MAC by Request (April 1,2014)

Yes, I'm #TeamRozz but I wouldn't be mad if Glam ended up taking the #3 spot. It's actually a very pretty color. The only thing I truly want from this collection is Butterscotch. T has no dupes for it. The lipsticks not so much.
ETA: That's an awesome idea...similar to what I was saying a few pages back. We definitely need By Request to be bi-annual. One collection for spring/summer with pastels/brights and one collection with vamps/neutrals for fall/winter.

It seems like Butterscotch and Fiction are the only truly unique products they chose. Everything else is dupeable color-wise, formulas, scents, etc. aside.

That certainly would have made more sense than what they did! Instead we got all highlighters and dark colored ES, plus 3 bright lipsticks and 2 nudes. With all but 4 of the lipsticks being some variation of pink.

Nude lipsticks in particular are so hard to tell if they work or not without seeing them in person. Even then it can be tough. At least having a separate BR for it would have at least allowed them to include some cool-toned nudes as well. But I digress.

I looked back through last year's BR thread, and apparently it was the same situation last year. I can't see timestamps to tell exactly when it stopped.

My guess is it should go offline as soon as it hits the time it was first posted 2 weeks ago (whenever that was). But since this is MAC, we shall see.

Or at least let us choose between let's say 25 lipsticks and 25 eyeshadows so we can choose our own top 6 lipsticks and top 6 eyeshadows. And when the top 6's been chosen.. then the voting starts! I really wanted Rozz to win, I'm so sad right now.

I wouldn't know where to begin for anything prior to fall 2010, because that's when I first got into MAC (thank you, Venomous Villains), so I would definitely need a list to choose from. I like the idea of them providing 25 to start with. Then narrow that down in one round, then choose the winners in the final round.

It's also a shame they don't do a By Request: Classics and a By Request: New Favorites, or something like that. Then we could all enjoy a mix of old, long gone stuff, and newer but hard to obtain LE products.

On the upside for Team Rozz, perhaps they'll see how close it came and make it part of an upcoming collection? 3N did show up later on last year, but who knows if that was planned beforehand or not.

I haven't felt very good the last couple of weeks and I hoped the thought of Rozz coming back would cheer me up, but that's not going to happen most likely

I also would like more shades to choose from the next time and I think a collection with only 3 lipsticks and 3 eyeshadows is pretty small and they could definitely bring more shades back.

This By Request is making me ill

I feel like I cannot celebrate Glam being up there because I know gals really wanted Rozz or Flavour or Tomango for that matter. The really bad part is that this is the one group that would normally celebrate a lippie love and I just feel crass to say hurray. I am kinda upset with MAC since I feel the joy of make-up has been sucked out by the competition and losers vs winners thing. Actually I was on a whole Estee Lauder ban after the Riri Summer coll fiasco and I wrote then that I would only get involved again if they announced Glam as a possible contender.... well before the unveil. A part of me is so happy that my HG color might be available for purchase but the whole experience kinda soured me even more. I didn't vote last year and I cannot imagine any other color that would have induced me to voting this year or any other year for that matter. I feel so bad for the Rozzettes and TeamTomango and Flavourflaves. I don't see why they couldn't have just brought them all back in a looking back through the archives collection.

I don't like how MAC does it's LE collections. I have written before that most companies I deal with make things available for a limited time such as a month or two not a we only made X amount and fight for them that MAC does. Makeup is supposed to be fun not 2 weeks or more of agonizing and worrying and stuff followed by an ungoshly waiting room, mailing room fiascos and Sold Out notifications that come out faster than the avg wait in the waiting room anyway. Gah

Despite all of this if Glam does end up in the final 3 I will be there frantically trying to get my 4 tubes because I easily went through that many when it was available. Heck I probably went through 3/yr~ definitely 2/yr so 4 won't even last me long.

My number one choices were Glam and Tomango from the start but when I realized neither was gonna make it I started showing support for Rozz which was a great second choice. I truly thought it was safe but not even leaving my computer voting all day (for days) was enough, sorry Pinkdollface :/..... I'm still annoyed over the fact that PP won first place for such mediocre finish and shade but Im glad that at least flavour didnt make it third place. Except for Glam l/s this collection will be a skip for me so I guess thats worth celebrating
