MAC - Cham Pale Discussion

I'm not totally in love with Dangerous Cuvee but I do really like it. I tried applying with my finger and the 249 and both gave good results, altho the brush gives a cleaner application. DC does look a bit scaley on it's own on my lids but gives such a nice low-key sparkle with shadow or pigment applied with a fluff brush. Yesterday I tried Soft Ochre from mid-lid to brow then DC from lash to lid, Unversal pigment on inner lid and Family Crest to smoke out. It turned out pretty well (except for being lopsided due to bad lighting!). Can't wait till I can wear something similar in the spring with Let Me Pop!

I got what I wanted from DC from Idol Eyes shadow applied over Too Faced shimmer primer (Bare Study would prob work too). As with most lustres, I use the "pat" method and get a decent result. I also thought Chilled on Ice was very similar to Bare Study. I do believe different skin tones and textures will wear things differently but I fell in the category of people who could not get a decent result from the pots. Chez Chez Lame is a nice shimmer but just didn't pop enough on me and I had a lot of dupable items. I have been a fan of a line called Earth Glo Minerals for a few years now.... her products are amazing and I use her Bedazzled eye shadow as a highlighter and it is awesome. She also has a shadow called Sugar Cookie that works as an amazing highlighter. I hope it is okay to post a link (I never thought of mentioning this line on Specktra before): http://earthglominerals.com/minerals//catalog/

I do adore the lipgelees. My tendency is a heavy, dark eye with a pale shimmery lip so these were really all I hoped for. I also agree that Bubble Lounge is great over so many lipsticks to really add oomph.

I couldnt plow through this entire tread. Normally I do but I have the attention span of a gnat today. So does anyone know of a dupe for Soiree n/p? I tried this one yesterday. I like it not sure if I love it for $15.

^ Thats exactly my attention span today. I saw a dupe somewhere can't remember where. I have Soiree on right now - I like it, but I don't love it. However, my mac MA is a woc - & 1 coat looked really nice on her.

I feel like Gold Finger

Great now I have that song in my head!! Soiree is lovely on my thumb. I love a cream polish and this is a departure for me.

Orly Rage is kind of similar to Soiree, but not an exact dupe. I much prefer the texture of Soiree, Rage is more sheer and patchy. Give me a minute to upload some pics into Photobucket and I will return with pics of both.

Happy new year everyone!

I compared Soiree to Sephora by OPI's Already Famous and they look pretty close. Applied on nails under artifical light, Soiree is slightly warmer and pinker with a finer, smoother shimmer while Already Famous has more apparent silver sparkles and a more glittery finish. The SOPI polishes are a few dollars cheaper than MAC as well. HTH!

Wearing Dangerous Cuvee lined (top only) with Uniformly Blue GPS - hot! but yet wearably soft. with Chanel's new Peregrina ls with Bubble Lounge over it - soft & sexy. I swear I am addicted to Bubble Lounge - alone or over everything!

I see where DC is sold out on the mac site.

^did u guys try it with just your fingers? It works amazingly on me and I know Elegant liked the other pps as well!

I wonder if they had two different manufacturers for the pps? It seems that some people are getting them to work really well and others can't at all!

I really tried making chilled on ice work but apparently it only looks nice in the pot.

So true. All of the paintpots for me were a creasy, splotchy mess. I am a glitterphobe to boot and the glitter flakiness of them actually made my stomach hurt. After all this time lemming them and it turned out to be that. It cut me to the eyebone.

Finally had time to run and get my Champale goodies yesterday. Since we haven't been getting much in the way of swatches PRIOR to the collections coming out I had my counter hold a pretty big preorder for me based on the color descriptions. You would think I would know better by now, wouldn't you? LOL

Original list:
All pps
All lip gelees
Both n/p
Both powders
IGNK

What I came home with:

Sintillation
Bubble Lounge x2 (Thanks of course to the master enabler Ms. Elegant One!)

I have MUFE #23L pencil so I was able to skip IGNK. I like the wear of the MUFE one better anyway. IMHO the pps and powders were totally skippable as well as the polishes. I like the quad but am sure I can dupe it with something I already have (right now I have about 8 15 pan palettes full of shadows so there must be something, right?)
