink that's ever looked good on me has been Smile from Raquel, which is a warmer pink....

I agree, Joyous should be perfect - it's a beautiful peach. Shy Beauty has very very little color. It is the sheerest pinky peach, more like a highlighter, but still pretty.
