It is SO GORGEOUS!!! It is the prettiest eggplant color. I applied a light application with my finger & it gave me a very pretty soft dark lip. This will be absolutely gorgeous with a smokey eye
btw...I'm a pale NW15 with pigmented lips
But, I also think this color would be fabulous on WOC!

Thank you! I like to hear that someone has restraint, something I don't have! I have 2 red l/s (Port Red and Powerhouse) and I never wear either- it's already a lot of work keeping neutral lipstick on throughout the day, and reds are even worse, making sure it didn't smudge, that it didn't get on your teeth, etc. lol. But now here I am, lemming after all these dark, intense colors that I would prob only wear once!

I am scared to try the dark lips as well but I think that I have to get so scarlet lipstick and cult of cherry lipglass. As much as I would hope that the mattenes would work I am going to have to pass. I just know that I wouldn't give them the proper love that they deserve.

I've been trying to prepare myself for the really dark lips of CoC to get over the self-induced shock of wearing semi-goth lips. Today I broke out my Chanel Vamp lipstick and actually wore it. It's one of those colors where I bought it because, come on, it's Vamp - the stuff of legends. Every few months I take it out of my lippie drawer, look at it longingly, then tuck it back in the drawer. Today I said wth, let's make it work! So I applied it verrry thinly, like a stain. Then I topped it with Bobbi Brown's Black Pearl, which I must say, looks really great with this color. I started at the center of the lips and sheered it out towards the edges of the lips. It looked faboo!

Does anybody know if Brash is the same copper tone as Coppering? I can't tell from swatches off the comp.

I went to the pro shop this morning and the collection was not out and I held my breath while I asked for it. Apparently the display was too big and they didn't know where to put it. Maybe that was just as well because I couldn't see it all in person. I wound up getting the Shadowy Lady Quad, So Scarlet and Cult of Cherry l/g .
The quad is gorgeous IMO! I love it.
So Scarlet is perfection! I swatched it next to Rougette mattene and these two are very similar but So Scarlet is a tad redder. If you love Rougette you will love this but if you are looking for something really different from it you might want to skip it.
The CoC l/g is sort of like Port in a l/g when you look at it in the tube and swatched. I did not try it on yet but this is so glam!
I reserve the right to go back for blooming but I am going to try not to!

I have port and So Scarlet is very different. Port is a yellow toned red and SS has a burgandy tone to it. HTHS

I completely forgot to mention that I got Plum du Bois blush! Its really pretty. The Blossoming one was too light for me. Its really pretty too, which is a shame. I'm a NC-44 just for reference.

Wearing a dark lip and being able to pull it off definitely takes effort, but I think for those who are willing to put forth that effort can take their usual look and elevate it to something very glamorous. I know not everyone is high maitenence or likes to go for something simpler, but I just think that every girl-and some boys-should invest in a vampy lip every now in then.

I agree, it's fun to occasionally push yourself out of your comfort zone makeup-wise. It doesn't mean you have to go full on goth, in this case, but maybe find a happy medium that works on you. It's so easy to get into a makeup rut and wear the same variation on theme all the time. And fall is coming and I really want to explore using darker reds.
And I think I just talked myself into signing up for a makeover for CoC.
