I bought it. It's ooookay for me, actually it's the nude lip that I've been looking for for quite some time. (I'm an NC50 just for reference). Honestly I would return it, but I won't return it because I will find a way to make it work in my collection, if that makes any sense. It's the perfect shade to throw on and leave the house, just to have SOMETHING on my lips, without looking like I have something on my lips.

But if I were you or anyone else really I'd skip it because it's nothing special, at least not for me, and I'm a bit of a MAC newbie.

Because of this crazy thread however, I did get home from the MAC store, realize I NEEDED So Scarlet and CoC and ordered online. ENABLERS!!!! All of you!

Someone did a review of the Chock-ful on MUA and took an excellent set of pics of her lips wearing it. VERY wonderful looking for a blackened brown. I was surprised.

...I can’t keep up!

I survived my dalliance with CoC yesterday, after much teasing ‘n’ excitement – I finally was exposed!

I came away with the following:

So Scarlet l/s x 2 (Both B2M)
CoC l/g
Jampacked l/g
Blonde’s Gold p/m
Heritage Rouge p/m
Velvetella Cremestick Liner
#239 Eye brush


Alas, I came away without any of the quads! While I was impressed with their presentation, I was unimpressed with its lack of originality. I wanted to buy at least one of the quads (Spiced Chocolate). The MA’s looked divine in Spiced Chocolate!

I just felt they were too dupable.
Spice Chocolate quad:

Sweet Chestnut = Cranberry, Heritage Rouge < especially!
Brash = Coppering
Spiced Chocolate = Embark

Tempting quad:

Sharp = Bitter over Chartru Paint and especially Lucky Jade s/s (looked fantastic and not as neon, was very comparable to Sharp)

Shadowy Lady quad:

Smudged Violet = Shale with Mauvement dusted on top. I even got a good result with Shale with Blonde’s Gold dusted on top.
I’d be interested to see these combos done with a wet brush to really bring it out, although, it was tricky to maintain the integrity of Shale’s purple with Mauvement/Blonde’s Gold over it. It got lost in translation a bit, but it worked. Smudged Violet was less of a struggle, obviously.

Unfortunately, every highlight color I ever see on MAC’s LE quads, always, falls short of what I need them to do for me, and therefore I heavily rely on Pigments to fill those roles for highlights. I feel awful about it because they’re always such pretty colors. It’s just - if you can’t see it in the “Nosebleed Seats” well…

Having said that – I, simply, look at the Light Fall e/s in this quad and I think well…there’s my Lovely Lily p/m staring back at me.

Shadowy Lady e/s is the “Devil’s Chalk”

- it’s what he uses on the ends of his pool sticks!
If you’re the right kind of Sinner…then Shadowy Lady has your name on her dance card!
An Angel like me couldn’t, possibly, wear this…

Although, it may seem like I’ve given these poor quads a bad rap – I want to point that LE quads are always a great deal when you want to put your hard earned cash to smart use, since it really is a smart buy…you get 4 shadows for $36 inside of a Fabu little case.

It is most likely I’ll get these quads…just today wasn’t the day.

All of the Lippies from head to toe are a triumph, they’ll suit everyone’s needs, wants, desires and leave ‘em satisfied…and, ultimately, wanting more!

CoC l/g is very special indeed, but Jampacked l/g is really, really special with its tiny gold pearl shimmers….mmmmmm

Velvetella Cremestick liner is sooooo important to this collection for its backbone by color alone. As it would be tempting to get by with Currant l/p – the Cremestick liners are, almost, crucial for the creamy, glossy applications needed for these looks (I mean if you’re really going all out that is – the dark, glossy, wet, rich decadent look) You need those Cremestick liners to keep you out of trouble with feathering and bleeding, since they're waterproof. Uhg!

And keep in mind that I got 2 of them, but…
So Scarlet l/s has a Sister and her name is DIVA(Matte) l/s

So Scarlet is a complete Amplified ripoff of Diva…thank God!
Put Diva over Velvetella and you wouldn’t know the difference! Diva to me almost seemed more trustworthy as far as endurance since it’s less likely to get messy on you, since it is a matte.
Especially, on us long haired gals who find it dramatic and, equally, romantic to have your hair blowin’ and a flowin’ in a gusty wind! This drama is incompatible to glossy lips, needless to say.

Of course, Diva l/s always seemed a bit creamier than most mattes.

But I defy you tell me otherwise…this town isn’t big enough for the both of ‘em!
They’re like the Velma Kelly and Roxie Hart of lippies!

But is, totally, worth investing in, and I’ll tell you why – as you all know they really are facing out Amplified lippies and being replaced by Cremesheens, (a formulation they say is superior…we’ll be the judge of that) - so this one will be a great one to have in our collections. Stock up on MAC RED ya’ll!

Last thought – Run - don’t walk to get any or all if the OverRich Piggies!!! Words fail me at this late hour to do them justice in any capacity! They are the missing link. Add these to your, already, extensive or just beginning collection of Piggies and you’ll experience wonders beyond your wildest imagination! Mmmm…

What lipliner would you use with So Scarlet? I don't want to change the color but since my lips have no pigment I do need something to define my lips.

I was playing with this last night. I think it's one of those lipsticks you definitely need to apply w/a lipbrush. Straight out of the tube it's way too much color...at least for me.

Did my FOTD this morning, and I am quite pleased with the Shadowy Lady quad. SL e/s in the quad seems a bit more blendable compared to the one I have in the cool eyes palette from 2007. I am so glad I got it. Blooming blush really shows up on me with no problem, and I am wearing Hue l/s with Jampacked l/g dabbed over it. Pics coming soon!!

I ordered my stuff online and had them ship it out to my friend in Chicago, who just happened to leave for New York ON THE DAY of their delivery....

What this means is two weeks of agony and waiting!!..

YMMV, but I like it with Burgundy and Vino.

MissChevious used Velvetella in her FOTD and they put it with the looks. But I think Velvetella, Currant, Nightmoth, Vino, would go with lips and I think Red lip pencil would be too light. Mahogany is too orange and you wouldn't keep using it, the other are versatile.

I used cream o' spice liner underneath bing with cult of cherry l/g on top today & it looks really good, but I will be buying Velvetella liner soon.

More color descriptions - please! This one is all over the map as far as it being liked & not liked. Is it close to Shy BPB & is it really frosty like it says????
